"Oh, I guess Trix are for grown-ups too!"
Version History:
Version .5 - Just the basic know how on all the modes and features. MUCH more
to be added in the next update (Yes that means alot, see coming soon section)
Version .75 - I fixed some errors and deleted tricks section. All the Be A Legend,
Street School and Rewards sections are complete leaving only the NBA Challenge
and Street Milestones which might take me another day or two :( I would also like
to get all of those nicknames but I do not really have the time so any one that
would like to contribute please send me the nickname and the quote that was
provided (If you don't remember try and describe how you attained it). Next update
should be this weekend since I want to finish everything before I do.
Version 1.0 - Fixed some gramatical things and finished the rest of the game with
all the Street Milestones and some strategies for the NBA Challenge mode. I still
have to work on those nicknames as I believe there are quite a few and I've only
named a small portion of them. Please send those in since I cannot do it alone. I
am thinking about going in-depth on the My Team section to clarify all the Create
A Baller information and list some good teams to put together.
Version 1.1 - Fixed even more things wrong with the FAQ (I'm not perfect after
all! *sigh*) Added more nicknames and 2 new sections (High Scores and Lyrics).
Finished that annoying NBA Challenge mode finally. Touched up on the Be a Legend
mode details. Will try and go into more detail on the NBA Challenge mode.
Version 1.2 - Fixed the Reward Points and Development Points you earn on the
different difficulties. Also, fixed some quotes and added a high score. I've been
thinking about adding a Team Roster section and strategy for all the NBA Challenge
teams, email me if you would like this or not. All answers will be taken into
consideration. I do not want to hear "Yeah sure why not" because typing all of
that information when it really won't mean anything is sort of pointless. Note
that is part was never updated on online, just as a reference to myself.
Version 1.3 - Please read the above update first. I fixed some nickname quotes so
thanks to everyone who helped me. I also added another FAQ.
Version 1.4 - Hoping to wrap this thing up pretty soon since I have other games to
play and more FAQs to write. So, if you want to be in the top10 list please send
those scores in as only a few people have sent scores in. Added a few nicknames
and fixed some quotes. Next update will probably be final and my email will be
scratched.
Version Final - Sorry that this came up alittle bit short but with the amount of
information I have received the first 2 weeks it finished this up really quick.
Thanks again to any and all that contributed to the FAQ and to all that read this
FAQ. Please stop with the emails because I do have other FAQs to write.
Introduction:
Welcome to the wonderful world of NBA Street where you can try to hang with
the best ballers in the nation. If you've ever played the original you would
know that this is a great game and is highly addictive. This is not NBA Live
or some other regular sports game but is instead a game like NFL Blitz where
no rules apply and fun is created by this. Busting out some high flying, above
the rim dunks like NBA Jam (Not that high though) is just one of many great
things that this game brings. Well, enough talk, let's get to the goods.

Advanced Controls
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I call these the advanced controls since they are for one new, and two they
are pretty advanced for this game.
Pass ball and maintain control of same person: This is a new feature to NBA Street
Vol. 2 and will grow to be very likeable. Simply tap the R3 button (Don't press it
in, that's a pick) in the direction you want to pass the ball and your player
will pass the ball to a teammate allowing you to maintain control of the player
you had and not the ball. Check further down in this section and later in the
Tricks and Tips section of the FAQ.
Back 2 Papa: Moving towards the hoop press and hold any 2 turbos and then hit X,
this will throw the ball off of the backboard and pass it to a teammate or back
to yourself.
Off the Heezay: Standing still press and hold any 2 turbos and then hit X, this
will bounce the ball off the opponents head.
Note: Only done with good ball handlers.
Be the Oop: A move involving the R3 pass, pass it off and head down the lane like
you were going to dunk (without the ball) and you jump for an Alley-Oop, hit X in
mid-air and your teammate will give you the sweetness.
GameBreaker: Bust out those tricks and watch the meter fill up! When the meter is
full the music will change and you can unleash a GameBreaker. Press and hold any
2 turbos and the shoot/dunk to initiate it.
Pocket Gamebreaker: New feature allowing you to store your GameBreakers to use
them for a Level 2 GameBreaker, press select while you have possesion of the ball.
Cancel Gamebreaker: New feature allowing you to cancel an opponents Pocketed
GameBreaker, press any 2 turbos and select.
Note: This is a strategic move, although the computer never gets this far on me it
could be handy for tight situations
Level 2 Gamebreaker: Pocket a GameBreaker and then when you get a second one you
can do the literally unstoppable Gamebreaker 2. This Gamebreaker does double the
damage and can get those trick points way up there.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Team
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enter this mode from the Main Menu and it will include 2 new options:
Create a Baller: As the name implies, it allows you to create a new player to be
used.
Note: A created player must be made in order to play in the Be A Legend Mode.
Through out the Be A Legend mode you will gain Development Points for your baller
and will be able to "MAX" his stats. Only one stat can have a crown so choose
wisely. Also, what kind of body figure you choose will alter the clothes and shoes
that you can choose. I suggest building a baller after you have completed a good
part of the NBA Challenge since you can use some of those Reward Points to get
some Development Points to build a nice player at the beginning or you can visit
the Tip and Tricks section of this FAQ to find out some sneaky ways to snag easy
Development Points.
Note: It takes 11,100 Development Points to "MAX" your player out.
Create a Team: My personal favorite feature, it allows you to create your own team
from NBA Players, Street Legends, NBA Legends and Created Ballers.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Street School
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is where you and Strecth Monroe go to work at the basics and some of the new
and advanced techniques in the game. Going through all of 26 of them earns you
a Trophy and 1,000 Reward points. If you go through it without messing up on any
of them (26 attempts 26 completed) you get Nate Archibald's throwback Jersey.
----------------------------------Offense----------------------------------------
Pass: Not hard at all, just hit X.
Short Range Shot: Take it in close and hit circle to shoot.
Long Range Shot: Use Kobe and shoot a straight on 3, it should go in.
Dunk: Run into the lane while holding 2 turbos and then shoot, you should dunk it.
Dunk to Lay-Up: Do a Dunk except before you jam it hit circle to lay it up.
Alley-Oop: When your teammate is in the air just hit X to pass it to him.
Trick Move: Hit square to perform a trick.
Gamebreaker: Hold 2 turbos and shoot inside of half court (preferably dunk) to do
the gamebreaker.
----------------------------------Defense----------------------------------------
Switch Player: Just hit X.
Steal: Follow the ball and when the opponent is just standing press square to get
the steal.
Block: Follow the ball and when the opponent is just standing run in and out and
he will stop dribbling, this is when you hit triangle or circle to get the block.
Trick Counter: The opponent will keep doing tricks, just get the timing and hold
2 turbos while hitting square.
Turbo Block: Same as blocking except hold down 2 turbos to get the "Turbo" block.
----------------------------------Advanced---------------------------------------
Pump Fake: Take the ball to about the 3 and just tap circle, I mean TAP like real
quick, and the opponent should jump. If he doesn't just keep tapping.
Fadeaway: Do a short range shot and use the d-pad or analog to go left while
shooting (No TURBO or it will not fade).
Pick: Stand at about the 3 and press R3 once (not more it will cancel the pick).
Dive: Your opponent will lose the ball so double-tap any turbo to dive for it.
Kick Pass: Hold in L3 and press pass.
Off the Heezay: Use Kobe for this one. Get in the lane and hold 2 turbos and pass
when the opponent is standing still.
Back 2 Papa: Same as Off the Heezay except be moving towards the hoop when it is
executed.
Advanced Trick Move: Hold all 4 turbos and do a trick.
Advanced Dunk: Hold all 4 turbos and dunk from alittle past the free throw line.
Give 'n Go: Toggle the right analog to pass it then hit X to get it back.
Pocket Gamebreaker: Just hit select.
Cancel Gamebreaker: Hold 2 turbos and hit select.
Level 2 Gamebreaker: See Gamebreaker in Offense section.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pickup Game Mode
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Allows you to play an exhibition game against either the computer or one of your
friends. If you win 10, 15, and then 20 games you will unlock Bobbito, Just Blaze,
and Nelly and the St. Lunatics at each increment. If you play in each mode that
is available you will get Michael Jordan's throwback Jersey.
All games except Trick Point Challenge and Gamebreaker Wins can have the following
options; Play To: 1-50, Spot Points: 0-49 and Shot Clock: Off-48 seconds. Trick
Point Challenge can have a game from .1-10 million Trick Points with a spot from
0-9.9 million. Gamebreaker Wins can have a game to Level 1 or Level 2 Gamebreaker
with a spot of 0-90% for Level 1 Gamebreaker and 0-GB1+90% for Level 2 Gamebreaker
Note: Reward Points vary with difficulty: Got Game difficulty gets you 50 Reward
Points, Mad Game get you 100 Reward Points and Legendary gets you 150 Reward
Points.
The different modes are as follows:
Pick up Game: Play a game up to a set number of points.
Trick Point Challenge: Play a game up to a set number of trick points.
Dunks Only: Play a game where only dunks count for points.
No Gamebreakers: Gamebreakers do not count towards your score.
NBA Scoring: Play a game with 2 point shots and 3 point shots.
Old School Scoring: Play a game with no long range shots.
Gamebreaker Wins: The first player to score the Gamebreaker wins the game.
Back to Basics: No gamebreakers or trick points. Just ball.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NBA Challenge Mode
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go against all the teams in the nation and end up playing the All-Stars of the
region you are in. Beating this grants access to many rewards and a trophy, and do
not forget all the reward points you will recieve for making it through every
team in the league. I will not provide a walkthrough for each individual team
since they all play near the same, minor notes will be added for teams that do not
apply to this. Bosses are different on the other hand and the rewards afterwards
will be added along with a good strategy to beat them.
Note: As the level of difficulty increases the more Reward Points you get at the
end of the game. Got Game provides only 100 Reward Points, Mad Game provides a
decent 200 Reward Points, and Legendary provides a healthy 300 Reward Points.
------------------------------------Central--------------------------------------
All the games in the Central take place at Foster Beach. Play through the Chicago
Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Millwaukee Bucks, and
the Minnesota Timberwolves and you can play the boss of this region. Only thing to
watch for in this region is the Bucks 3-point shooting and Detroits ability to
rebound.
Boss: Central Legends
The bosses here are the Central Legends; Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler and Isiah
Thomas. Larry Bird is the "Legend" and if you know anything about basketball you
know that he has an excellent shot so your job is to make him not want to by
blocking him every chance you get. Clyde Drexler can dunk so stop him from getting
in low to post up. After the game you get the NBA Legends Larry Bird, Clyde
Drexler and Isiah Thomas. And if you beat this region without any losses you
unlock Street Milestone #7 and get Walt Frazier's throwback Jersey.
-----------------------------------South West------------------------------------
All the games in the South West take place at Lincoln College. Play through the
Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers,
Pheonix Suns, and the San Antonio Spurs and you can play the boss of this region.
The Lakers are the hard team here since they have Kobe and Shaq but just block
Kobe and dunk on Shaq to beat them.
Boss: South West Legends
The bosses here are the South West Legends; Dominique Wilkins, James Worthy and
Moses Malone. Dominique Wilkins is the main guy in this one and he dunks alot so
shut him down. James Worthy can also shoot so watch for him being open. After the
game you get the NBA Legends Dominique Wilkins, James Worthy and Moses Malone.
And if you beat this region without any losses you unlock Street Milestone #8 and
you get Oscar Robertson's throwback Jersey.
-----------------------------------North East------------------------------------
All the games in the North East take place at The Cage. Play through the New
Jersey Nets, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, New York
Knicks, and the Toronto Raptors and you can play the boss of this region.
Nothing hard here just beat them and head to the boss.
Boss: North East Legends
The bosses here are the North East Legends; Wilt Chamberlain, Nate Archibald and
Bill Russell. Wilt Chamberlain is the "Stilt" and he blocks like crazy so try and
get by him to get a jam or make a long range shot. After the game you get the NBA
Legends Wilt Chamberlain, Nate Archibald and Bill Russell. And if you beat this
region without any losses you unlock Street Milestone #9 and you get James
Worthy's throwback Jersey.
-----------------------------------South East------------------------------------
All the games in the South East take place at Broad Street. Play through the
Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Hornets, Miami Heat, and the
Atlanta Hawks and you can play the boss of this region. Orlando has Tracy McGrady
and New Orleans is just good so it could be a problem with those teams.
Boss: South East Legends
The Bosses here are the South East Legends; Darryl Dawkins, Bob Cousy and Oscar
Robertson. Darryl Dawkins is the main guy here so shut him down (he likes to dunk
alot if he couldn't tell with his dunks maxed). After the game you get the NBA
Legends Darryl Dawkins, Bob Cousy and Oscar Robertson. And if you beat this region
without any losses you unlock Street Milestone #10 and get Earl Monroe's throwback
Jersey.
------------------------------------North West-----------------------------------
All the games in the North West take place in Greenlake. Play through the Golden
State Warriors, Portland Trailblazers, Sacramento Kings, Seatle Super Sonics,
Utah Jazz, and the Denver Nuggets and you can play the boss of this region.
Portland and Sacromento are both good teams with decent blocking and shooting
in Chris Weber, Peja Stojakavich, and Rasheed Wallace.
Boss: North West Legends
The Bosses here are the North West Legends; Pete Maravich, George Gervin and David
Thompson. Pete is the main guy here so shut him down as a main priority, otherwise
it shouldn't be too hard. After the game you get the NBA Legends Pete Maravich,
George Gervin, and David Thompson. And if you beat this region without any losses
you unlock Street Milestone #6 and get Bill Russell's throwback Jersey.
Congratulations! You've completed the NBA Challenge mode of NBA Street Vol. 2.
Now you get a nice little trophy to go along with the others.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Be A Legend Mode
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Take your created baller and run him up against some local goons to try and build
him into a legend. Of course he won't always play the goonies but instead will
gain respect and progress thru-out the ranks. Many Street Legends are unlocked
through out this mode and Development Points are earned to increase your ballers
skills.
Note: You must have a created baller in order to play this mode.
First off I think it's good to know how the Development points are earned in order
to gain more and MAX out your baller.
Tricks: Scored by the amount of trick points you get while playing, I find that
for every 1,000,000 tricks you recieve 100 Development. So 100,000 trick points
would only get you 10 Development points.
Level 1 GameBreakers: You get 10 Development Points for executing one on Got Game
difficulty, 25 Development Points for executing one on Mad Game difficulty and
50 Development Points for executing one on Legendary difficulty.
Level 2 GameBreakers: You get 25 Development Points for executing one on Got Game
difficulty, 50 Development Points for executing one on Mad Game difficulty and
100 Development Points for executing one on Legendary difficulty.
Completed Court: When ever you complete a court (signified by a check) you earn
100 Development Points at the end of the last game.
Win/Lose: You get 100 Development Points for a win on Got Game difficulty, 150
Development Points for a win on Mad Game difficulty and 200 Development Points for
a win on Legendary difficulty. Of course you get nothing for loss.
You also get rewards for building your reputation:
Level 1: Rookie
Reward: Jerry West Throwback Jersey
10 Development Points
Level 2: Baller
Reward: David Thompson Throwback Jersey
10 Development Points
Level 3: All Star
Reward: Get a nickname according to style of play
10 Development Points
Level 4: Super Star
Reward: Boss Move the Nique and Domique Wilkins Throwback Jersey.
10 Development Points
Level 5: Legend
Reward: George Gervin Throwback Jersey
10 Development Points
To start go pick up a baller and then pick up some local ballers and head to
