v)    Additional Notes
`````````````````````````````````````````````
There are a few points that you take note of:-
 - At the beginning of each chapter, every Georama area has been
   awarded with a fixed number of Polyn Points (creation points)
   Sindain - 4000 Polyn      Balance Valley - 6000 Polyn
   Veniccio - 6000 Polyn     Heim Rada - 8000 Polyn
 - Polyn Points are necessary for Georama building. Every object has
   a fixed amount of polyn points. When being placed, the area's polyn
   point decreases. Once an area's polyn reaches zero, you cannot
   place any more objects.
 - You can paint on houses, buildings, fences, etc. Larger objects such
   as houses requires more paint. Paint can be bought from Parn.
 - Certain objects can be only build once. E.g. the Generator for Heim
   Rada.
 - Objects in Chapter 7 cannot be placed elsewhere and objects in normal
   Georama area cannot be placed in Chapter 7 too.
 - Certain objects can be joined up to form bigger objects. A piece of
   pier can only support a house. Likewise, there is a magnet option,
   which could join objects together.
 - A house can only resides one person. Each support character has his/
   her own preferences. Once an house is unoccupied, you will find a
   signboard that states "Vacant House".
 - You can buy Georama Materials from Conda (most), Morton (till
   Chapter 8), Borneo, Rufio, Aunt Polly (ingredients only) & Gordon.
Prelude
``````````
The game begins with a girl being chased after by a group of enemy
soldiers. There will be a simple battle using the girl for the combat.
Defeat all monsters and the cutscene will flow to the present.

You are now playing the male lead character - Maximillian, an
apprentice for Cedric at the Repair Shop. There will be a few more
cutscenes where you will need to get to work...

Your item inventory starts off as follows:-
Circus Ticket x1 Gun Repair Powder x3
Medal Holder x1 Tasty Water x3
Bread           x1        Antidote Drink     x2
Repair Powder   x3

(There is a Save Point along the staircase where you can save your
 game by making contact and hit X)

The steps are:-
1) Get a Wrench from the cupboard located on the right side of the
   room. Hint: You need to go southwest off the screen and make a
   turning towards north. You will find a wooden cabinet along with
   a book on the table. Examine the table and you will get the
   "Notebook", which will allow you to joint down notes for recruiting
   NPCs later in the game.
2) Move towards the vacuum cleaner (placed on the table) & start
   work...

There will be few more cutscenes and Max seems to be late for the
circus! Talk to the usher at the entrance of Circus. Hit Square and
select the Circus Ticket from the item box. There will be a few more
cutscenes. You need to get back your ticket...

Talk to everyone in the area except for the clown. Go and find a girl
near the balloons cart. Talk to her and it will trigger a cutscene. Max
will eventually recovers the ticket. Present the ticket and you will be
allowed to be admitted into the circus.

There will be more cutscenes at the circus and another introduction
battle involving Max begins. The key item "Wrench" has become "Battle
Wrench", the default weapon for Max. Wreck the enemies. If you need
healing, hit Triangle and choose "Bread" from your inventory. I would
recommend you to equip all the Bread on Max's item holders.

There will be a few more cutscenes and it will marks the beginning of
Chapter 1.

Sewer Entrance
````````````````
There will be a couple of cutscenes between Max and Donny. You will be
given some time to take a breather or you can just talk to Donny & ask
him about the underground sewer. Eventually, Max gets his ranged
weapon - Classic Gun and a Help Receiver.
Once you are done, proceed down the ladder and head for the sewers.
Choose "Yes" to proceed to the next floor. By the way, you can activate
the save menu with Triangle button & return back to the Sewer Entrance
(where Donny is) with Square button
 Here comes the dungeon part of Dark Cloud games. First of all, make
 sure you view the in-game help regarding dungeons. Donny will call
 Max and tells him on the requirements to clear this floor.
 Your objective is to defeat an enemy (random) that holds an item
 called "Gate Key". Use the Gate Key at the Gate (indicated by a large
 yellow dot) on the radar. Square button will activates any equipped
 item on the item holder while you are at dungeons.
 Beware of Froggy's breath attack as it could causes annoying status
 ailments such as Poison. If Max is poisoned, use a Poison Drink to
 restore the status.
 Just simply wack the enemies with your gun and wrench. You should have
 no difficulties. Once the weapon levels up, do not hestiate to perform
 synthesis to enhance the weapon's attributes. Refer to Part V for more
 details. As for the medal conditions, ignore it for the time being.
 This area is a bit more tricky due to flying enemies. For flying
 enemies, I recommend you to use Max's right-hand weapon - the gun to
 shoot them down. You can also hurl crates by pick them up with R1 and
 X and hit X to throw. If a crate hits a target, most of the enemies
 will be stunned. Thus allow you to unleash a combo where enemy is left
 Donny will make another call to Max - it is a nice reminder on
 upgrading your weapon due to stronger monsters. Upgrade the Cyclone
 and Smash attributes for Max's gun and wrench respectively if you have
 accumulated sufficient synth points.
 Beware of Turtle and Nightstalker - the newly found enemies. Turtle
 has the ability of guarding and causing heavy damage with its head
 bump due to the Rage Counter. The backflip (back+X, with target lock
 -on the enemy) comes handly. Nightstalker has the ability to toss
 fireballs with homing capabilities at Max, thus making your life
 difficult. It can also do a devastating spin move. Dodge the fireballs
 and approach close to wreck heavy damage with Max's Wrench.
 There is a new feature available - you will find a Channel Key from
 the chests in the dungeon. Channel Key allows you to excess the locked
 area in the current dungeon. The usage is the same as the Gate Key.
 paying the Mayor a visit while the task of making an Energy Pack for
 Ridepod is up to Max's hands. You will be taught on how to use the
 another key item - Inside Scoops Memo.
 TIP: Always equip the camera on Max's item holder. There are some
      important photo shots that can only BE TAKEN ONCE.
 For details regarding the camera, please refer to Part 3 of the FAQ.
 To make the Energy Pack, you need the following photos -
 Strategy
 `````````
 You begin the battle with Max riding the Ridepod. Depress L3 button (
 left analog stick) to switch to Max. Note that you cannot damage Linda
 with Max's weapons. Your objective is to nap the photo shot with Max.
 Linda seldom uses that attack but it seems to me that you can force
 her to use it by wacking on the elephant's hind legs. Take the shot
 at a comfort zone as Linda can do a rather heavy damage on Max.
 Therefore, it is advisble to stock up Bread prior to the battle.

 Linda's has only 2 attacks, the tusk whip and vertical hind stomp.
 You can actually drive Ridepod forward and whip up the boss with its
 cannonball punches ^_^:). If you did not take the photo shot, it is
 advisible to restart this game.

 After you have defeated the boss, proceed down the walkway and exit
 the Ridepod. Examine the door and you will be able to move out of the
 area.

 Managing Ridepod TIPs:
 Steve is a machine and its fuel will goes down as it wonders around in
 dungeons. To refuel, you need to approach Cedric or use an item
 called "Ridepod Fuel" which can only be obtained from chests/crates/
 stones in dungeon.

 To increase RIDEPOD's attack, movement or defense, you can get new
 parts from Cedric by talking to him and choose "Upgrade Ridepod"
 option.

 The battles are getting tougher. In this dungeon, you will encounter
 Vanguard (a robot) which can only be defeated by Ridepod. You can
 switch between Max and Ridepod by depressing R3 button (right analog
 stick). While riding the Ridepod, its fuel will start to deplete as
 you move. To refuel, you need to get out of the battlefield and visit
 Cedric to refuel or use an item called Ridepod Fuel (obtained from
 braking crates or chests, which is random).

 Georama Supplies (available until you unlock Georama System)
 Unknown Bone, Scrap of Metal, Hunk of Copper , Thick Hide

 Spheda Prize: 1x Treasure Chest Key

 Chests in this area do not seem as simple as the previous ones. It
 may be empty, a bloody-trap, Happy Clown present or even Mimics.
 Watch out for the King Mimic as you need to defeat it with Ridepod.
 In my opinion, it is advisible to move around the field with Max and
 once you encounter an enemy such as Vanguard, switch to Ridepod and
 finish the enemy off.

 Upon exiting the dungeon, visit Cedric's shop for refuel. At the
 entranceway of Cedric's Repair Shop, near the trash cans, you can
 find a mini-chest containing Potato Pie (increases Max's defense by
 4). Head left from the Save Point and you will find another chest
 containing the Fruit of Eden (raises max HP by 8) near the wooden
 crates. Make some preparations as a boss fight is coming soon...

 Save your game!

 This boss fight is relatively easy except for getting the Scoop.
 Switch to Max. The boss will fire red balloons (i.e. bombs), which can
 be grab and hurl towards the enemy. It will cause the boss to fall and
 you can switch to Ridepod quickly for a quick attack!

 The boss has a couple of attacks - 1) nose missile - two missile
 launches from the nose of the boss with homing capabilities. You need
 to take the scoop photo for this. 2) splash - the boss leaps into
 mid-air and comes with a huge splash. 3) red bombs - the boss fires
 giant red balls that explodes after a certain time lapse. These bombs
 can be grab and thrown at the boss itself! 4) shockwave - close-range
 attack for Halloween.

 If you fight the battle for a while, the boss will unleashes Flotsam
 Balloon which has its own HP and Rage Counter. Defeat them with Max.

 Max is finally on his way out of Palm Brinks. You will caught with
 Cedric who will brief Max about the evil being named Emperor Griffin.
 Max is going for a journey on Blackstone Ore (train) to restore back
 everything. In the controls room, a loud bang will be heard from
 outside. Cedric will ask Max to check it out. Save your game and exit.
 It is that Flotsam and a vehicle. A boss fight continues...

 There will be some more cutscenes and you will meet up with the red-
 haired boy who turns to be Monica, a woman from the Future. She will
 be part of your party...

 You will be given more introduction about Monica and you will get 5
 Armband Repair Powder for her armlet. To switch between Max and
 Monica, just depress the L3 button (left analog). Please note that
 you cannot switch from Ridepod to Monica. Anyway, the diagram below
 could help you to understand more about the L3 and R3 buttons more:-

 You have reach Sindain, the town of the Firbits and great tree,
 Jurak. However the origin point has been destroyed and you need the
 help of Firbits. You are now currently at Sindain Station.

 You will be introduced about the Support Character Features. You can
 get new support characters as you proceed onto the game. More details
 will be discussed under Part VII of the FAQ

 The Non-playable characters (NPCs) that have joined your party are:-
 1) Cedric - Repairs weapons, arm, refuel and make Ridepod's parts
 2) Erik - Sell you gunpowder and make bombs
 3) Bruno - Sell you ores and increase item aquisitions

 Cedric in my opinion, will be currently your best NPC for the time
 being as having the ability to repair and refuel during dungeons.
 Erik could make you super bombs - which does 100+ damage to target!
 You can create 6 of these bombs and sell them for 900 Glidas - an easy
 option for quick money in the game. Please note as you spent the
 ability points, you need to sent them back to the train for them to
 recover (it takes some game time). To get back Palm Brinks (more
 places are being accessible), use the Move Feature. I will discuss
 more about in the later part of the walkthrough.

 Away from the train, you can find a Save Point and a path that leads
 to Sindain.

 There are a lot of boulders, logs and trees in the vicinity. There is
 a Firbit's House and a Firbit. Attempt to enter the house and there
 will be a few more cutscenes. From the scenes, you will need to do
 the following objectives at the dungeon: Rainbow Butterfly Woods:-

 1) Locate the 4 missing Firbits
 2) Save Holly

 Conda will give you a key item - Grape Juice, which will be essential
 for you to locate their lost friends.
