Karaoke Revolution Country - Strategy Guide (Page 05)

Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Karaoke Revolution Country - Strategy Guide (Page 05).

================================================================================
| D. Strategies                                                                |
================================================================================

This section is meant to give you strategies to keep in mind while singing the
songs to help you aim for a high score. The first and most general strategy
is to PRACTICE! Nothing can beat practice, so keep singing a song until you
master it to your satisfaction. Here are some other general strategies:

Sing in your register - If a song is too high for you, sing it an octave lower
  and if it's too low then sing higher. The game automatically corrects for
  the octave and you won't be penalized. All you have to match is the pitch.
Learn the song - Listen to a song a few times to get it in your head. Once
  you can sing it to yourself, try it out on the game.
Sing at your level - If you're a new singer, or if you aren't very confident
  in your talents, start on Easy mode. After you begin getting very high or
  even perfect scores in Easy, move to Medium, and so on. Practicing on the
  lower levels can help you master the songs just like listening.
Get help - If you're still having trouble, find a friend or family member
  that's also a good singer. Have him/her sing with you or teach you any
  tricks they know. Singing with someone else is a great way to unleash your
  inner voice.
Learn the rhythms and repeats - If a song has a certain rhythm throughout,
  follow it and use it to your advantage while singing. Similarly, if a song
  has a certain phrase repeated a number of times, such as the chorus, learn
  that part. Once you have that one section mastered, you may have learned
  half the song or more! Then just fill in the rest of the song and you're
  on your way!
Don't sing the words - If a particular song or section is giving you a lot
  of trouble, try humming the notes or singing on "Ooh" until you get it
  down, then add in the words later.

For the rest of the strategies I'm going to split them up into three sections,
one for each difficulty of song, and then I'm going to split them up further,
sometimes to the different songs.

Specific strategies for songs - COMING SOON! Probably in the next update.

|| 5. Multiplayer Modes (One Mic Party) ||
================================================================================

Much of this information is taken from my KR3 FAQ. If any of it is incorrect,
please email me and I will fix any errors.

===========
|A. Arcade| 2-8 Players
===========
The multiplayer Arcade mode is very similar to the single player Quickplay
mode; however, instead of singing by yourself to achieve the best score you
can, the object in the multiplayer mode is to outscore your opponents by
singing your song better than your opponents. The screen layout is also
identical when you're singing the song and just after you complete it. After
you see the last player's statistics, a screen will come up that shows each
player's ranking or score (square to toggle) for that song and their overall
ranking. The biggest difference between Arcade and Quickplay is that there is
a set number of rounds, from 1 to 5, that can be played to determine the
champion.

===========
|B. Medley| 2-8 Players
===========
The Multiplayer Medley mode works very much like the single player mode. You
must choose the number of players, how many songs are in each medley, how many
rounds to play, and which (if any) rounds are to be random. The difficulty
of each song is displayed in the bottom right corner of the selection screen.
After all players have made their selections, the round begins. Scoring is
the same as in the single player round, but instead of standing alone the
scores are compared. After each round a screen will appear with each player's
score or round standings (push Square to toggle) and overall standing.

=================
|C. KR Challenge| 2-8 Players
=================

KR Challenge combines everything in KR into one package. Compete in 2-5
events aimed at determining the ultimate KR champion. Available options
include random songs, minigames, and "advanced events" that turn off lyrics,
note bars, make you sing random and unannounced songs, and throw other
twists into the mix. The KR challenge is a great party option and can make
your KR experience better than ever!

================================================================================
|| 6. Multiplayer Modes (Two Mic Party) ||
================================================================================

==========
|A. Duets|
==========
Duets are songs that are sung cooperatively by two players at the same time.
They are new to Volume 3 and add a new dimension to gameplay. The duet is
scored similar to the single player modes, but the score is split between
the two parts. There are two types of duets, unison and true duets.

Unison Duets: These songs are solo songs, so both players since the part in
unison. The score for these songs is 25000 per player for a total of 50000.
True Duets: These songs are duet songs, so each player has his or her own
part to sing. The scores are not divided equally between players, so one
player may get a higher score than the other. However, the scores still add
up to 50000.

Duets can be played with one team, cooperative, or multi-team, teams against
each other.

The True Duet songs are:

Does He Love You
Don't Worry 'Bout a Thing
Gone
It's Five O'Clock Somewhere
It's Your Love
Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys
When The Sun Goes Down

See the Song Guide for the breakdown of lyrics in the true duets.

================
|B. Duet Medley|
================
The Duet Medley mode is basically a combination of Duet mode with Medley mode.
You can pick 3-5 songs to sing and a section of each song becomes part of the
medley. Your total score can be up to 50000, though individual scores depend
on whether unison or true duets are chosen, and whether the total number of
phrases for one player is equal to the second. See the single player Medley
section for more information.

==============
|C. Knock Out|
==============
In Knock Out mode, players sing the entire song in unison. There is a bar on
the left side of the screen between the players' scores. If one player scores
better than another on a phrase, the bar will move toward the other player. If
the bar moves completely to one player's side, the game is over and the player
who scored better wins. If the players manage to finish the song, the player
with the higher score wins. If both players have the same score it is a draw.

=====================
|D. Knock Out Medley|
=====================
Knock Out and Medley modes combined. See the Medley section in the single
player modes and the Knock Out section above for more information.

=============
|E. Sing Off|
=============
In this mode, players take turns singing parts of a song's verses then sing
the chorus in unison. The player with the higher score at the end of the song
wins the round. If both players have the same score it is a draw.

=================
|F. KR Challenge|
=================
KR Challenge with two microphones. Same premise as the one mic KR Challenge,
but using two mics allows for sing off and knock out to be thrown into the
mix of possible modes. See the one mic KR challenge section for more details.

================================================================================
|| 7. Minigames                                                               ||
================================================================================

=====================
|A. Beach Volleyball| (One and Two Mic Party)
=====================
This game is pretty simple, just match the pitch played by the game to move
your players into position. Miss and the other team gets a point. First side
to 10 wins the game. You can play a one-player version against the computer,
with varying difficulty from easy to expert (just like the song judging) in
the one mic party or a versus game against a friend in the two mic party.
You can pick from a low, mid, or high vocal range for the pitches to match.

====================
|B. Yo! Dude! Rock!| (One and Two Mic Party)
====================
Again, pretty simple. Each word, "Yo," "Dude," and "Rock" is given a different
pitch (C, E flat, and G respectively for those who know music notes) and you
need to sing that pitch when they reach the section of lights on the stage to
send them flying into the crowd. Each person is worth 1000 points and there
are 50-60 people that appear in 60 seconds. You can pick from a low or high
range for the pitches to match. (The pitches are the same, the person just
sounds different for each range. The game itself works just like the songs,
and it will change the octave automatically.)

============
|C. Fanfare| (Two Mic Party ONLY!)
============
This one involves a little more skill and thought because the playes need to
cooperate in order to play. Player 1 controls the on-screen character in the
vertical direction while player 2 controls the horizontal. They must work
together by singing pitches to maneuver the character to the gifts thrown on
stage by the fans. There are at least four stages, and the following gifts
appear in each stage:

Stage 1: Cards
 - - One card appears on stage at a time, and another appears after you get
     the first or after a period of time elapses and it disappears.
Stage 2: Cards, Chocolates, Flowers (bouquets)
 - - Multiple gifts appear on stage at once, and more appear as you collect
     gifts or they disappear.
Stage 3: Watches
 - - One watch appears on stage at a time, just like with the cards.
Stage 4: CDs
 - - A bunch of CDs are thrown onto the stage and you have to run around and
     collect them all. Once they are all collected, a new bunch will be
     thrown onto the stage.

The gifts are worth the following:
Cards: 500-600 pts
Chocolates: 500-600 pts
Flowers: 500-600 pts
Watches: 350 pts, +3 sec on timer
CDs: 200 pts

You have 60 seconds plus whatever time you get with the watches to get as
many points as possible. You can pick from a low, mid, or high vocal range
for the pitches to match.

|| 8. Extras                                                                  ||
================================================================================

================
|A. High Scores|
================
This section records all the highest scores you have achieved in the songs in
their full length. If you play them in Showtime or Quick Play and Full Song,
your score will be compared to that already in the high score table and if it
is higher, it will become the new high score. Each difficulty has a separate
table for the songs.
