Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Fear Effect - Strategy Guide (Page 03).
[ THE THREE UNLIT TORCHES ]
There are three unlit torches in this area. You need to remember the
location by yourself. The journey is a long one. Most of your time will
be spent going here and there but it will be all worth it at the end.
[ HANA ]
DON'T MOVE!!! Look at the stones and see what is the best way for you
to run across. Timing is everything so make sure you get it right.
( Loading should be a drag by now )
At this point I will only mention the first save point. The rest should
be a reflex by now. I will only mention the enemy that holds something.
Anything that moves and doesn't look human should be filled with lead
first. Why? Well there are a lot of things I need you to remember.
Once you are through, head down the path and find a save point. Continue
on and you will see THREE HUTS. Check out the huts for any stuff. There
are two paths here. The left and the right. I need you to go to the left
first. Nothing really special here but a lightning will strike a tree
causing it to become a BUSH FIRE. Remember this well as it is your first
fire that you can retrieve items from. I also need you to remember the WELL
next to the fire on the left.
Not go up the right path f the THREE HUTS. After the stairs you will see
a double door with THREE LIT TORCHES CHISELED on to it. Remember this door
and then go on your way. You will come to a fork. There is a fire here
that you can burn ammo with. ( Last mentioned fire ) First go to the
left path of the fork. You will see a playroom and a little girl in it.
Remember her for now and continue down the path. At the end you will
come to a door where you will scream Wee Ming's name. WEE MINNNNGGG!!!
Okay enough of that I will call this door the RED DOOR. Now head back to
the right path of the fork. Kill the bad guy at the bend and you will
be able to get the PAPER GATE. Go to the end and you will be blocked by
a gate. ( PAPER GATE - blocked gate... get it? ) To burn this PAPER GATE
you need to head back to the BUSH FIRE. ( Don't try the small fire...
I tried that and it didn't work )
Now after you burn the PAPER GATE at the BUSH FIRE your path will be cleared.
Now go all the way back to that area and you will see a chained up Madam
Chen at the end. Go talk to her and more will be revealed about the
connection between Hana and her. She will give you a DOLL and ask you to
give it to her daughter playing in the playroom. Go on then.
Give the doll the little girl in the playroom. ( Madam Chen was playing
with your head ) The little girl ( Mei Yun ) is Hana and Hana is the little
girl. You should be very disturbed by now but forget all that as I need you
to concentrate on the next puzzle. A very though one.
THE AGE PUZZLE
--------------
The YOUNG HANA will say to you..
"As a child, we flowered like a branch under the rain"
To understand this I need you to first look at the writing on the wall.
You will find this code.

Next to the YOUNG HANA is a SAFE with numeric and roman numbers on it.

The Number on the outer ring represent the AGE OF HANA. [ 00 ] - represents
HANA as an egg in the womb and [ 88 ] as the oldest HANA there is. The
numeric numbers inside represent the code you have to enter.
In the verse that you get from Hana you will find the words " branch " and
" flowered ". Thats 5 and 1. The Young Hana is 5 years old so you need to
enter five then one of the numeric number under the [ 5 ]. After you do this
Hana will grow to a teenage girl and so on. Here are the answers to the puzzle.
YOUNG HANA - "As a child, we flowered like a branch under the rain."
Answer = IIIII then I under [ 5 ]
TEENAGE HANA - "In youth, our beauty attracted the desire of many men."
Answer = II then IIIII under [ 18 ]
MIDDLEAGE HANA - "In adulthood, we marry and give birth to many children."
Answer = I then IIIII under [ 35 ]
OLD HANA - "In death, our withered body crumbles into bone and dust."
Answer = IIII, ( turn the dial one whole turn ) IIII, III then II under [ 88 ]
Once the last key is entered the old Hana will die, crumble revealing
the STONE SCROLL.
Take it to Madam Chen and she will give you TREE BRANCH for all your hard
work. ( all that thinking and all I get is a tree branch... bitch!! ) Light the
branch on fire and use it to light the THREE UNLIT TORCHES I asked you to find.
Once you have done this the double door will open. Enter and meet one of two
brothers. He will give you the STONE TREE HALF and a PAPER GATE KEY. Burn
the PAPER GATE KEY on the BUSH FIRE and a real GATE KEY will appear on the in
the left hut ( of the TREE HUTS ). Take the GATE KEY and use it on the RED DOOR.
[ GLAS }
No he ain't dead yet. ( almost but not yet ) After you go through the stones,
go down the structure in front of you and you will find a dragon statue.
Go left past a few doors and you will find the MOON KEY at the end. Grab it
and head back to the dragon statue. Go right and use the MOON KEY on the
locked door at the end.
You should see DEKE now. Damn! he looks weird and yes he is dead. Remember all
the DRAGONS that you will pass. More importantly the symbol that appears at
the bottom. First you will pass the DRAGON OF FIRE. Climb down the vines and you
will pass the DRAGON OF EARTH and the DRAGON OF HEAVEN. Get the SUN KEY and
go back to where you use the MOON KEY. Use the SUN KEY on the door on the left
and you will see the DRAGON OF MOUNTAIN. Now go back to where you saw the
DRAGONS OF EARTH and HEAVEN. Go to the back of the room ( following DEKE again )
and climb up the vines. Continue on and you will see the DRAGON OF WATER.
Climb down the vines at the corner. Here is where the real test is. Prepare
a pencil and paper and look into the mirror. Take down what you see. ( use
short form if it goes too fast. The elements shown represent the various
dragons. I took it all down for you.

Now go forward and you will see a floor with all the symbols of the dragon
on it. Walk the sequence and you will make it to the other side. Here if
you just can't see it.

Don't worry about the way back. All the useless floor tiles will crumble after
you pick up the STONE SWORD. Grad the STONE SWORD and head back to the dragon
statue at the start before all this mumbo-jumbo. Deke will be there too.
Use the STONE SWORD on the dragon statue and a path will be revealed to DEKE.
Go talk to him. ( load up your strongest weapon )

Deke's attack is to wash away the stones you are standing on. To get more
stones you need to give Deke a face lift with your strongest weapon. Every thing
has a pattern and it repeats the same way every time. If you die, it is okay but
remember the pattern so you will know where to stand. After you kill Deke, He will
drop the STONE EYE ( ewww ). Glas will pick up the eye and see the bottom of the
WELL. ( remember the WELL I asked you to remember )
[ HANA ]
Go to the end of the path and into the throne room. You will meet the second
of the two brothers. He will give you the second part of the STONE TREE and you
will be able to make the STONE WILLOW. When he goes he will a leave a CRANK in his
place. Take the CRANK to the WELL and use it to raise the bucket. Grab the STONE
EYE in the bucket. Continue down the path and the game will take over.
[ GLAS ]
Now after the cool FMV you understand all the stuff thats going on. But now
it gets better.
Start shooting for the fun of it. You will lose eventually. It is okay. Just
let it go. You won't have to load.
[ HANA ]
Go to the end of the path and you will meet the next puzzle.
THE MAP PUZZLE
--------------
There are four symbols that you carry with you at the bottom right of the
map. You have to match it with four symbols that are associated with the symbol.
Check it out at the bottom.
STONE SCROLL = CLOCK SAFE
STONE EYE = WELL
LEFT PART OF STONE WILLOW = STONE GATE
RIGHT PART OF STONE WILLOW = THREE TORCHES
Once you solved the puzzle the map will burn away and you have to get up
again. You have to change to DISK 2.

The world is now made from paper and letters. SAVE HERE! Trust me just do
it. This whole room is a puzzle. There are a few annoying bad guys hiding so
take care of them first.
First go to the furnace and burn whatever paper things that you have left.
Look at the furnace and you will see three Chinese characters representing
the STONE SCROLL, WILLOW and EYE.

These three symbol can be found on the floor and on the wall. The colour of
the Symbols will come out in a darker YELLOW. I drew a map to the best of my
ability of the locations of the symbol. Use the items on its respective characters.
The STONE EYE rotates so keep your eyes open. I REPEAT DARKER YELLOW!!!

The center of the room will rise to reveal Jin whose real form is Yim Lau Wong.
All will be revealed.
Mr Lam is turned into a demon for his failure and GLAS and HANA has two different
agenda's to on their mind. It is a showdown between HANA and GLAS. Which one
will you choose? ( Glad I asked you to save huh. Now you will have 4 endings
guaranteed ) If you want to find out what happens next, Head to the

• SPOILERS
==========
There are 5 endings to the game. The best ending can only be found when you
replay the game in HARD MODE. Here are all the endings and how to get them.
HANA WINS
---------
Choose Hana and Hana will shoot Glas. You must now distract Yim Lau Wong long
enough for Wee Ming to get into the paper version of her. The Demon Mr.
Lam will attack you. Shoot the demons to get PAPER MONEY while avoiding Mr
Lam's attack. Burn the PAPER MONEY and you will hurt Mr Lam. Repeat this until
he dies. Wee Ming will break the prophecy and defeat Yim Lau Wong.
HANA LOSES
----------
Die while fighting Mr Lam and you will see this ending.
GLAS WINS
---------
Choose GLAS and he will shoot Hana and then turn his gun to Wee Ming. Wee Ming
will then show her demon form. Duck and shoot be the best strategy here.
Your main aim should be Wee Ming. Kill her and you will find out the ending.
GLAS LOSES
----------
Die while fighting Wee Ming and you will see this ending.
EVERYBODY WINS
--------------
Choose the middle option. It is the same outcome of Hana wins but with a twist.

Cheat Code Central and Gameshark.com This game is hell without codes.
There are tons of codes for this game but this is my recommendation. Your game
might crash when changing disk so make sure you save a lot. If it crashes just
load the game without the GS and save on the next chance so you can use the GS
again.
