^@^ INTRODUCTION ^@^
 !~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!
Solving puzzles, I mean fun action-puzzles. Shoot them up! and next,
solve the dangerous puzzles on your face.

Nice variations on level design will keep you busy and challenged.
This is a game for everyone to enjoy its (Halloween) educational contents.

The puzzles itself are more likely action puzzles inside every door
on every floor inside the mansion. Inside every door there are enemies,
in every alley there are enemies. Enemies can re-spawn in random ways.
This is a haunted mansion after all.

There is no '1UP' here, but there are more than enough Fortune Cards scattered
around the mansion to make you rich in lives. (10FCs = 1UP)

If you like puzzle games, you should at least try to play it.
The more you play the more challenge will you get.
The enemies also got stronger and stronger (try museum).

Of course there is always a minority report to show you where the bad guys are
It is not an RE series, but a nice designed puzzle world (doors) with some
ghost buster thingy inside every door and some action (shooting) packed into
one Holiday Mansion.

You will get codes when you beat this game in normal mode and another code
in nightmare mode.

Notice that you cannot re-do the puzzle once you have cleared it the first time
That's why you need to get all the Fortune Cards before you finish each puzzle!
Well, that if you want to collect all of them to get the perfect score.
(Spoiler: You can use the Level Select Codes :)

It is also possible to finish the game with a minimum use of Bravery Tonics.

I will keep updating this FAQ as necessary, up to the final version.
That is why I need help from you guys to drop something useful to this FAQ.

There is a brand new section I devoted for all of ‘you' who intend to
give help in completing this faq and to discover more secrets
inside this game. Your helps mean so much to me and to all readers.
Thank you very much to all of you who have spent some time to contribute
to this faq. Please read the "Submission" section under the Miscellaneous.

===============================================================================
So far we have found 356 Fortune Cards scattered around the mansion.
I suspect there are 4(four) more Fortune Cards inside a secret room?
that has not been found. It is a possibility. Wake me up when you have
found them and I will give you ALL the credits worth.
===============================================================================

And please read about the Level Select Code!

Also thanks to Dave who reminded me to use spelling checker :)

                                      ^^

^@^ MAIN CHARACTERS ^@^
 !~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!
1. Zeke Hollowayl
He is our accidental(y) hero. Mislead by the newspaper job advertisement
for the position of Assistant Caretaker (for the mansion). He will then be
guided by Madame Leota to regain control of the mansion as well as to
release imprisoned souls. Some 'friendly old ghosts' will then reward you
with Soul Gems to upgrade your Beacon's power in order for Zeke to save
our Haunted Mansion and bring back its original beauty from the hand of
Atticus Thorn, the grand master of the Order of Shadows.

2. Madame Leota
She is the lady inside the crystal ball, giving you hints or clues on how
to do things and to escape from room puzzles. A very helpful character.
At the beginning she will grant you the Sacred Lantern/Beacon and the
White Soul Gem. She is also the 'key person' to deal with Atticus Thorn.

3. The Duelist
One of the 'Friendly Ghosts' who will reward you with Purple Soul Gem
in exchange for his Death Certificate.

4. The Organist
One of the 'Friendly Ghosts' who will reward you with Orange Soul Gem
in exchange for his Death Certificate.

5. The Knight
One of the 'Friendly Ghosts' who will reward you with Yellow Soul Gem
in exchange for his Death Certificate.

6. Opera Singer
One of the 'Friendly Ghosts' who will reward you with Blue Soul Gem
in exchange for her Death Certificate.

7. Old Lady
One of the 'Friendly Ghosts' who will reward you with Soul Gem
in exchange for her Death Certificate.

8. Pirate
One of the 'Friendly Ghosts' who will reward you with Seaman Ring
in exchange for his Death Certificate.

9. Atticus Thorn
You bet he is the kinda guy who takes a happy responsible for all the bad
things happening to our beloved mansion. He is not that powerful enough
physically, but he is a grand master mind in building puzzles/trap to
stop anybody from releasing the dark magic spell upon the world of
   the Louisiana mansion.

10.There are also other friendly ghosts who will show up once you have cleared
the puzzle in each room. You can talk to them if you want. Usually, they
have two different saying when you press the activation button on them.

 !~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!
*L3 button
Use it to Move your character around.

*R3 button
Use it to Rotate the Camera to see things around.

*Down/up/left/right pad
To show hint/clues from Madame Leota in every room.

*Square button
Use it to Activate things. (Action buttons)
You can detect hiding ghost inside things using this button or to open doors
and to turn on the lights.

*Circle button
Use it to complete your task as a Soul Collector.
It sucks the soul you deploy from things after you use the square button.
Kinda ghosts buster thingy. Press it multiple times to attract more than one
soul and then hold it to suck all the targeted souls. They won't try to escape
which make things (very)easier though.

*X button
Use it to Jump to a higher ground/platform.

*Triangle button
Use it to adjust the Look of the Camera.
Press it and the camera is viewing from behind you.
You can also use it in combination with R3 button to search around(no zooming)
If you are holding down the Fire Button (R1), press Triangle to Get a better
front view, and then use the L3 button to search for target (up, down, left,
right).

*L1 button
Use it to Lock on your movement.
You will be aiming at the same direction as when you press this button,
just use L3 button to move around and to avoid enemy's shoot.

*R1 button
Use it to Fire or Charge Fire by holding it down a few seconds depending on
which weapon level you desire to shoot at the enemy. If you want rapid fire,
you need to press it rapidly, if are holding it a bit longer, then you can
release a more powerful shot (later when you get another Soul Gems). There is
an indicator at the lower left corner to show you all the various shots marked
with the color of the gems you have had given from your friendly ghost.
See items and location of Soul Gems.

*L2 button
The Camera will show you the left side area. Unclockwise.

*R2 button
The Camera will show you the right side area. Clockwise.

^@^ HINTS AND TIPS ^@^
 !~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!
Hints and Tips:
1. Basically when you open a door and go inside a room, it is dark. Your job is
to find the light switch and activate it. On the way pick up some useful
items plus shoot some enemies. After, use square buttons on 'everything' in
the room to locate hiding ghosts and when they are running away, use circle
button to suck them all into your Sacred Lantern/Beacon.

2. Usually the 'thing' will be shaking when you are near to it so you will
   know where they are hiding.
+I will try to explain what things to be activated in a clockwise and
chronological method. It means, I will be explaining which item to press
the square button starting form the left side of the door when you first
came in. That also goes for second floors. If any exception, then I will
    put a brief description.

3. When your health is full you can not pick up/use Bravery Tonic.
It will remain there until you get hit/damage and decided to take advantage
of it. Exception is for Mumbo Doll (Full Health Recovery), you can use it
even though your health/bravery is in full/maximum condition
(but why should you use it now?).

4. You are able to go back to the previous places since you have opened certain
doors. This will enable you to use Health Replenish items you left behind.
Keeping these useful items for later use is advisable
(or you do not need to use them at all?).

5. Dead Certificates are very important since it is the only way to upgrade
your weaponry. Make sure you get it completed before you meet with the
appointed Friendly Ghost to get your reward(s). (You just can’t miss them)
+I use -1- to indicate a ghost captured.
I use (1) to indicate a Fortune Card obtained.
I use <1> to indicate a piece of Death Certificate obtained.
I use ^1^ to indicate a Bravery Tonic.
I use *1* to indicate a Mumbo Doll.
I use @ to indicate a color Soul Gem.

6. You can avoid danger from your enemies in a few ways:
*You can crush spiders by stepping on them but when there are some
of them, it's better to shoot. Higher chance to crush them when you
turn your back and step on them or make a curve turn back then step
on them. If you go face to face then you are losing Bravery.
*Instead of shooting all the ghosts chasing at you, activate the light
    switch will make them disappear.
*In some cases, you may escape yourself by running away, but some of them
may come after you no matter where you are or just waiting for you to
lower your defense. So. better finish the job.

7. If you think that activating more than one thing when doing ghosts hunting
will save you some time? think again. It is not gonna work because the
previous ghosts will then return to their respective places and that only
means you have to reactivate the same things to make them reappear, thus
it is not so called efficient.

8. You can always drag your enemies out and find a better place to shoot them

Why? Because this will save your Bravery a lot in the end. Some places
will give you surprise welcomes and it will be difficult for you to fully
destroy them in time not to mention sometimes the space available is not
   to your advantage.

9. If you get out of a room after collecting items and reenter the room, the
enemies will re spawn for your pleasure. This way you can save your progress
before reentering the same room. Please note that they will re spawn only
when you have not completed the room's puzzle/turn on the light.

10.All bonus (health replenish) items will be gone after completing one room,
except for the original items designed to be available since the first time
   you enter the room.

11.Be careful of random enemies.

12.Whenever you are critically injured, go to save point, save your game.
Quit, then reload your save data. Your Bravery will be fully restored!
Is this considered a full health cheat?

13.Sadly this game is not supporting the 'save to a new file' option.
You have to do it 100% completed in the first place since you can not go
back to each room and redo/replay the fun puzzle again. sighh..
(And give us more work to do when creating the faq for this game ):

14.The camera is sometimes not to your advantage, especially when you are
holding down the lock down (L1) button. You just can not see all the
enemies around in one shot. Sometimes you need to release it, look around
   then hold down L1 again.

15.When the enemies show up, they usually make some noises.
Listen to it and tighten up your seatbelt.

16.The lock down button is sometimes/usually not automatically focus to the
nearest enemies chasing at you when you are running away while keep holding
the button. You have to release the button then relock the enemies. Pheew.
Not to mention that the (sprinter)spiders can run very fast and
   keep tracking of your shoes.

17.Full brightness option will be a much help to view things in distance/in the
dark. When you turn off your PS2, this setting will be automatically reset.
You need to go back to the options and readjust the brightness every time
you start your PS2 even though you had already saved your previous setting.

18.Remember, you can use one of the directional pad to get hint or clue from
Madame Leota about how to finish the job in each room.
(only if you are stuck, please)

19.Most enemies have its own stronger version as you go on further levels.
For example ghost at the Upstairs Hallway can eliminate your full bravery
just by touching you two times.

20.The blue ripper is considered as the most dangerous regular enemy beside
those speedy trolls. Hope the hint below is to your help.
Tip on how to beat the blue ripper:
-On the first show up, you might be able to charge shot two times.
-Do not touch him. Keep running in a circle. Or back and forward. I mean
if you are going in one line, keep steady, don't change course, not until
    he reappears.
-Prepare ultra shot, hold down locking, release ultra when it is ready.
(before he reappears) Its electric charge will be giving him damage.
-Quickly prepare charge shot. When he reappears, you will be automatically
facing him thanks to your locking system. Quickly release your charge shot.
It will give him quite damage. Don't forget to jump avoid his ripper swing
   -Repeat the process.

Well, shall we...

Once you start, Madame Leota will brief you.
She will then give you the Sacred Lantern/Beacon, which is your single weapon
for the entire game and a @White SG attached to the Beacon.
(Totally there are 6 SGs; @White, @Purple, @Orange, @Yellow, @Blue, @Red)

Out of the basement,

                                     ~^^~
                     ~(:)~ Cheers for Halloween ~(:)~.
<^> Good luck to Hollowayl <^>
                         ^ ~^^~ ^

You will then be given a tip on how to activate the light (switch).

You may go back to the basement by activating the wing statue next to the
fireplace, but nothing available at the moment.

As you proceed forward, to your left (wall) (clockwise, remember?) there are
paintings hanging on the wall. Activate the 3rd one. You will definitely
notice its shaking anyway. Inside the room is *1*MD (Full Health Recovery).
You do not need that now!

Continue forward, cut scene, here comes first trouble.
Also, a new tip has arrived to show you on how to shoot the enemy by pressing
rapidly the R1 button. You can also start practicing
the locking system (automatic locking + relocking)
There are 8 ghosts to show up if you are waiting for them
or just go directly to the light switch and activate it.

There is ^1^BT on the left of the door to the Foyer and to the right is
the LIGHT SWITCH! Activate it, all the lights on.
Your Bravery bar is increasing because you are not afraid of light!:)~

Next thing to do:

On the Hall, there is a lady ghost commenting on the bad weather/
unnatural storm.

create a new game data that you must go back to the Menu Screen and then
choose new game.

Move to the picture next to the door to the Great Hall, activate it, you will
then be inside the picture. Get going to the second floor. Go to the right,

Years have passed since our defeat. But we do not sleep yet, and the plaque
has proven quite effective at reducing the Brotherhood's numbers. Folly
it was to believe we were no longer a threat and to lower their defenses.
For, the shadows crawl eastward from the setting sun, so too does the reach
of the order-extending to encircle the globe.

Continue forward until the second party shows up. Shoot some ghosts and
spiders. To your left is (1)FC, to your right is ^1^BT.

Continue forward. Another ^1^BT on top the piano. Activate the piano.
Automatically, the books will be the bridge for you (moving platform).
On the way jump up to get(1)FC. Follow the platform. If you fall down,
you must start from the beginning. (did you see the big spider?)
When you reach the second floor/terrace, activate the violin.
This will result in changing course of the platform to the next Terrace
on the opposite. A set of steel stairs is also attached to the first terrace

just in case you need to redo the platform.
On the first terrace you get (1)FC.

On the next platform to the second terrace, be careful of some ghosts.
On the 1st floor, there are some spiders crawling under your position.
For safety reason (to preserve your Bravery), I suggest you to drop down
to the 1st floor and destroy those spiders and ghosts then use the
attached steel stairs and redo the second platform.
Keep going. Once you reach the terrace, 3 spiders are waiting for you.
You may need to drop down again and destroy the annoying spiders.
Take the stairs to the second terrace and get (1)FC.
Activate the violin on the other corner.

The third and final platform. At the end, you must sneak in between books
which moves to left and right in order to block your move.
Watch the pattern and you should be alright.

Turn on the light please. A pair of side stairs is attached.
There is *1*MD on the third terrace. But why should I use it now?

As a bonus there is another ^1^BT on top of the table on the first floor.
Remember the spiders are back on the 1st floor. Finish them.

There is (1)FC on top of the left poker deck and another (1)FC on top of the
right poker deck. Before you take it, it's better to clean up the room a bit.
Shoot all the ghosts and spiders in the room.

Continue forward. Cut scene. After, rapid shoot the big spider on top the
pool table. As long as you are still in good distance to his mouth,
there is nothing to worry about.

Another (1)FC on top the pool table. Care to take it?
Alright, now is the 9 balls time!

All you need to do is - playing 9 balls.
Only, somebody else holding the stick for you and you are the pointed target.
Try to move and the stick will follow your movement, thus give you freedom
in aiming the stick.
Your goal is to clear the table out of the balls, getting them inside
the pocket.
Not as easy as saying words, there will be ghosts appearing to stop you from
winning. (If the ball out of the table, it will count to your advantage too)

There are some items you can get on the table:
^1^BT on the left side, another ^1^BT on the right side. (1)FC on the
down center side, (1)FC on the top center side, (10)FCs on the table, right on
the start point of the 9 ball.

Hints/tips:
-There are 6 pocket holes. That's the place where ghosts will come after you
when you are near to each one of it. For example,
if you are standing near one pocket, ghosts will come out that hole.
But, if you run away and get near another pocket hole, a new group of ghosts
will be chasing at you too. Don't do that.
Instead, finish your first job then move on to another side/corner.
-You should listen to the voice of the ghosts.
-Don't fall down the table, please. It will reduce your Bravery.

After all the 9 balls goes down to the pocket, the switch appears on the middle
of the table. Activate it to get back to the previous room.
