   Welcome to my Champions of Norrath FAQ. After playing many Action/Rpgs
and waiting for the BG:DA sequel and being very disapointed and let down..
I came across this!.. "Champions of Norrath", i thought.. Snowblind and the
creators from the previous BG:DA.. Hmm.. Right then and there.. It had a hold
of me..Bought the game,invited some friends over and was amazed..What a game
i thought to myself.. I've GOT to contribute something back to such a sweet
game,And so here i am.. Writing a FAQ to help everyone experience CoN to the
fullest.. Hope you enjoy!.

   Here i will explain the Pro's and Con's of each Class;As well as spells/
skills that are listed on there skill tree. The requirements for the skills/

|3a.     Barbarian     |

   The Barbarian is a 'Combat Specialist', sort to speak.Well to put it
roughly, he's a 'Tank' with skills/spells that revolve around physical
combat. He's usually the one you'll find running directly into combat and
acting as a 'Meat Shield' to the support or less agile characters (If in
group gameplay). The barbarian regenerates mana by killing enemies, But..
has virtually no spells..

   The Cleric's abilities, skills, spells resemble that of a Paladin to me.
With Offensive or Defensive Aura's. Using Blunt weapons (Can only use blunt
weapons). Healing abilities, And sweet spells.. The Cleric is a nice mixture
of a Caster and a Melee warrior.. Very well balanced out between Spells,
Auras, and Melee skills. Personally, One of my favorite characters.

   Ah yes, the one and only Ranger.. Master of the bow, with close combat
capabilities.. Another one of my favorites. Everything from Blunt weapons,
Slashing weapons, and Bow weapons to Enchanted arrows (Ice Arrows, Exploding
Arrows, Etc..), Duel Wield, and Healing!.. The ability to have a sword and
shield out, and a bow on weapon switch.. Did i mention Critical Hit? Heh!
Did i just make you a Ranger user? Hah.. I knew i would :) ..

   We now come to the Wizard. Master at magic, and definatly a favorite in
the art that is 'Crowd Control'. Able to mow down groups upon groups of
enemy hordes with the single chanting of a spell.. Ahh what a wonderful class
indeed.. With the ability to mass cast spells, and imbue weapons.. This class
is a top notch choice for a supporting character. Running in the front-line of
battle is just about suicide with this character, as Intelligence and Range
are your main priorities with this one..

   The Shadow Knight, this one's DEFINITELY my favorite class. Reminds me of
a Necromancer/Knight hybrid. With Raise skeletons, Poison spells, Confusion
spells, the ability to Convert Undead enemys for a fixed time period, and
the 'Oh So Wonderful' Harm Touch.. Can you say Massive Damage? I knew you
could!! With many MANY possibilities, this guy gets my sign of approval :
>=) .Haha.. Also one of the only two characters who can wield a 2-handed
sword.. The other being the Barbarian..(Also i believe a 2-handed sword
happens to be the most powerful weapon in the game.. Check the item section
to correct me of im wrong :P )Anyhow! Enough of me drooling.. LETS GET ON

  Probably one of the main reasons i created this FAQ was this section.. Here
i will explain the dozens of different set-ups for each class.. An example of
this is the 'Blinding Flash Melee Cleric'. Now that we have that out of the
way.. On to the setups!!

Comments : I love this set-up, keep's the essential Binding Light and Hammer
           of Wrath combo, yet it has healing/melee capabilities along with
           the optional Root skill. Wish there were more hotkeys when i come
           across set-ups like this, due to all of the spells/skills i have
           to choose from. As for Undead Shield, and Holy Armor, about 60 to
           70% of the creatures in CoN are undead. Need i say more? =]

Comments : This is my 2nd favorite build (my first being my shadow knight)
           because of just how effective Fire Arrow and Poison Arrow are
           early game. A little note about this build would be to focus on
           Archery first (max that first), while adding 4-5 pts to poison
           and fire arrow. Those 4-5 pts will last you all the way through
           Easy -> Act III of Hard difficulty.

Comments : My favorite build by far. Such raw damage from the spells. Fire
           weapons is a nice touch. Its unfortunate that i couldn't max it,
           but the other skills are more effective with that last point over
           the last portion of fire weapon. Fire seems to do the most damage
           to all of the *mobs in the game. Just devistating damage with all
           these maxed. Concentration is a must. Cone of Fire does great
           damage, and is even greater eye candy.

*Note : Mobs stands for , Monsters or Bosses.

Comments : My best build yet. And it doesn't fall back on the Disease bolt,
           Darkness combo. Very melee based. Summon skeleton makes a GREAT
           'tag-team' partner, heavy damage. Also what's a Shadow Knight
           without Harm Touch?.. 1 shot kill anyone? Shield Bash is just..
           Well just great, it's overall just a killer skill at lvl 10,
           nevermind when it's maxed, just a great stun and damage. Along
           with Engulfing Darkness.

  Probably one of the most fun aspects of CoN is the ability to play with up
to four people on one PS2, using the multi-tap.. (Two people is also great!)
This section will cover combo's of class set-ups.. (Which is being worked on
at the moment).. Also advice on different things to keep in mind when playing
multiplayer games.. Such as Boss Strategys in teams, and support skills that
are noteworthy..


Basic Team Reminders :

   1.) Stay Together! - Obviously the most important one.

   2.) Aura Anyone? - Auras are one, if not the best group skills.

   3.) Blocking is your friend! - Blocking is great!, If you have the
                                  patience you'll be damn near untouchable!

   4.) Dodging.. - Very underated.. Very useful when backing out of a
                   bad spot is your only option, and you don't want to get
                   hit. Also if timed right can be a great 'Counter Attack'
                   type move!

   5.) Sharing is fun! - Even though your group wont have combined gold,
                         that doesn't mean you can't help fund the poor,
                         and help equip the weak.

   6.) Have a plan! - If your going into a boss fight that you know will
                      prove to be a challenge.. Don't go into the fight
                      with the idea you'll win with brute force. 7 out of
                      10 times it wont work. If the boss can kill someone
                      in the group in a few shots, it's wise to lure the
                      boss away from this person. Use some elements if your
                      group is mostly made up of range/magic users!, slow
                      down the boss etc..

   7.) Keep your distance! - Sometimes it pays to keep your distance in close
                             fights, perhaps bring a secondary weapon if your
                             primary weapon is of melee type. Some creatures
                             and bosses can, and will, damage you beyond
                             belief.

   8.) HAVE FUN! - This should be the number one thing to keep in mind at all
                   times. I still laugh my butt off, when im playing my ranger
                   with friends. There near a wall, i shoot the wall with a
                   fire arrow, and set them on fire. =], You've got to have
                   fun. Or the whole concept of games get's thrown out the
                   window.

   9.) Team Gold?! - While there is no gold share option, or trade window;
                     there are ways around not being able to share gold by
                     simply dropping an item your going to sell, to whom ever
                     you were going to lend money to, and have them sell it.
                     Or you could just buy it for them =).
