World Series Baseball 2K2 - Strategy Guide (Page 02)
Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for World Series Baseball 2K2 - Strategy Guide (Page 02).
MR-John Salwitz-#51- Fastball: 94 - The Fastball might help you if you
Slider: 83 know how to use it, but the
Splitter: 57 Splitter is a piece of crap.
SU-Mike Remlinger-#37- Fastball: 95 - Not too bad. Would be better if
Slider: 84 he had a Sinker. You can fool the
Change-up: 85 batter with a combo of pitches.
CL-Steve Karsay-#20- Fastball: 98 - His Fastball/Curveball should be
Curveball: 96 all you need for the last inning
Splitter: 83 of work. Pretty good closer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Baltimore Orioles:
C- Fernando Lunar-#51- _____ - Pretty sucky. .171 average, no
|C N N| defense skills whatsoever, and no power.
|N H N| He can run pretty fast though, so I
|N N N| guess that's why he's on the team.
|_____|
C- Brook Fordyce-#26- _____ - A .300 hitter. He's good at hitting
|C N H| line-drives into the outfield. He's an
|C H H| average catcher, but his hitting got him
|C H N| the starting position. Not as fast as
|_____| Lunar, though.
1B-David Sequi-#23- _____ - Another average hitter. Good at
|C N C| defense, I made a nice diving play with
|N H H| him. Start Gibbons or him, whoever you
|C N H| wish.
|_____|
1B-Jay Gibbons-#25- _____ - Not bad for a backup. He's got some
|C H C| power, but he's terribly slow. Start
|N H H| him if you need power, starts Sequi if
|C N H| you need defense.
|_____|
2B-Jerry Hairston-#15- _____ - Don't really know much about him. He's
|C N C| a pretty good fielder, and he has a .256
|N H N| average. There's no other 2B to compete
|N N N| with, so I can't compare him to other
|_____| players.
3B-Tony Batista-#7- _____ - Only reason he didn't start is because
|N N C| of Ripken. He has power, speed, and
|H H C| agility. Play him at 2B if you wish,
|H H C| because he's better then Hairston.
|_____|
3B-Cal Ripken Jr.-#8- _____ - Ah, the Ironman. He still has it, and
|N N C| the game shows it. He's a good hitter
|H H C| and an excellent fielder in this game.
|N H C| One of the legendary 3B/Shortstops in
|_____| the game.
SS-Mike Bordick-#14- _____ - Very good power hitter. Good on
|C C N| defense, has an excellent arm, but not a
|N H N| fast runner. He's one of the best
|H H C| Shortstops in the MLB.
|_____|
LF-Chris Richard-#38- _____ - Average hitter, but what gave him the
|C H C| starting position was his defense.
|H H C| Has a nice batting average, which means
|N N H| he puts a lot of contact on the ball.
|_____|
LF-Mike Kinkade-#17- _____ - Has the talent. He's a .333 hitter.
|N H N| It's a toss-up between him and Richard.
|C H N| It's pretty much your choice, you have
|N C N| to decide whether you want offense or
|_____| defense.
LF-Eugene Kingsale-#40- _____ - Good at defense, below average on
|N N C| offense. I got a double with him, but
|N H N| he almost got tagged out. He's not
|N C H| really too fast, but he'll do as a
|_____| backup.
CF-Melvin Mora-#6- _____ - Good hitter, has a .275 average. Also a
|C C N| good fielder, and pretty quick. An
|N H C| overall fine player. He has potential.
|H N N|
|_____|
RF-Jeff Conine-#18- _____ - Another good hitter. He's your DH at
|C N C| the AL fields. Has some good power.
|H H N| Brady Anderson is the better of the 2,
|H H C| but Conine is a close second.
|_____|
RF-Brady Anderson-#9- _____ - Good hitter, good on defense. No
|N H C| wonder he earned the starting spot. =)
|H H N| Swing at anything in the strike zone,
|C N H| he's an all-around hitter.
|_____|
SP-Scott Erickson-#19- Fastball: 88 - Pretty good. You could use any
Slider: 88 kind of pitch and expect to get a
Curveball: 85 One of the better hitting pitchers
Sinker: 84 strike too.
SP-Jason Johnson-#16- Fastball: 95 - Good starter. A well-rounded
Slider: 84 pitcher that should meet your
Curveball: 86 needs. He has stamina as well, an
Change-up: 85 and should last 9 innings.
SP-Sidney Ponson-#43- Fastball: 96 - Has a good Fastball and Curveball,
Slider: 62 and that's all your basically
Curveball: 90 going to use. Don't bother
Change-up: 49 throwing the other 2, they suck.
SP-Jose Mercedes-#31- Fastball: 91 - First 3 pitches are great. Don't
Slider: 87 throw the change-up, I could hit a
Curveball: 89 home-run off it. The first 3
Change-up: 32 pitches should get the job done.
SP-Pat Hentgen-#41- Fastball: 93 - Very good. Has 5 pitches, and all
Slider: 90 of them are throw-able. You
Curveball: 91 should able to get at least 10
Change-up: 83 strikeouts on Pro with his
Sinker: 83 arsenal.
LR-Chuck McElroy-#47- Fastball: 87 - Yeah, you're gonna want to avoid
Slider: 29 him. He can barely pull off the
Change-up: 48 Sinker, and his Fastball isn't up
Sinker: 71 to par. Forget about the other 2.
MR-Alan Mills-#75- Fastball: 94 - Another goodie. The Splitter is
Slider: 86 good to have, and you'll find
Splitter: 87 yourself to be using it a lot.
MR-Willis Roberts-#37- Fastball: 92 - Another sucky reliever. The good
Slider: 46 Fastball isn't gonna help itself,
Curveball: 49 and you need a backup pitcher.
Sinker: 50 Stick him in the Farm system.
MR-Ryan Kohlmeier-#59- Fastball: 93 - Not too bad. Another well-formed
Slider: 89 pitcher with 3 good pitches.
Curveball: 88 That's all you'll need.
SU-Buddy Groom-#27- Fastball: 92 - The Slider sucks, and the
Slider: 20 Fastball/Curveball is only going
Curveball: 92 to hold them off for so long.
CL-Mike Trombley-#28 Fastball: 93 - Good closer. Then again, who
Curveball: 91 isn't. Good for about 2 innings,
Splitter: 90 then he's out of fuel.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Boston Red Sox:
C- Jason Varitek-#33- _____ - Good batting average (.248), and good
|C N C| at defense. He's a hit/run batter,
|C H C| meaning he'll pop in a shallow fly
|N H H| that'll land and he'll take off to
|_____| first. Has a rocket for an arm too.
C- Scott Hatteberg-#10- _____ - Pretty good for a backup catcher.
|C N C| Bats .265, and isn't bad at defense.
|C H C| Is not as powerful as Varitek, but
|H H H| gets the job done.
|_____|
1B-John Novak-#22- _____ - Who the hell is this guy? He's
|C C C| not too bad, I hit a couple singles
|N H N| with him. Judging by his speed, I'd
|H H H| say he's a power hitter. So take big
|_____| swings at the low pitches.
**The following was contributed by Jared Blankenship**
I noticed that you were wondering who Jay Novak is. As far as I can tell,
he is supposed to be Brian Daubach. I believe he was a replacement player
during the strike, and as such, he is barred from the player's union (MLBPA).
I think the licensing agreement for the game allows only for the inclusion
of MLBPA members in the game, so for those strange, unknown guys who show
up on rosters, that's what happened.
2B-Jose Offerman-#30- _____ - Good leadoff hitter. Puts the ball
|N H N| in play most of the time. Bats around
|C H C| .250. Not too bad at defense either.
|C C H| An all around good player.
|_____|
3B-John Valentin-#13- _____ - He's supposedly the starter, but start
|C N N| Stynes. He's the better hitter and
|N H N| fielder of the two. Trade Valentin,
|N N C| as he's still good, but not better
|_____| then Stynes.
3B-Chris Stynes-#12- _____ - Start him!! Bench Valentin, Stynes is
|C N N| much better. Has a .334 average, so
|N H N| you know he's good at offense. Can
|N N C| also field better than Valentin.
|_____|
3B-Shea Hillenbrand-#29- _____ - Even though the game doesn't give an
|N H C| average for him, I can tell he's good.
|C H C| He's pretty fast, which means he hits
|H C C| a lot of liners. Good on defense as
|_____| well.
SS-Nomar Garciaparra-#5- _____ - They gave him a really bad strike-zone
|C N N| in this game, but they gave him a .372
|N H N| average! Rely on the average and go
|N N N| for the power hits. That's why he
|_____| bats third in the order.
LF-Troy O'Leary-#25- _____ - One of your 2 possible DH's. Bats a
|C C C| .261, but in reality, he's better then
|N H N| the average. You could hit at least 3
|H H H| for 5 with him.
|_____|
LF-Dante Bichette-#19- _____ - One of the rare high-outside fastball
|C H H| hitters. Take advantage of this and
|C H H| surprise pitchers. Bats around .300
|C C C| as well with 2-dozen homers.
|_____|
CF-Darren Lewis-#20- _____ - Not too bad. Bats around .250.
|H H H| Better at defense than offense.
|C H C| Definitely start Everett. You're not
|H C N| gonna really need Lewis on this team.
|_____|
CF-Carl Everett-#2- _____ - A low-pitch power hitter. Bats .300.
|C C C| Chances are if Manny gets up, this guy
|N H N| will get up too. Hit 34 homers, so
|H H H| he's another one of the RBI leaders.
|_____|
RF-Trot Nixon-#7- _____ - Bats around .276. He's your other DH.
|N N C| Or, you could start him and put Manny
|N H N| at DH. It doesn't really matter,
|C N H| because they're the same at defense,
|_____| it's just that Manny rocks at offense.
RF-Manny Ramirez-#24- _____ - Another player with a weak strike-
|N C C| zone, but a sparkling average. .352
|N H N| to be exact. Your cleanup power
|N H N| hitter You'll get a lot of homers with
|_____| this guy. Definite all-star material.
SP-Hideo Nomo-#11- Fastball: 91 - Very good. His Forkball will
Curveball: 89 fool anyone. All his pitches
Sinker: 84 will get a strike, so use him
Forkball: 98 whenever possible.
SP-Pedro Martinez-#45- Fastball: 99 - The best pitcher in the game.
Curveball: 99 The coverboy for the CD Case.
Slider: 98 You want to at least try him out,
Change-up: 98 even if you hate him.
SP-David Cone-#36- Fastball: 93 - Used to be better. Remember that
Slider: 39 perfect game? Avoid him in this
Curveball: 86 game, the fastball isn't gonna
Sinker: 48 get you anywhere. Throw the
Splitter: 49 Curve a lot if you play with him.
SP-Bret Saberhagen-#17- Fastball: 90 - If he had a third pitch, he would
Slider: 27 be good. He'll do some good
Curveball: 97 relief work. Don't start him,
Change-up: 36 he's not going to get anywhere.
SP-Frank Castillo-#37- Fastball: 90 - Not too good. Only has a
Slider: 48 Fastball/Curveball. You could
Curveball: 90 pull off Change-up and Slider
Change-up: 61 about 10% of the time. He's OK
Slider: 64 if you know where to throw.
LR-Tim Wakefield-#49- Fastball: 66 - This guy rules. You could
Slider: 49 squeeze in about 6 hitless
Curveball: 84 innings with him. The knuckle is
Knuckle: 99 your main pitch, use it a lot.
LR-Paxton Crawford-#63- Fastball: 93 - Not too good. Can't pull off
Slider: 42 anything besides the Fastball.
Change-up: 57 Avoid him, don't even bother
Sinker: 48 putting him out.
MR-Rich Garces-#34- Fastball: 95 - Good for about 2 innings. Use
Curveball: 94 him until the batters realize his
Splitter: 89 pattern.
MR-Rolando Arrojo-#44- Fastball: 96 - Another great pitcher. Can fool
Slider: 85 the batter with any pitch. If
Curveball: 87 you vary the pitches, he can
Change-up: 84 throw around 5 hitless innings.
Splitter: 83
SU-Rod Beck-#47- Fastball: 93 - Not too bad. Use the Fastball/
Slider: 52 Splitter a lot, and throw the
Forkball: 53 Forkball a couple to confuse
Splitter: 94 batters.
CL-Derek Lowe-#32- Fastball: 95 - One of the most underestimated
Curveball: 98 closers. Good for around 3
Change-up: 93 innings. You can really do some
Sinker: 97 damage with this pitching staff.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chicago Cubs:
C- Todd Hundley-#9- _____ - One of the better catchers in the
|C C C| league Has a nice .284 average and
|H H H| plenty of home-runs. Another low-
|C H H| inside pitch hitter. Can pick-off a
|_____| lot of batters.
C- Joe Girardi-#27- _____ - He still has it. Bats about .300.
|C N N| He has 6 homers, but he's still a
|N H N| power hitter. You can get a whole
|N N C| butt load of doubles with him.
|_____|
1B-Julio Zuleta-#15- _____ - Very good backup 1B. This is your
|C H N| DH. Hits .294. Pretty quick around
|N H N| the bases as well. He's one of those
|N C N| underrated players.
|_____|
1B-Matt Stairs-#30- _____ - Average hitter, average fielder. Has
|C C C| a nice arm though, but you're not
|H H H| really going to need it since he's a
|C H H| 1B. All I could say is wait for the
|_____| low-inside pitch.
2B-Eric Young-#7- _____ - Bats around .300. Hits mostly line
|C N N| drives. Fast and very good at
|N H N| defense He's underestimated, because I
|N N C| can do some damage with him.
|_____|
3B-Ron Coomer-#6- _____ - Has a big hot zone, so you could swing
|C H C| at a number of pitches. Boasts a .270
|H H H| average, so you'll get a couple of
|C H C| hits. Another fine option for your
|_____| DH.
3B-Bill Mueler-#33- _____ - Average hitter, he's better at
|C H N| defense. Bats about .240. He's the
|C H C| better 3B, but still only average
|C N H| compared to the rest of the league.
|_____|
SS-Ricky Gutierrez-#12 _____ - Very good on defense. Swift runner,
|N H N| and can make long throws. Has a .276
|C H C| average, and a dozen homers, so go for
|H C C| liners. He has a varied hot-zone, so
|_____| swing at anything that looks good.
SS-Augie Ojeda-#1- _____ - Despite his hot-zone, he's a good
|N H C| outside hitter. Doesn't have a really
|N H N| good average (.221), but a nice
|N C H| fielding shortstop. You can try him
|_____| out, but that's about it.
LF-Rondell White-#22- _____ - Pretty good hitter. Has a .311
|C N C| average. Not really a power hitter,
|H H H| so aim the cursor level with the ball
|C H C| so you get base hits. Has a very good
|_____| arm, so you could make long throws.
CF-Gary Matthews Jr.-#19- _____ - Don't bother with this loser either.
|N N C| His stats show his suckiness. .190
|N H N| batting average, no power, etc.
|N C H| Excellent at defense though. No
|_____| errors, strong arm, VERY fast.
CF-Delino DeShields-#16- _____ - Another option for DH. Has around a
|N N C| .300 average. You could start him if
|N H N| you want, because he hits a lot better
|C N H| then Matthews.
|_____|
RF-Todd Dunwoody-#11- _____ - Avoid him, he sucks. No offense, .208
|N N C| batting average. No defense, had a
|N H N| lot of errors during the season. Weak
|N C H| arm, and no hitting power. Don't even
|_____| bother trying him out.
RF-Sammy Sosa-#21- _____ - Slammin' Sammy! He's one of the best
|C N C| hitters in the sport. Kill the
|N H H| pitches you get and you should hit it
|N H C| most of the time. He bats around
|_____| .320.
SP-Jon Lieber-#32- Fastball: 94 - A VERY good pitcher. The
Slider: 94 dominator of the Cubs bullpen.
Curveball: 98 You know the drill, vary his
Change-up: 90 pitches and get the K's.
SP-Julian Tavarez-#50- Fastball: 95 - Second-rate at best. Only pitch
Slider: 87 when his stamina is full and
Change-up: 62 throw power pitches. The Sinker
Sinker: 68 should be thrown 10% of the time
SP-Jason Bere-#46- Fastball: 94 - Good for relief. His Fastball/
Slider: 36 Curveball should carry him
Curveball: 89 through 3 innings. After that,
Splitter: 34 he's easily hittable.
SP-Kerry Wood-#34- Fastball: 98 - Excellent pitcher. 5 pitches,
Slider: 97 and they can all blow out any
Curveball: 88 batter. Fluctuate all of them.
Change-up: 86 He can go the full 9 innings and
Sinker: 85 get around 13 strike-outs.
SP-Kevin Tapani-#36- Fastball: 90 - Another good starter. Actually,
Curveball: 97 he's very good. Vary all his
Change-up: 88 pitches. The change-up is a good
Splitter: 87 follow-up to the fastball.
LR-Kyle Farnsworth-#44- Fastball: 97 - Your run of the mill reliever.
Curveball: 64 Good for 2 innings, try to get
Sinker: 64 all 3 pitches into each out.
MR-Felix Heredia-#94- Fastball: 96 - Good reliever. His pitches
Slider: 94 should carry you through 3
Curveball: 87 innings. Will get a couple K's.
MR-Courtney Duncan-#55- Fastball: 96 - You could use him in a jam. Use
Curveball: 87 the 1st 2 most of the time, and
Change-up: 41 then fool them with the Change.
MR-Todd Van Poppel-#47- Fastball: 91 - Really good. He doesn't look
Curveball: 90 it, but you'll notice when you
Change-up: 88 throw him on the mound.
SU-Jeff Fassero-#13- Fastball: 93 - Good hitting pitcher. When you
Slider: 85 pitch him, check to see if he
Sinker: 85 bats. If he does, you can
Forkball: 88 probably get a hit.
CL-Tom "Flash" Gordon-#45- Fastball: 96 - This guy blows, they call him
Slider: 51 Flash because of his fastball.
Curveball: 58 Use Fassero as your closer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chicago White Sox:
C- Sandy Alomar Jr.-#15- _____ - Not a power hitter, but definitely
|N H N| up there. Has almost a .300
|C H C| average. What makes him good is his
|H C C| speed and defense. He could pick
|_____| off Ichiro with that arm.
C- Josh Paul-#27- _____ - Judging by his batting average
|N N N| (.282), I'd say he's good. Trade
|N H N| him, because Alomar is still better.
|N C N| Or, if you want, DH him. I haven't
|_____| played with him a lot.
1B-Frank Thomas-#35- _____ - Ah, here we go. The power hitter of
|C N N| the Sox. Had 43 homers and a .330
|N H N| average. Average on defense. Then
|C H C| again, what does a 1B really do
|_____| besides catch the ball?
1B-Paul Konerko-#14- _____ - Another good hitter. Hits .298, so
|C H N| he should be your DH. Trade him if
|N H N| you want, because you'll be starting
|C N C| Thomas. You could pick up a nice
|_____| pitcher for him.
2B-Tony Graffanino-#17- _____ - Another option for DH. Everyone on
|H N N| this team rules at hitting. I
|C H C| didn't try him on defense, but he
|H C N| looks average. He's a power hitter.
|_____|
2B-Ray Durham-#5- _____ - Bats first in the order. Good
|C H C| hitter, and very fast. He's good on
|N H H| defense, although his throwing speed
|C N H| requires a little work.
|_____|
3B-Herbert Perry-#43- _____ - Argh, another .300 batter. DH him
|C N N| if you want. I would recommend
|N H N| trading all these goodies for 1 all-
|N N H| star pitcher or something like that.
|_____| Nice arm too.
SS-Jose Valentin-#22- _____ - Very good low-ball hitter. Had over
|C C C| 2 dozen homeruns, so you can expect
|H H H| a little power from him. Not as
|C H H| fast ashe used to be, but still good
|_____| enough to start.
SS-Royce Clayton-#10- _____ - .242 average, but his real talent
|N H N| rests on his defense and speed. A
|C H C| fine pinch-runner, and can get that
|H C C| double most of the time.
|_____|
LF-Carlos Lee-#45- _____ - Will the wave of good hitters ever
|C N C| cease to end? Lee: .301 average
|H H H| with 24 homers. Another good arm.
|C H C| Why, oh why, didn't the Sox win the
|_____| World Series?
LF-Jose Canseco-#31- _____ - This guy is a real asshole. He gets
|C C C| a hit off me every time. He has a
|H H H| .252 average, but mysteriously hits
|N H C| .700 when he faces me. He's your
|_____| first option for DH, obviously.
LF-Harold Baines-#3- _____ - Trade him, you already have 2 great
|C N C| left-fielders. You can get someone
|H H H| good for his .254 average. Yeah,
|C H H| that's pretty much all I could say.
|_____|
CF-Chris Singleton-#12- _____ - I hate to say it, but this is
|C N C| probably the crappiest player you're
|C H H| gonna find on this team. That is,
|C H H| if you consider .254 BA crappy.
|_____|
RF-Magglio Ordonez-#30- _____ - Another power hitter. 32 homers,
|N N C| a .315 batting average, and
|H H N| unprecedented speed. Also a star
|C H C| right fielder with a rocket for an
|_____| arm. This is your model player.
SP-Jim Parque-#40- Fastball: 94 - Not only is he a good pitcher,
Slider: 80 he has impressive stamina. He
Curveball: 93 could go the full nine innings
Change-up: 91 and then come back the next day.
SP-Cal Eldred-#21- Fastball: 97 - Not too bad. The 3 strong
Slider: 61 pitches should get the job done.
Curveball: 80 Good in the sense that he's
Change-up: 77 consistent and reliable.
SP-Mark Buehrle-#56- Fastball: 95 - The three "average" pitches
Slider: 78 should carry you through the
Curveball: 81 majority the game. He's
Change-up: 42 a pretty good pitcher.
SP-James Baldwin-#37- Fastball: 96 - Overestimated. He actually
Slider: 49 sucks. The Fastball and
Curveball: 97 Curveball aren't as effective
Change-up: 52 with this guy.
SP-David Wells-#33- Fastball: 89 - Very good. Should get at least
Slider: 44 10 strikeouts over 9 innings
Curveball: 99 with that powerful Curveball.
Change-up: 91 Use the Change 40% of the time.
LR-Sean Lowe-#50- Fastball: 92 - Dump him in the farm system.
Slider: 58 This guy is trash. No wonder
Sinker: 60 the Sox need so many runs
LR-Rocky Biddle-#60- Fastball: 95 - The Fastball and Curve should be
Curveball: 87 all you need to get you through
Change-up 29 a few innings. Cool name too.
MR-Bill Simas-#41- Fastball: 97 - The Sinker is a good variation
Slider: 28 to the Fastball. The Slider
Sinker: 87 should be used 10% of the time.
MR-Bob Howry-#46- Fastball: 98 - Pretty good. Effective with all
Curveball: 93 3 pitches. Throws strong for
Change-up: 80 2.5 innings, then he's done.
SU-Kelly Wunsch-#65- Fastball: 94 - Eh, average at best. His
Slider: 57 pitches barely qualify as
Curveball: 88 "regulars". He could go for a
Change-up: 58 long time though, say 5 innings.
CL-Keith Foulke-#29- Fastball: 94 - The Screwball is awesome. And
Change-up: 99 the change-up works great after
Screwball: 93 a 95 mph fastball.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cincinnati Reds:
C- Kelly Stinnett-#31- _____ - Heh, worse then LaRue. .217
|C C C| average, 8 homers, and a girl's
|H H H| arm, hence the name Kelly.
|C H C| Didn't think you could get worse
|_____| then LaRue, huh?
C- Jason LaRue-#23- _____ - The weak point of the Reds
|N N N| lineup. Unfortunately, this is
|N H N| the best catcher on the team.
|C N N| .230 average, 5 homers, and his
|_____| defense is pitiful.
1B-Sean Casey-#21- _____ - .315 hitter, and about 2 dozen
|C H C| homers. Very good first baseman,
|N H H| and almost never injured. This
|C N H| is your reliable, consistent
|_____| player.
2B-Pokey Reese-#3- _____ - Eh, not too bad. Good low-inside
|N H N| hitter. Had a .255 average, so I
|C H C| wouldn't say he's bad. He used
|H C C| to be better though. He's
|_____| another good baserunner.
3B-Bill Selby-#54- _____ - Average backup. Boone is a lot
|N N C| better then him. He has around a
|N H N| .250 average, and a few homers.
|N C H| Haven't tried him out on defense,
|_____| though.
3B-Aaron Boone-#17- _____ - Good 3B. He's better on defense
|C N C| than offense. He's a good .285
|N H H| hitter, but virtually error-free
|C H C| on defense. Your model 3B, who
|_____| can make the long throws to 1st.
SS-Juan Castro-#12- _____ - Piteous .241 average. Kind of
|C N C| fast, and alright at defense.
|N H N| He's a pretty good pinch runner,
|N N N| but don't expect to hit homers
|_____| with him.
SS-Barry Larkin-#11- _____ - Nice average, .313, and enough
|C H N| talent to get a base-hit leading
|N H N| off. He's also pretty fast, so
|N C C| that's a plus for a baserunner.
|_____|
LF-Dmitri Young-#25- _____ - Has a .303 average, so that's a
|C H C| plus. Also a power hitter, so
|H H N| it's good to see him batting
|H N C| cleanup. Good fielder, with a
|_____| strong arm.
CF-Ken Griffey Jr.-#30- _____ - One of the best outfielders in
|C N C| the game. Fast as hell, 40
|H H N| homers, and a rocket for an arm.
|C H H| Dead low pitch hitter. Bean him
|_____| if you're facing him.
CF-Ruben Mateo-#19- _____ - Pretty good backup. .291
|C N N| average. He's pretty fast.
|N H N| This is your main DH option.
|N N C| You aren't gonna find a better
|_____| backup hitter on this team.
CF-Rubin Rivera-#28- _____ - Sucks, stay away from him.
|C C N| You've already got 2 good center
|N H C| fielders, so don't expect much.
|H H C| He bats .208, so release him.
|_____| He's a drain on the team.
RF-Michael Tucker-#34- _____ - I guess he's OK. .270 average.
|N H N| He looks to be a power hitter, so
|C H C| go for some homers. His slow
|C C H| speed and bad defense bench him
|_____| though.
RF-Alex Ochoa-#7- _____ - Sparkling .316 average with a
|C C C| dozen homers. He's a nice
|N H H| hitter, so don't be afraid to
|C H N| swing. Not too slow either, so
|_____| go for the doubles.
SP-Scott Williamson-#48- Fastball: 98 - Basically sucks, pitchers are
Slider: 90 supposed to have 4 pitches. He
Change-up: 41 can't get more than 4 innings.
SP-Chris Reitsma-#41- Fastball: 96 - Isn't too good. Better yet, he
Slider: 42 sucks. Another Cincinnati
Curveball: 38 disappointment. This is why
Change-up: 84 they gave up so many runs.
SP-Pete Harnisch-#38- Fastball: 92 - Pretty good with those 3
Slider: 49 dominating pitches. The Slider
Curveball: 93 can be used sparingly to mess
Change-up: 87 with the batters.
SP-Sean O'Hara-#44- Fastball: 95 - He's great. The Sinker and
Change-up: 80 Forkball work surprisingly well.
Sinker: 96 Your optimal Red's pitcher.
Forkball: 93 Use him the full 9 innings.
SP-Elmer Dessens-#45- Fastball: 96 - He's OK. 3 pitches aren't
Curveball: 97 too good for a starter, but
Change-up: 76 he'll do for a few innings.
LR-Jim Brower-#53- Fastball: 94 - With those crappy pitches, he
Slider: 37 can only last an inning before
Curveball: 43 you can take him out. Better
Change-up: 34 yet, throw him in the minors.
LR-John Riedling-#46- Fastball: 95 - What's worse then a pitcher with
Slider: 37 4 crappy pitches? A pitcher
Curveball: 45 with 3 crappy pitches.
MR-Scott Sullivan-#56- Fastball: 97 - The first 2 pitches do a lot of
Slider: 93 damage. Use the Sinker 20% of
Sinker: 54 the time to fool the hitter.
MR-Dennys Reyes-#49- Fastball: 89 - Good, well-rounded pitcher. Can
Slider: 87 do about 2.5 innings worth of
Curveball: 85 work before hitters predict him.
SU-Mark Wohlers-#51- Fastball: 98 - The Splitter doesn't really do
Slider: 89 anything, so that leaves him
Splitter: 42 with 2 good pitches. 1 inning.
CL-Danny Graves-#32- Fastball: 98 - Here we go. An optimal closer.
Slider: 90 Vary all his pitches. He can go
Change-up: 95 4 hitless innings, and he might
Sinker: 94 need to, considering the others.

Cleveland Indians:
C- Eddie Taubensee-#16- _____ - Surprisingly, this is the worst player
|N N C| on the team. .267 average, with 6
|N H N| homers. He's better at defense then
|C N H| offense. He bats 8th in the order,
|_____| so don't expect to do well with him.
C- Einar Diaz-#2- _____ - Not a bad pinch-runner. Blazing
|C C N| fast, and a pretty nice average
|N H H| (.272). Sub him for the pitchers
|N H C| if you want, because he isn't gonna
|_____| do a lot more.
1B-Jim Thome-#25- _____ - Nearly 40 homers, so don't screw
|C N C| around while pitching to him. When
|N H H| you're batting, swing at anything low
|C H H| and inside. You'll hit a homer 2 out
|_____| of 4 times.
2B-Roberto Alomar-#12- _____ - This is a powerful hitter. Has a
|C H C| .310 average with 19 homers. He
|N H N| can hit a ton to right field though.
|C N H| He also has a nice arm on defense,
|_____| although he doesn't use it much.
