Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner - Strategy Guide (Page 03)
Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner - Strategy Guide (Page 03).
- Notice there are steel plates attached on the left/right wall? Grab it (Switch your subweapon to grab) - Proceed foward when you can't see the light, When you see it comming towards you, Guard! You'll be push back but it won't hurt you, get yourself to the front when nothing happens! - Always grab, defend, and go front until you saw the generator which actually shoots out that white light. - When the generator is not charging, Grab the steel plate and throw at the generator, it will be damaged, so you have to throw more steel plates to destroy it completely. However, when the generator is charging or flashing, grab the steel plate and defend yourself. - And repeat the process until the generator is completely destroyed. Now, you've clear a path! Proceed foward and you see another cutscene. Dingo arrives at the path which block the way to the Aumaan, Leo soon arrives and you'll have a talk with him. After this, get yourself to the flame wall, notice you can't get in? Ok, land yourself (not on the ground) on the spot where your eye level still can see the flame wall. Switch your subweapon to V.Cannon, charge it up, and blast it. You've clear the last path, and next section will lead you to a boss fight, so get the Metatron behind you and go inside the path..... Now. You'll see Jehuty will flying around Aumaan, watch the cutscene. And you'll meet Anubis! and Nohman, but that's a little strange..... Sounds fishy.... Anyway, you'll be fighting Anubis now. ~BOSS : ANUBIS~ (Controlled by ????) START This is really strange, where is Anubis wings? (or is it wings? I don't know.....) He's pretty weak if you ask me. Use 0-Shift, always mash on circle to reach him, and slash that guy up with either Swing Sword Slash, or Dash Slash, it's up to you. And Anubis is very weak on defense, he recieves damage which is greater than the past fight. Nothing really need to worry about him, But always beware of his melee attack, since it's very damaging. So don't kid about his melee attack. And when he does his burst attack (looks like blood spliting out from Anubis stomach...) dash left and right so that the burst attack will miss you, and 0-Shift in front of him to slash him back. The only annoying thing is: Anubis still loves to teleport, so beware. *If you're hurt during the previous Anubis battle, then I feel very sorry for you, because you will be fighting the next boss battle with the remaining health. So try to keep your health bar above 75% Get his health bar to yellow, and always keep your life bar up After this, a cutscene occur... END Jehuty will stop fighting, and Leo will get very angry and charge towards Anubis in Vic Viper's flight form. It's very cool when he does his burst attack! But Anubis managed to avoid his laser attack at first (Fortune? Helena Dolph Jackson!?), but not his burst attack, and Leo will end his attack by stabbing it. He success! But..... Suddently, another Anubis comes up, and Leo notice but it's too late for him. In a flash, Anubis counters Vic Viper, and damaged VV really greatly. What the hell happend!? It can't be....! The person inside damaged Anubis is actually Ken, who is used by Nohman to lure Jehuty! Nohman actually controled the "fake" Anubis. As Nohman clonned one of the Anubis out to test Jehuty's performance! Dingo charges at him, but suddently Nohman unleashes a stream of starlight. Starting to break Aumaan down (The effects is very well done!) and Nohman tells Dingo that this is the power, and the will of the Metatron. And talk something about Aumaan....But Ken interrupt his words by telling him that this place where everyone see, is not the real Aumaan! Since the Aumaan that where they all standing at is merely a Control Center...... The real Aumaan, is actually located at Phobos! Where the origin of the Metatron comes from! Nohman will tell Dingo something about the origin of the Metatron, after his trash talk, he will activated more of the power, Jehuty can't really stop it, thus the impact damaged Jehuty! Jehuty's part is damaged, and his 3 Wisps is gone! However, after the talk, and cutscene, Nohman will sent everyone into the space of Phobos. Jehuty will chase Anubis, although Ada will tell you the lost of your subweapons and long range attacks. But some of your options are still avaliable. With the options of : Slash, Dash, Burst, Grab, and Zero Shift. Dingo will comment that this is already enough to get on. And now, It's time to put Anubis into oblivion! ~BOSS : ANUBIS~ (Controlled by Nohman) START Now that Jehuty is damaged, you're now using Damaged Jehuty, you can no longer use long range attacks, along with your subweapons! The only option of killing Anubis, is to play Melee with him! Luckily, your 0-Shift is still there! Use it! This is long, pain battle, and might requires you to be patient, and you might not able to kill him for the first time. Don't get discouraged, you need get the hang of it. Once you got it, he'll be easier to be dealt with. Now, he finally defeatable. But it's not easy...... Now, since you can't use Burst Shot and All Way Laser, What you need to do now is try to get near him by using 0-Shift after you've target Anubis, but always beware, It mostly comes out with his burst attack. (the attack when he comes out with a fireball attack, It's body is flashing while doing this attack, just to give a hint for you in case you don't really know. Anyway, it's like blood spliting out from his stomach, I do mention it on the previous strategy.) So dodge it left and right, In case you're too far from Anubis, you have to dash faster as it's burst attack will have a higher chance of hitting you if you're very far away from Anubis. After dodging it, 0-Shift, and you'll get near it, stand still and quickly use the Swing Sword Slash to slash Anubis off. Beware of his melee attack, once it hits you, it will continue the hit until it's done, never give you a chance to get away in between, So what you can do is to wait until he perform his melee attack, he will have a recovery time so take the opportunity to counter him back. Don't counter his melee attack unless you know how. The reason why you have to beware of his melee attack is because : It's very damaging. it's melee attack will take 35-70%(!!) of your health away, but it's possible to escape during his performance of melee attack, and your damage recieved will be lesser, but it's still damaging. (Once it hits you, it's still a pain, escape during halfway of it's attack will only lossen the damage by a little.) Once you managed to damage Anubis a bit, he will teleport away from you If you can't manage to hurt Anubis, don't worry, as long as you live, you definitely get him sometime. Just get near to Anubis and hurt it by using Swing Sword Slash, if you slash him and it teleports away at the same time. You're unlucky, but you'll still have chance to get him. Once Anubis is on yellow bar. Anubis parts will be damaged. And he won't use the teleport often now. He still loves to teleport, but not much. Maintain the same way as before, always get near him and slash him when he's off guard. But instead of using the burst shot more often, it's favourite move is now changed, Once you get near him, beware, always avoid his burst melee attack (he has it, don't forget he has the same capability and performance as Jehuty's capability and performance.) To make things easier, go near it first, once he starts using this move (Anubis body will also flash when doing the burst melee attack) avoid it, and once it's done, go near and use the Swing Sword Slash since he is recovering from this attack, this will provide enough time for you to get rid of him. Once his health bar reached purple, nothing really change from the 2nd phrase of Anubis's movement. So maintain the same strategy until it's defeated. But always take note here, always beware of it's melee attack. To make things easier, memorize his move first rather than actually go in front and slap Anubis. You'll feel better this way. END Once Nohman and Anubis is defeated, oh yeah, he deserves to have at least try the true power of Jehuty! You'll notice Anubis will start transfering it's glowing into Jehuty. And Jehuty will recover from the damage and transforms into his ultimate form, Naked Jehuty. (sounds odd...and gives me an impression of Grey Fox...) You will dash away and get the damaged Anubis and damaged Vic Viper into a safe place. Now, you'll arrive at the outer Phobos. you're now at the center of Aumaan. After this, Elena Weinberg will contact you, and begs you to stop Aumaan, and put the end of everything. Dingo (I couldn't get a thing he says, but he mostly agree, or not there will be no story isn't it?) Anubis will drop down from the sky, and crushed. Naked Jehuty must check his "brother" out, and also check out what's going to happend to Nohman.... - Press L2, and locate three of the Ex-mission files scatter around One is on the sky, two of them is on the ground, look everywhere. - Follow the arrow. Dingo will tell Nohman to stop now, since it's all over, but things doesn't go what Dingo thinks, Nohman will laugh, and tells you that his scheme will success no matter how hard Dingo try to stop him, thus Anubis will drop into the core of Aumaan........ After the cutscene once more, you will play as Naked Jehuty for now. Too strong, Who needs the 3 wisps when your 0-Shift can actually hurt people when someone get too close to you? You still have the advance guard. He's ultimately insane in terms of power, and speed! Oh, and Subweapon is still gone for good, but who needs it? Your enemy around this area is actually a surprise : Nephtis! And comes in pairs! But a shot from Jehuty will kill it straight away, and you'll get Metatron from every Respawned Nephtis that you killed. You still have 2 more Ex-Mission files scatter around during fighting Respawned Nephtis, so find around, The place that you are now is not big, it actually small compare to the other stages, so it's quite easy to find those ex-mission files. Once you're done, follow the arrow............ Naked Jehuty will jump in............ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside Aumaan... The Core.... You'll see Anubis, and it's different...very very different......... Cutscene will come, and you will fight the very last boss : Aumaan Anubis ~BOSS : AUMAAN ANUBIS~ (Controlled by Nohman) The Final Battle START Naked Jehuty VS Aumaan Anubis, the ultimate showdown. Basically nothing to worry about this guy, he's weaker compare to the previous Anubis. Except that he's much faster. Since he's very fast, use 0-Shift to get near him Maintain the same way on how you fight Anubis in the previous battle, with the exception of don't really use the Swing Sword Slash anymore, normal 4 hit combo will hurt it a lot, and much faster, the previous battle don't require you to do combo is because Anubis will only take one hit and teleports away, while Aumaan Anubis doesn't. But beware of his it's burst attack, Now, this attack accuracy is very high. And if you don't use the All Way Laser to negate it, you'll have a trouble avoiding it unless you hide behind the obstacle (the center core). It's melee attack is slow, but still need to take care, It's melee doesn't really give much damage to you at all (You're controlling Naked Jehuty after all...). But prepare to face the worst, you don't want to lose right? Basically just hit and run, after a while, Aumaan Anubis will tremble, and no longer functional, you won! END Dingo will charge at Nohman, and say something about Dingo's comrades who all died 6 years ago (Nohman left them died....Well, I don't really know why and how until The 2nd Runner is released ) You will decide yourself whether you want to give a final shot at Nohman, so do whatever you want to. You can't grab it. So be a good guy, give him a last slash, and he will begone forever from this game. As for the ending, I won't spoil it. Enjoy!~ (You've earned it, and I leave the spoilers to the other FAQers if they want to spoil it.) THE END OF WALKTHROUGH ANUBIS : ZONE OF THE ENDERS ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SECRETS -For the complete gameplayers- -Vs. Mode- After you've finshed the section where you've fought Anubis for the ever first time, before Deimos Station...You'll unlock Vs.mode. But only Jehuty is avaliable. Clear the game once, and you'll unlock the following OF: -Jehuty ver.2 -Damaged Jehuty -Vic Viper -Ardjet -Nephtis -Anubis You'll have 3 more OF's to unlock , those are found at storymode. Then after this, proceed the rescue mission, and when you got her out. Look at the intermission screen, and Ken will be half naked! She won't show that extreme, so don't look too far ^_^ (Half naked doesn't mean she's wearing a bikini, or similar. She only takes off her uniform!) At the Anime cutscene, Instead you see Ken wearing her uniform, she'll bump into you without the uniform now!...(Hideo is such a womanizer! ^_^) Whatever it is, more bounce this time ^_^ (the Anime cutscene is sort of like a "refined" version of the normal anime cutscene) However, after you reached Lloyd's Defense Security area. Ken will put back her clothes on..........And the game proceeds as normal. -Ex-mission files location - Those info's description are provided by Aumaan, but I did found nearly 99% of all the Ex-mission files, by MYSELF. MORE TO COME.....But is there all the secrets avaliable? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- FUN STUFF TO PLAY WITH..... ~Fun in tension......~ - Phantoma and Ardjet can be used as weapons! (In storyline mode, Where you have to save them to get out of the place) Who dares to get near me will have to taste the power of Phantoma/Ardjet! Too bad that they will scream because of panic! - In some boss battles, you can grab and swing the bosses! Nephtis is one of the example. For even fun, try to use Naked Jehuty, and grab Nepthis...(More on below) - L3 and R3 button, while fighting enemies, will serve as Positive and Negative respones (Same deal as MGS2, the codec call....). When Ada tells you something is destroyed, press L3 for Positive Response, and R3 for Negative, I'm unsure about doing those will get Ada's response or not, but I remember I did get a reply from Ada....... - Intermissions, and CG scene can be played around, press R1 to tweak your own camera view (appilies on CG scene only), twiggle the left analog stick left and right, up and down will result on pan the camera view, and pressing only R1 will do a closeup! - On intermissions, press R2 once and wiggle the left analog stick with different directions will move Dingo's potrait in different directions! While press R2 once again and wiggle the right analog stick will move the other characters potrait in different directions. - Using Naked Jehuty with Grab subweapon will choke an enemy. Until the enemy dies, Naked Jehuty will not stop chocking the enemy. Hohoho, I said before, grab Nephtis will result Naked Jehuty on chocking Nephtis! Die Nephtis DIE! - At the mission of Chaotic Battle, you can grab Vic Viper and take it as a weapon! You can do anything you want to! Swing Vic Viper will gurentee a 100% critical attack to every single enemy around you! Nice huh? If you tap the circle button repeatly, you'll kill all the enemies surrounding you, but it'll result on releasing Vic Viper, and it will fly away like mad! ^_^ The most useful and fun "subweapon" for this mission. However, you still have to take care about the annoying LEV's and try to reduce the casualities during this battle. (I love VV even more after this mission!) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~GAME SYSTEM AND MISCHELLENOUS FILES~ What makes Z.O.E so addictive? ~SUBWEAPONS~ Subweapons often known as alternate weapons, which you can get those by either defeat the bosses throughout the game, some may give you, or you have to go through one mission to get it. Subweapons is sometimes effective against bossess, and useful on some missions Which the subweapons avaliable, Jehuty can use different weapons other than it's own basic attacks. Jehuty starts the game with only one subweapon, Grab. Where it is one of Jehuty's most basic and effective subweapons which it is mostly use against a group of enemies (where more than 5 of the enemies surrounding you.) Here's the info of the subweapons. 1 is the lowest usage rating, while 10 is the highest. - GEYSER Type of subweapon : Energy attack Guard Possible : Yes Attack power : _ Speed : _ _ _ Subweapon usage : _ Geyser is one of the most basic subweapon which proved to be very useful of stunning any enemies who got hit, doesn't imply on some bossses though, It basically comesout with a string of white lines and the string will activate the shock electric to stun the enemy. Geyser is also useful for fighting Vic Viper, when it is on Robot mode. How Geyser works? Basically it's just a simple theory, Geyser will hit an enemy according to where you face. So to make it effective, perform a 4 hit combo, and after the thrid hit, cancel the last slash and shoot Geyser right in front of him, and you can stll continue hitting the specific enemy until it dies. Usage rating : 6 How you get it : After you rescued Taper. He will give you as a reward. - GAUNLET Type of subweapon : Physical Attack Guard Possible : Yes (Which I don't think it is) Attack Power : _ _ Speed : _ _ _ Subweapons Usage : _ Gaunlet is one of the most useful basic subweapon of all. It comes out a powerful impact energy attack which will negate enemies defense and pushed the enemy behind when it hits. And it's quite damaging. While fighitng the 4th battle of Nephtis, Gaunlet is a MUST. While it's biggest pros.is when you hit an enemy with Geyser while it is in a corner. Damage wil be doubled, making it faster to kill an enemy. But be careful, Never consume it too much, It has a rapid fire (although it's slow compare to Phalanx), Serve this subweapon as your last resort when you're low on health, and if many enemies surrounding you, use this subweapon until you get Mummy. Usage rating : 8 How you get it : After the fight with Vic Viper - COMET Type of subweapon : Energy attack Guard Possible : No Attack Power : _ _ Speed : _ _ Subweapon Usage : _ _ _ Comet is an "alternate" version of Gaunlet, with the exception of smaller in size, and has the ability to home onto enemy, While you shoot it on the target, it will follow the enemy, making it nearly 90-100% accuracy of hittng an enemy. Damage is the same, and it's speed is slower than Gaunlet. When Jehuty shoot out Comet, it's blue in colour. But mostly, you won't really use it since you have Gaunlet which is faster, and it's purposes of usage is short until you get Homing Missle, and Phalanx. They are sort of combination of Gaunlet and Comet in a either small streamed, or in numbers. Usage Rating : 4 How you get it : After defeating Nepthis, the third battle - DECOY Type of subweapon : N/A Guard Possible : N/A Attack Power : N/A Speed : N/A Subweapon Usage : _ _ _ Decoy is useful, unfortunately only in one battle. Decoy will create an illusion of Jehuty, making the enemy targetting system radar jammed. Due to it, you will be invisible, but by not means you're "god mode". Enemies may not see you, but their attacks may still hit you! While you can create as many illusions as you want, enemy will have trouble hitting you. And you will be transparent. And it lasts for 10-??? seconds depending on how long and how good you sort out the time of using Decoy and attack enemies on the same time. If you're using Naked Jehuty, you're almost reach the "God Mode" if you can time your plan and usage well. Since using Subweapon with Naked Jehuty will not deplete your sub gauge..... Inhert will caught off guard if you're using Decoy while fighting it. Usage Rating : 6 How you get it : After you destroy the train at Vascilia train tunnel, before fighting Nephtis, the fouth battle. - PHALANX Type of subweapon : Energy Attack Guard Possible : Yes Attack Power : _ _ _ Speed : _ _ _ _ Subweapon usage : _ _ Phalanx is sort of a machine gun, which hit multiple enemy if they come near to your attacking area, Jehuty will fire multple streams of small bullets which spreads out almost every area, although it targets only one enemy, but whoever goes near the Phlanx attack area will also get hit. In certain areas, where you are not really convient enough to use melee, Phalanx is your best bet, it doesn't require much of sub gauge. But it's quite a waste to hit an enemy which is not in numbers, and groups, so use it wisely. Usage rating : 5 How you get it : Once you destroy all two generators which block the main gate on the way to Vascilia City, you will get it. - VECTOR CANNON Type of subweapon : Energy Attack Guard Possible : No Attack Power : _ _ _ _ _ Speed : _ Subweapon usage : _ _ _ _ _ Vector Cannon must be obtained for the sake of the storyline. To invade Aumaan, Vector Cannon must be used. You'll know more about Vector Cannon in the storyline, and it plays a major role on this game. One of the most powerful subweapon, and also the slowest. Vector Cannon is absolutely not recommended for destroying enemies. You may only use it during some missions, or to clear the path which you can't clear with normal attacks of Jehuty. But it looks awesome, and the most powerful, and it locks onto enemy, who ever been targeted on screen will destroyed, making it a most destructable weapon of all. On the bad site, it takes a very long time to charge, slow, and you might be killed if you continue to charge, although you won't be interupted when you're charging, but while enemies are attacking you, you can't move. Making yourself 100% vulnerable to any types of attack. Plus, you can only use it when you're on ground, and must hold the circle button until it's fully charged, you'll also use up a lot of sub gauge, bad huh? But no subweapons are perfect.... *But the effects when you're using V.Cannon is beautiful! Sort of a "crystallize" plus "shiny" effects. And 5 vulcans will be surounding the cannon for massive charge. Usage Rating : 6 How you get it : By defeating Nephtis for the fouth time. - HALBERD Type of subweapon : Energy Attack Guard Possible : No Attack Power : _ _ _ _ Speed : _ _ Subweapon usage : _ _ _ Halberd is the same attack as the Mummyheads attack that they always use, while you're firing Halberd, it will come out a laser attack. Hold down circle will make the laser fire in a line, it will continue to fire until your sub gauge is fully depleted. It's useful to kill an enemy which is at far range, but not at short range, where it's speciality is : It kills an enemy or two which comes in a line. Firing Halberd will negate enemies defense straight away, So don't worry if they block it. However, don't expect yourself to use it for fighting the bosses, it won't work. The bad side is, since it fires directly and only in one direction, you have to wiggle the right analog stick to have a better target on the enemies, which is a pain to your fingers, it's very inconvinient (That's why I don't use it much) Usage Rating : 4 How you get it : On the way to Lloyd's City, and you obtain the subweapon while you're trespassing the Lloyd's Defense Security Area. - WISP Type of subweapon : Energy Attack Guard Possible : No Attack Power : _ _ Speed : _ _ _ Subweapon usage : _ _ Wisp is not the Wisps attack which is used by Ardjet. It's functionality is almost the same as Grab subweapon, except that you can catch the enemy from a very far distance, in some places, you can even grab some items which you can't even reach! While it's function is almost the same as Grab, it makes nothing special except that you can catch an enemy from far...... Usage Rating : 5 (for me it has only one purpose) How you get it : Ardjet will transfer the subweapon to you during the mission where have to save Ardjet to the top. (the Larva mission to be exact) - MUMMY Type of subweapon : N/A Guard Possible : N/A Attack Power : N/A Speed : N/A Subweapon usage : _ _ _ Mummy is same as guard (the R1 button) with added functions of healing.....Sort of like guard and heal at the same time with the cost of sub gauge. Pretty sweet if too much enemies surrounding you and use melee at the same time. Guard, and heal. And remember, once your sub gauge is depleted, you can no longer guard use Mummy. Useful for guarding Cyclops annoying Melee. Which I hate them because they attack you like crazy, non stop, and comes in triples..... Usage Rating : 7 How you get it : On the elevator of Lloyd's City. There is an area with a dead end down in the basement. Fight the mummyhead and obtain that. (Provided by Spenze) - HOMMING MISSLE Type of subweapon : Physical Attack Guard Possible : No Attack Power : _ _ _ _ _ Speed : _ _ Subweapon usage : _ _ _ _ Homming Missle is also the most useful subweapon on this game. Without a doubt, any enemy who got hit by this subweapon will be destroyed. And the maximum missles you can come out with is 13! Press once will come out two, but hold down circle longer will come out longer. During the Chaotic Battle Mission, it serves as a most useful weapon against a thousand army since the charged Homming Missle will depend on how many enemies on one screen. Once it comes out fully, enemy will never be able to escape from it. Very useful for combo purposes. A hit will make your combo bar (which located below your sub gauge go 8 - 16 hit.) let's assume you got 16 hit combo, x13 of your full charged missles, and if hits all. You might get 208 hits on one shot! How to fully use it? while you're targetting an enemy, and hold down Circle button to charge it up. You will notice there is a long, white thingy behind your back? when it is very long (don't bother counting) release it. Although you target only one enemy, but since a missle will only kill one enemy, other enemies which one the screen will follow the hit and get killed. However, this attack has a downside. First, it takes awhile to fully charge it (not as bad as V.Cannon). Second, once enemy hits you, your charge will be negated. So once you see a long white missles at Jehuty's back, don't hesitate to hold down circle anymore, release it. Another downside is, the more missles you release, the more sub gauge you use up. But when you charge too much of H.Missles and there are only two-three enemies on one screen, It only takes up the sub gauge that you use up for hitting enemies, the left out missles will won't use your sub gauge, thus it will give back the remaining gauge to you. Overall, the most useful subweapon in this game. However, on the later stage, you won't need it anymore. 0-Shift will surpass this subweapon. Usage Rating : 9 How you get it : After fighting Inhert. - FLOATING MINE Type of subweapon : Physical Attack Guard Possible : No Attack Power : _ _ _ _ Speed : _ Subweapon usage : _ _ _ Floating Mine is an attack where the most useful, is when the enemy gets too close to you. Other than that, never plant a mine beyond the reach of an enemy. They are not stupid to get near your planted mine.
