Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Dark Cloud 2 - Strategy Guide (Page 05).
Coins can be found in dungeon chests starting in Rainbow Butterfly Wood,
won from fishing races/contests, or purchased from Morton's Sundries in
Chapter 8. A coins listing can be found under the Item Section. Please
note that there are no coins for Proverty and Fragile. These attributes
will cause you do not want them either.

>> Opposite Attributes - Removing undesired attributes
Some weapons come with unfavorable attributes such as Poverty by
default. You can remove these abilities by using the coin of its
opposite attribute. I.e. you need to synthesize a Wealth coin to
remove the Proverty attribute. Below is a listing of opposites:-
Wealth v. Poverty Critical v. Dark
Durable v. Fragile Absorb v. Heal
Finally, you can transfer the abilities of one weapon to another by
spectralizing a weapon and synthing it to another weapon. The
abilities will only transfer if the weapon you spectralize is +5 or
higher.
vi) Getting Crystals, Gems and Coins
``````````````````````````````````````````
As you spectralize an item, it requires 1 synthesis point to enfuse the
stats enhancement into a weapon. Some item requires more (especially
weapons). Crystals and Gems are very useful as they provides the best
upgrades to weapon stats enhancement as compared to other items.
Crystals are better materials than Georama Materials use for upgrading
your weapons. All of them (except for Protector Crystal & Attack
Crystal) gives you +3 to a stat instead of +2 or +1 from normal items.
They are cheap and relatively easy to get. However, you can get more
of them at will upon restoring Starlight Temple's Star Item shop, which
allows you to buy all the crystals for 150 Glidas each (exception: Power
Crystal costs 200 Glidas).
Gems are extremely rare. You can either win them as Georama prizes,
Monster transformation prizes, Spheda prizes, Finny Frenzy, Fishing
Tournament. It will be until Chapter 8 that you will be able to buy
them for 10,000 Glidas each. Exceptions: Diamond's selling price is
30,000 Glidas. The Sun Stone and Moon Stone cannot be bought unlike
the other gems. They are extremely rare and you can get some of them
from completing the Moon Flower Palace Georama Condition 100% and at
Zelmite Mines. You can get them from winning a Master Position at Finny
Frenzy though. All other gems can be bought from Morton's Sundries at
Chapter 8.
Coins does provide enhancement but they give support abilities such as
Steal, Poison, Stop, etc. Coins are rare as they can only be obtained
from random treasure chests or winning Sphedas only prior to Chapter 8.
As you reached Chapter 8, you can buy them (all except for Dark Coin &
Indestructible Coin) from Morton's Sundries. Dark Coin & Indestructible
Coin can only be bought Woody's Tailor Shop at Jurak Mall (future,
before Chapter 8).
vii) Faster level-ups
``````````````````````````````````
It sounds reasonable to defeat enemies that give you higher ABS will
provide better effect for level-ups of your weapon right. This is not
quite true. I have found out you can levelled up a weapon by having
using that to attack and kill enemy will give better results in
levelling up.
To provide faster level-ups, give your weapon a Level-Up Powder (which
can be obtained from winning Spheda or invention).

Items are the lifeblood of almost every RPGs. Dark Cloud 2 is no
exception except that every single item (except for key items) can be
spectralized into Synth items for synthesis into the character's
weapons. Items are being classified into severl major groups and they
are:-

i) A m u l e t s
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- These items protect your characters from a status ailment (stated in
the item) upon equipping in the item holders. They break if being
equipped for too long. You can carry a maximum of 20 items
- Amulets can retrieved from chests, breaking items or purchased it
from Granny Rosa for 150 Glidas each. You can only buy items unless
you have recruit Granny Rosa during Chapter 2.

- Coins can be obtained randomnly by winning it from dungeons via
defeating enemies and opening treasure chests.
- Coins can be spectralized and use for synthesis in weapons thus
giving your weapons support abilities.
- There is no coins for Poverty and Fragile.
- You can purchase most of these coins from Morton's Sundries in
Chapter 8.
- Indestructible Coin and Dark Coin can be bought from people (see
support Character list) or Woody's Tailor. However once Donny is
being recruited, you will not be buy them from shops anymore.

- You can get them from defeating enemies, stealing, buying and
treasure chests. You can purchase them from certain shops too.
- You can buy elemental crystals from Rufio for 150 Glidas. The
remaining crystals can be bought from Star Items in Starlight Temple
(future) from Chapter 3 onwards.
- In Chapter 8, you can buy all these crystals from Rufio.

Gems are extremely rare items unlike Crystals. They provide better
synthesizing effects despite using only 1 Synth points per gem. You can
bought them from Morton's Sundries (Chapter 8) for a price range
between 10,000 Glidas to 30,000 Glidas.
The Sun Stone and Moon Stone can be obtained by completing 100% Georama
for Moon Flower Palace in Chapter 7. You can get more of these from
winning Finny Frenzy or completing quests at Zelmite Mines in Chapter
8.

System.
- Ores can be purchased from Borneo, who joins at the beginning of
Chapter 2.
- Paints can be bought from Parn, after you have recruited him
- Some of them can be from Morton's Sundries too.

- They can also be used to raise fish's attributes for Finny Frenzy

Inside Scoop Memo
- Provides you with the list of photo scoops. Donny will reveal more
scoops as you move on in the game. It also provides hints for
getting the scoop
- Get it automatically when you got the camera
Monster Notes
- Provides you with a detail monster bestiary of all enemies (except
for bosses) such as amount of Glidas and ABS earned, monster's
weapon, region, etc.
- Buy it from Morton's Sundries for 1000 Glidas in Chapter 1
- Sheriff Blinkhorn can provide you with the data once you get him to
join you.
Album
- Allows you to have an extra photo storage of 50 photographs. It can
be used between different save files. This is the only method to
get scoops that you have missed.
- You need to have an extra 409 KB of memory storage for this file.
- Find the Album on the desk inside Max's room in Chapter 2
Key Equipment
----------------
Medals Holder
- Allows you to store medals earned from completing dungeons' medals
condition. Medals can be used for exchanging new clothing for Max
and Monica
- You will start the game with it.
Help Receiver
- Allows Max to receive help from Donny during Underground Channel
dungeon in Chapter 1
- It will be given to you automatically (from Donny)
Camera
- Allows Max to take pictures with it. Use it to gain photographer's
level or have the photos for ideas used invention! You can access
the Ideas Book & Album from the Camera menu. For more details,
please refer to Part III.
- It will be given to you by Cedric automatically upon exiting from
Sewers Pump Room of Palm Brinks in Chapter 1.
