Chaos Legion - Strategy Guide (Page 09)

Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Chaos Legion - Strategy Guide (Page 09).

The door will open when the Golem is destroyed. You'll also get
Phantom Life.

Note: Stop and let Sieg heal if you have to before continuing on to
       the next room.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Scene 3: Destroy the Target! (Zombies, Zombie Commanders, Cannon
                               Zombies)
------------------------------------------------------------------

=== TARGET: JENON ===

The next room has two staircases leading up to a Jenon. Around the
Jenon are two Cannons and a Cannon Zombie. Get between the Jenon and
the gate and use it as cover from the Cannon Zombie and Cannons. The
enemies respawn in this room. Move around the Jenon, too, so you
lessen the chances of being hit.

After the Jenon is destroyed, some more enemies like Zombie Soldiers,
Commanders, and a Rudo Garia will spawn downstairs. You must destroy
them all.

Destroy the Zombie Commanders to weaken their troops. Grab any items
that drop. Soon, the gate will open to the north. Pass through it
to reach a checkpoint.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Scene 4: Destroy the Target! (Cannon Zombies, Zombie Soldiers)
----------------------------------------------------------------

This room has a giant orb sculpture in the middle. Upon entering it,
two Cannon Zombies will fire at you and many Zombie Soldiers will
attack.

=== TARGET: ZOMBIE COMMANDERS ===

In a bit, three Zombie Commanders will pop up near the back of the
room. There are your main targets. Destroy the Cannon Zombies if
they get annoying. Attack the Commanders from behind and while they
are down. Always know where they are so you don't get pancaked.

When you destroy a few Zombie Commanders, more will appear. Keep
going until they are all gone.

Note: If they are overpowering you, run and jump around the room,
       dodging until you get a clear shot for an attack. Or, you could
       just use Thanatos' The Ignorant Masses to wipe them out.

Heal if you have to before continuing on.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Scene 5: Destroy the Target! (Zombie Commander, Zombie Soldiers)
------------------------------------------------------------------

=== TARGET: ZOMBIE COMMANDER ===

To the north in a small hall, you will find a Zombie Commander that
will send about eight Zombie Soldiers to attack you. After destroying
the Zombie Commander, you will receive Phantom Life, and a gate to the
east will open. Run in the room and grab the item in the center.

=== TARGET: GOLEM (TWICE) ===

Immediately, a Golem and four Cannon Zombies will appear in the room.
Destroy the Cannon Zombies as much as you can so they are minimally
annoying. Watch out for charges by the Golem. And attack it from
behind.

The Cannon Zombies will continue respawning, so move around as much
as possible or use Thanatos' The Ignorant Masses. Also, you can use
Double-jump and Despise moves to evade attacks if you have Flawed
Legion equipped or it is leveled-up to Enchant Level 4.

Note: If you have to, dash out of the room and around the corner to
       stop in a safe spot and heal.

You can also draw the Golem out into the hall around the corner.
That way, the Cannon Zombies won't hit you and Golem becomes easier
to defeat. After one Golem goes down, another will appear in the
room.

When the final Golem is destroyed, the gate to the west will open.

Note: There is a secret room that you can access from the room to the
       east, but, we'll worry about that later.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Scene 6: Destroy the Target! (Zombie Axmen, Jenon, Zombie Commander,
                               Zombie Soldiers)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

=== TARGET: JENON ===

Now, head west through the new corridor as it bends north (or right).
There, you will come across a Jenon and a Zombie Axman. Again, use
the Jenon as cover from the Zombie Axman as you attack it. Build up
your Soul Meter too.

=== TARGET: ZOMBIE COMMANDER ===

As soom as the Jenon is destroyed, a room to the west will open and
a bunch of Zombies will attack. Your target is the Zombie
Commander. If you want, use The Ignorant Masses to clear your
path. (Pick up the item in the center of this room.)

As soon as the Zombie Commander bites the dust, the gate to the
north in the hall will open.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Scene 7: Destroy the Target! (Danu Laser Cannons, Zombie Soldiers,
                               Zombie Axmen, Cannon Zombies)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

This next room is long and is filled with pillars. Also, you myst
be careful in here because there are Danu Laser Cannons. Only your
legions can destroy these.

Also, there are Zombie Soldiers and Zombie Axmen. Running on to
the back of the room, you'll spot your target.

=== TARGET: ZOMBIE COMMANDER ===

Behind this Zombie Commander is a row of Cannon Zombies. They will
blow you away if you're not careful. Draw the Zombie Commander away
from the Cannon Zombies and use the pillars as protection as you
attack it.

Note: Again, watch out for the Danu Cannons. Use your legions to
       destroy them.

Pick up any items that fall. Also, The Ignorant Masses is quite
effective in this area.

When the madness has passed. Move ahead through the gate to watch the
screen swirl and fade.  (Checkpoint!)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Scene 8: Round and Round We Go! (Zombie Commanders, Zombie Soldiers,
                                  Zombie Axmen)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This next area is rather interesting. It is essentially a long
hallway that bends all the way around to a gate. You must fight your
way through many enemies to reach your goal. But, this is a great
place to gain EXP and build up your Soul Meter.

From where you begin, run straight ahead (up the stairs) through some
Zombies and Zombie Commander. Then, head left up the twisting
staircase. You can fight enemies if you wish, but it is not
necessary.

Note: The enemies are in groups positioned at varying locations on the
       stairs.

At the top of the stairs, you'll encounter a small room. Heal up
outside the room if you need to because ahead is the boss fight for
the stage. (But, there is no checkpoint before the boss.)

*=====================================================================*
*////////////* BOSS: GOLEM, DANU CANNON (x2), OGMA DANU *\\\\\\\\\\\\*
*=====================================================================*

Okay, when you step into the room, the gate will shut and a Golem
will pop up with some Danu friends.

Remember, Danus can only be damaged by your legions. So, first, get
rid of the Danus. Either summon Thanatos and lock-on to each Danu,
letting him pound them to the ground. Or, use The Ignorant Masses.

Note: The Ogma Danus breathe fire, so be careful. Also, watch out
for blasts from the Danu Cannons.

Keep moving to not get. When the Danu monsters are destroyed, focus
on the Golenm until it is rubble. Watch out for when it charges at
you and also when it performs its signature yelling attack. Remember
to attack it from behind when you can. (You know what to do . . .)

Note: If all that just seems boring, one usage of The Ignorant Masses
       (Level 3 or higher) should wipe out the Danu mosters here.
       Then, either use it again for the Golem, or just summon Thanatos
       and let him do the work.

After the fight, pick up the item that drops and both gates will
open - the giant doors ahead of you and the gate leading back down
the stairs. If you want to end the level, move ahead through giant
doors. If you want some extra EXP and a few more items, read ahead.

-----------------------------------
Scene 9 (OPTIONAL): 100 Enemy Room
-----------------------------------

Note: To access this area, you might have to replay the level through
       to the boss.

If before going through the giant doors at the end of the stage, you
head all the way back down the stairs past the hall with the pillars,
you can gain access to that secret room I mentioned before.

To do it, go back to the small room to the west with the item in the
center. (There is a closed gate that won't let you go any farther.)
This is the room where you fought four Cannon Zombies and two Golems.

Now, pick up the item that is there now. Make sure your Soul Meter
is FULL - yes FULL - and that you have Thanatos leveled up to at
least Assist Level 3 (The Ignorant Masses Level 3).

Now, HORDES and HORDES of every Zombie creature imaginable will
appear, along with one Golem at a time. There are at least 8 waves
of enemies in this tiny room. This is extremely tough, but use The
Ignorant Masses constantly and attack enemies to keep your Soul Meter
filled.
Move around as much as you can. This is a tight squeeze. It may be
tough, but you can do it.

When that nightmare is over, the gate will open and the wall will
raise, revealing some nice tasty goodies. Now, to keep all the EXP
and items, run all the way back up the spiraling staircase and
through the giant doors at the end of the level.

Armageddon is coming.  I smell it . . .

                              END STAGE 13

| Now would be a good time to go back to any level in the game and |
| level up your legions. I suggest using the Spiritual Gems on all |
| your legions, especially Thanatos, if you haven't already. This |
| will "unlock" the legions' hidden power, and give you access to |
| their Enchant Level 4 abilities. Then, level-up every legion to at |
| least Enchant Level 4 (the Spirit Trancer ability) so you can use |
| some of their powers without having to equip them. |
|                                                                     |

~~ LEGION LAYOUT:  THANATOS & it doesn't matter ~~
--------------------------------------------------

~~~ MOVIE 9 ~~~
This is it.  The final stage!  Alright, there are three waves to this
fight.  First, you fight your good buddy Delacroix.  Then you face
Azrial.  And finally, Siela.
Now, I'll just say this now.  Stock up on Soul Recovery items before
entering the fight.  When the match begins, immediately use a Soul
Recovery L Gem to fill your Soul Meter to the max.  That way,
Thanatos is ready to go.
Now, on to the fight.
------------------
Part I:  Delacroix
------------------
The arena is basically a circle with two small platforms that jut off
the North and South ends.  Keep this mind.  Lock-on to Delacroix so
you can know where he is at all times.  Summon Thanatos and let him
do the attacking.  Just make sure you keep your Soul Meter up so
Thanatos doesn't shatter.  (You can also us The Ignorant Masses to
speed up the process.)
Delacroix's attack pattern is basically the same as in Stage 11.  But
he is a bit stronger now.  Again, periodically he will float just out
of Sieg's reach and stop.  When he says, "Come out!" a red circle will
appear on the floor in the center of the arena.  Then, Zombies will
rise from the floor and giant swords will sweep in a circle around the
floor.  Avoid all this by staying out of the red circle and quickly
moving to one of the two small platforms at the north or south end of
the arena.  Or, stay on the perimeter and destroy the zombies for Soul
Energy.  (This is dangerous, though.)
Note:  Watch out for the giant blades.  They might still hit you on the
       small platforms, so be ready to jump.
When Delacroix stops during this, it presents a great opportunity to
have Thanatos pound on him.
Another attack of Delacroix's is when he pauses slightly and then
sends a shockwave out in all directions.  You can tell when he's
about to do this because the screen shakes.  He'll then most likely
follow this up with charging at you and swinging his blade three or
four times.  Avoid this by jumping (or double-jumping) and dodging.
Note:  If Delacroix hits Thanatos with his sword, it knocks a HUGE
       chunk of Soul Energy off your Soul Meter.
When Thanatos is summoned, help him attack more frequently by pressing
the Triangle (T) Button.  Just keep your Soul Meter up.  (Also, make
sure Thanatos is in Force Mode - orange, not blue.)
When you knock Delacroix's Life Meter down pretty far (the green
portion of his Life Meter), he will disappear and send four laser
blasts at the center of the arena from the northeast, northwest,
southeast, and southwest.  Unsummon Thanatos so he doesn't get
flattened.  As for Sieg, move him to a safe area like one of the
side platforms.
When Delacroix is almost destroyed (in the yellow), he will start
summoning VERY STRONG Zombie Soldiers and Zombie Axmen.  You take
care of these while Thanatos finishes off Delacroix.  However,
Delacroix will continue to attack.
The battle will be over soon.  When Delacroix is beaten . . .
~~~ MOVIE 10 ~~~

---------------
Part II: Azrail
---------------

Whoa! There's no mistaking Azrail. (Trust me - you can't miss
him.)

You begin this portion of the battle in the center of the arena.
Pick up the items to the east, west, and south. Okay, Zombie
Soldiers - four at a time - will continuously respawn. You can
avoid them or just take them out with Sieg to build up your Soul
Energy.

Okay, again, make sure Thanatos has a relatively high amount of
Soul Energy, and summon him. Lock-on to Azrail, and send Thanatos
in to attack.

Azrail will send waves of missiles out from his from time to time.
Avoid them by double-jumping (if you can) and dodging. Or, start
at one side of the arena and dash to the other. Also, unsummon
Thanatos so he doesn't get hit by missiles.

Note: Periodically, two of three missiles might shoot at you from
       random directions. (Most likely behind you.) Keep an eye on
       your radar to tell when enemies and missiles are getting too
       close for comfort.

Again, focus on having Thanatos attack Azrail, and keep your Soul
Meter up for Thanatos. (You can use The Ignorant Masses to cleanse
the area too.) Stay locked-on to Azrail as much as possible to
focus Thanatos' attacks.

From time to time, laser blasts will spring from Azrail's eyes - be
careful, as they move FAST.

Also, Azrail might move down close to the arena. You can attack him
with Sieg when he does, if you want. But, you might get hit by
missiles, so watch out.

Note: In case you're wondering, Azrail's weak spot is the orb in his
       chest. Also, if you brought Malice Legion, you can switch to it
       and use the Sniper ability.

When Azrail falls . . .

-----------------------
Part III: Siela (Omega)
-----------------------

Now, a demonic spawn that resembles Siela will come out.

Note: Again, when this portion of the battle begins, immediately
       pause and use Life Recovery Gems to refill Sieg's Life and Soul
       Recovery Gems to give Thanatos strong bones again.

Siela is small and moves quickly, making it hard to lock-on. Her
defense is rather high, and she possesses the ability turn into
vapor. (You will lose your lock-on when she does this.)

Summon Thanatos and send him after Siela as she zooms around the
arena. The Ignorant Masses works well too.

She will rise up in the air and a bunch of enemies will spawn, like
Cannon Zombies, around the perimeter. Also, a Golem might pop up.
Avoid them or fight them. If things get hairy, use The Ignorant
Masses to cleanse the area. (Siela will most likely be too high to
hit when this happens.)

Note: Get rid of all the enemies or just most of them and avoid the
       Golem. As Siela get weaker, the amount of eneies she summons
       will increase.

Also, Siela possesses another rather annoying attack athat is
extremely difficult to avoid. Red marks will flash on the ground
and then laser blasts will rain from above. This is annoying
because there is almost no way to really avoid it. But, stay away
from the red areas on the ground and hope for the best. (It also
doesn't hurt to have a Life Recovery Gem ready.)

Okay, soon Siela will actually land in the arena so you can attack
her with Sieg, but four Danus of varying sorts will appear around
her. Sometimes they are Ogma Danus that breathe fire. And, other
times it might be Danu Cannons or some other creature. So, lock-on
to Siela and send Thanatos in to attack, but be ready because she
will send a barrage of Laser fire all over the arena that can easily
shatter Thanatos. (The Ignorant Masses works well here too.)

Note: Avoid the barrage of Laser fire Siela shoots by dashing around
       the perimeter of the arena.

Siela will follow up her laser barrage with lasers from above and
then charge at you.

When she finally stands still, summon Thanatos to attack her. This
attack pattern will repeat. Study it. Learn it. Know it, and
you'll beat her.

Note: Siela is most vulnerable in her winged form. This may be a
       long battle, but you can do it!

When Siela is finally vanquished . . .

~~~ EPILOGUE MOVIE ~~~
Congratulations!!!  You have brought order to the chaos!  (I'm sorry,
I had to say it.)  Enjoy the credits.
Afterwards, you can save your "Clear Data."  This is useful to unlock
other modes of play, movies, and other goodies.
                           ~ END THE CHAOS ~
|           | you destroy the Cannon, the Thanatos Chip will appear. |
|           | Make sure you have Flawed Legion and Hatred Legion     |
|           | equipped.  And, make sure that Flawed Legion has Double|
|           | Raid ability (double jump) or that it is leveled-up to |
|           | Enchant Level 4 where Sieg can use double-jump by      |
|           | himself.  Now, fight your way to the area just before  |
|           | the boss fight (Scene 6).  The path will turn Southeast|
|           | and then East once more.  Where the trail heads East   |
|           | again, you will find a ledge on your right.  Jump up on|
|           | this ledge to find a Rudo Garia spawning and a Power   |
|           | Gate on behind him.  Pummel the Rudo Garia with Hatred |
|           | and then lock-on to the Power Gate and use Hatred to   |
|           | bust open the gate.  (Only Hatred will by able to      |
|           | destroy this Power Gate.)  Move ahead to find a small  |
|           | open area and a Thanatos Chip (Yay!).                  |
| Chip 7    | STAGE 10: The Forbidden City of Yzarc "Aerial Cloister"|
|           | Just after the middle of the level (Scene 8), you'll   |
|           | have to drop down a few ledges to continue on your way.|
|           | Before passing under the bridge ahead, you'll notice a |
|           | few ledges to the right (north).  Jump up to the top   |
|           | and step into the circular area.  Once in the circular |
|           | area, defeat all the enemies (Rudo Garias) that appear.|
|           | When the last Rudo Garia goes down, a Thanatos Chip    |
|           | will appear!  (Now, that's worth it!)                  |
|           |                                                        |
|-----------|--------------------------------------------------------|
| Chip 8    | STAGE 8 (REVISITED):  Kuzca - The Grand Cave           |
|           |                                                        |
|           | In order to get this Thanatos, you must first complete |
|           | Stage 9: Forest to acquire the Map Selector that allows|
|           | you to replay any stage you have cleared.  Also, you   |
|           | must complete Stage 12:  Rotarl - The Sacred Capital   |
|           | "The Fallen City" to unlock the "Alternate World."     |
|           |                                                        |
|           | Once you have done those two things, replay Stage 8,   |
|           | fighting your way to just before the end.  Clear out   |
|           | both side areas behind the Red and Blue Gates so that  |
|           | the Gold Gate in the middle opens.  But, don't go      |
|           | through it just yet.  Instead, defeat the Balor Danu   |
|           | that appears in that room, so the gate to the south    |
|           | opens.  Now, run all the way back up the narrow        |
|           | corridor to find a gate where some enemies like        |
|           | Zeodagdas appear.  Defeat all the enemies here to open |
|           | the gate.  Behind it are some super cool items and a   |
|           | Thanatos Chip.                                         |
|           |                                                        |
|           | Now, to keep this Thanatos Chip in your inventory, you |
|           | must complete the stage fully.  This means facing and  |
|           | defeating Gil Balor again.  So, go back to the room    |
|           | with three gates and pass through the Gold one in the  |
|           | middle to face him once more.  (If you choose to simply|
|           | return to the Intermission screen without beating Gil  |
| Chip 9    | STAGE 11 (REVISITED): The Forbidden City of Yzarc      |
|           |                       "Core"                           |
|           | In order to get this Thanatos, you must first complete |
|           | Stage 9: Forest to acquire the Map Selector that allows|
|           | you to replay any stage you have cleared.  Also, you   |
|           | must complete Stage 12:  Rotarl - The Sacred Capital   |
|           | "The Fallen City" to unlock the "Alternate World."     |
|           |                                                        |
|           | With that done, replay Stage 11 and fight your way     |
|           | through the whole level, all the way back to           |
|           | Delacroix's lair (where the boss fight rook place).    |
|           | This time, Delacroix will not be there.  He has left a |
|           | horde of enemies to mow you down.  Defeat ALL the      |
|           | enemies in this area (and that's a lot) to get the     |
|           | final Thanatos Chip.                                   |
|           |                                                        |
