  Press start in the characters selection screen to see the frienship between 
  each other . Depending on the friendship , you will recieve different amoun
  of Stock left from a previous battle . If its a " Happy Face " then you wil
  recieve all the stock left from a battle , if its other " faces " you see ,
  you will recieve one or none at all .

  In order to access the alternate character , you will have to hold on to 
  start before you choose them . Here are the list of the alternate character
  available : Kyo Kusanagi , Terry Bogard , Andy Bogard , Joe Higashi , Ryo
  Sakzaki , Robert Garcia , Yuri Sakazaki , Yashiro Nanakase , Shermie and
  Chris .
