Pokemon: Leaf Green - Strategy Guide (Page 06)

Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Pokemon: Leaf Green - Strategy Guide (Page 06).

Before you go up, make sure you're prepared for a battle. A lady will battle
you holding 2 Level 49 Persians. After the battle, she will take you to her
house, the empty one that you passed by. Talk to her again, and you will
get...absolutely nothing. She will ask for some Pokemon. If you can get them,
you will get a prize. Both the prize and the Pokemon are random. This is
optional, but if you want you can go back through the cave to get a Silk
Scarf.

Head back to the mainland.

Don't bother fighting Pidgeotto, they'll just Whirlwind you away. The GS
Pokemon, as usual, are at extremely low levels.

This time, go east. Cut the bush to find a max potion. Now fight the Rocket
holding a Level 48 Rattata, Grimer, and Muk. Keep going to fight your first
female Rocket holding a Level 48 Ekans and 2 Glooms. After her, keep going and
Surf to find a PP Up. Now head back to land and go up to fight the Rocket
holding a Level 49 Koffing and Weezing. After beating him you are free to go
up to a secret Rocket headquarters. You can only access this if you have gone
to Island 6 though.

If you Surf East from the Rocket Headquarters, you will come across a piece
of land. Go South of that and you will come across another land, get on this
one. You will find the Memorial Pillar which is the grave for the young man
there's Onix. "Talk" to the pillar with a Lemonade in your inventory to get a
TM42.

When you first get to town, head into the Pokemon Center and Mart.

Here's a listing of items available for purchase:

When you enter the Pokemon Center, your Rival will be there. Speak to him,
then heal your Pokemon if need be. When you're done, go east and down the
stairs and battle the trainer on the beach.

Head south through the tall grass (pick up a Sentret while you're here) until
you reach the stairs. Go up them and face the trainer there, then continue
south to Ruin Valley.

Ruin Valley
-----------
When you get to the grassy portion, head south. Push the rocks near the
southern bend to get the Sun Stone, then return north. Take the path west and
cut through the grass. Continue down until you reach two paths leading down.
Take the leftmost one to locate an HP Up. Go down the right path leading
south to find a staircase leading up to fight with the next trainer.

Go north then east to find some stairs up to another couple of trainer
battles.

Continue south down the stairs and move to the door. It has a braille
inscription. It says Cut, so use Cut on the door and it will open. Go inside
to get into Dotted Hole.

Dotted Hole
-----------
Inside this cave, drop through the hole in the floor. There is a tablet with
more cuneiform writing on it. It will give you directions... but what do you
care? We're gonna tell you first:

UP
LEFT
RIGHT
DOWN

When you get to the bottom, you'll find the Sapphire. As you take it, some
scientist shows up and steals it from you, taking it to Five Island. Don't go
there yet. Leave the cave and return the way you came. Go up the stairway you
passed on the way there to fight this trainer:

Once you defeat him, move the boulders to his right to find a Full Restore.
Return to the beach and head north. Surf in the water at the north end and
keep heading up to find this trainer:

Once you get to land, you'll face a pair. After you defeat them, go up into
town to take on another. On the west side of town, you'll run into the Green
Path.

Green Path
----------
Green Path is home to wild Pokemon (including Heracross) and a gaggle of
trainers.

Another island to explore. Heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center and stock
up on the healing items at the Pokemart.

From the town, head south west past the grassy area to a cave. There's a
boulders puzzle here. You need to push the boulders to fill all the gap in the
floor.

Anyway, here's the way to solve the puzzle. Push the middle of the upper
boulder straight up until it fill the gap at the northern most corner of the
room. As for the two upper boulders left, push them to the middle to where the
middle upper boulder originally stood. From here, push them up two squares, and
push it to either left or right to fill the gap. Do the same with the other
boulder.

As for the lower boulders, push the two nearer to the exit to the side against
the wall. Push these two boulders up, filling the gaps nearest to the exit.
The rest of the boulders should be easy, push them up to the original posistion
of middle-upper boulder and push them to the side. If you've done all of this
correctly, an earthquake will happen.

From the cave, head south until you find a place to surf. Surf along the
region, and you'll find various ruins containing Unown. There are 7 ruins in
total, each corresponding with colors. Each ruins have their own names, and
there are 28 unown in total.

Once you're done capturing the Unown, head back to the town. Head North and
surf to the northern island. Here, you'll find the Trainer Tower. Check out the
miscellaneous section for more info on trainer tower.

You'll need a special ticket to get to these island. There's nothing
here but a cave. However, this cave contains two legendary Pokemon. Enter the
cave. Head straight for the ladder and climb it down Now take another ladder
down. Continue heading straight until you come to a junction. Now there are two
choices. The left path takes you to the top of the island. The right path takes
 you to underground.

Ho-oh > Catch Difficulty: Very Hard
------------------------------------
If you choose the left path, you'll eventually meet a level 70 Ho-oh.

Lugia > Catch Difficulty: Very Hard
------------------------------------
If you choose the right path you'll eventually meet a level 70 Lugia.

Ho-oh and Lugia will have Sunny Day and Rain Dance respectively, making this
battle harder. If you still have a master ball, you might want to consider
using it on one of the Pokemon. Once you've beaten/captured Ho-oh, use
itemfinder on the spot where it used to be for a sacred ash.

At the South-eastern corner of the third island map, there is a small
island with Deoxys on it.

There will be a triangle puzzle you need to solve to get into battle against
Deoxys. If you press the triangle, it will move randomly. Now you need to get
to the triangle and press against it in as few steps as possible. If you did
not do this properly, the triangle will move back to its original position. If
you do the puzzle correctly, it will glow hot gradually. Once you've move the
triangle enough, the ground will shake, and the triangle will be shattered into
pieces. Soon you'll see Deoxys descending down the sky.

Deoxys > Catch Difficulty: Very Hard
------------------------------------
Deoxys will be at level 30. It has different sprites in the different versions
of the game if you managed to capture it.

So you beat the Elite 4 and finished the Islands, is there still some parts
that I haven't explored yet? Well, there are a few things that will be
discussed here.

Note: After the Elite 4, one of the legendary dogs will be triggered. If you
chose Squirtle, Raikou will be running around all of Kanto. Entei for
Bulbasaur, and Suicune for Charmander. This is what you use your Master Ball
for, unless you want to run around for a while looking for them.

To get to the Unknown Dungeon, first take the Ferry to Vermilion City, and then
fly to Cerulean City. Go north into Route 24, and surf south from there.
After a short bit of surfing, you'll find the entrance to a cave. This, is
the Unknown Dugeon (Cerulean Cave).

The Cerulean Cave is filled with the strongest wild Pokemon. It's quite an
interesting place to navigate, because it feels like you'll never reach where
you want to go. As you go towards Mewtwo, you'll pick up many items and meet
many powerful Pokemon. After going through a maze like structure several
times, you'll find Mewtwo between two rocks.

Mewtwo > Catch Difficulty: Very Hard
------------------------------------
Mewtwo is a lv. 70 Psychic Pokemon, the strongest Pokemon in the game. This
is the time to use your Master Ball, and hopefully, that wasn't used already.
If your Master Ball was used on some other weaker Pokemon, then you better
prepare for the hardest Pokemon capturing ever. Mewtwo is nearly impossible
to catch. However, it is possible, and you'll need many, many Ultra Balls and
a Pokemon that'll lower Mewtwo's HP to nearly nothing and to put it to sleep.
After catching Mewtwo, you should be proud to be the owner of the most
powerful Pokemon in the world of Pokemon!

Interestingly enough, the Elite 4 have managed to become stronger after their
first trouncing. Your team should be in their high 50's or low 60's (or higher
if you feel like it) before challenging them again. All their teams will be in
the 60's, so odds are they'll outrank you in terms of levels.

Like previously, stock up a lot and get ready for the biggest battles of
Pokemon history. Don't forget that handy save button and Pokemon of at least
Level 60. Oh, and all the trainers have Full Restores. A lot of them. They no
longer have Sitrus Berries though. If you're really struggling agaisnt them,
it's most likely because of the level. Just go take a break training at the
Unknown Dungeon.
