Eliwood   -> Hawkeye       Hawkeye joins.
Eliwood   -> Pent          No effect.

So Eliwood and company go into the Nabata Desert in order to search for this
"Living Legend". A man named Athos speaks to a girl named Louise about their
approach. Athos says "Hawkeye" will find them soon. He also says that Louise's
husband has found what he is looking for, but is under attack by bandits.

Ninian tells Eliwood that she senses someone under attack. Eliwood decides to
go to his aid. Two bandits, named Paul and Jasmine (who is male :p), confront
Pent and demand that he gives them his treasure. But Pent refuses, so the
bandits take up arms.

To go to Chapter 22x, you must have Eliwood talk with Hawkeye and must also get
a total of 700 EXP from this battle. If you don't want to go there simply only
kill the enemies close to you, as Pent can easily handle everyone else.

Send out at least one flyer (a Falcon Knight is recommended), as well as a few
magic users and at least one Thief. Ninian is highly recommended if you want to
make getting to 22x easier. Unfortunately, one downside of abusing the arena is
that it's harder to get to 22x, because you'll get less experience from the
enemies (level 20 characters won't get any at all!). So send out your low level
units that you didn't power up.

Place Ninian and Fiora/Florina (whichever is a FalcoKnight) on the bottommost
two panels in the deployment area. Place Legault/Matthew as close to the
easternmost boss as possible. As for everyone else, it doesn't really matter.

Once the battle begins, Canas will talk to you, telling you about the items
hidden in the desert. Your first objective is to get Pent out of there (only if
you want to get to 22x). Florina, Fiora and Heath are the most capable of doing
this, but due to the abundance of magic users around him I'd go with Fiora or
Florina as a FalcoKnight. Have them move just outside of Ninian's range (they
should be able to move 4 panels away from their starting position) and have
Ninian dance for them. If you did it right Pent can be rescued on turn 1.

Have Eliwood go south as far as he can, along with a low level character or two
(or more). Have everyone else attack the three enemies towards the top. The
Thief should move towards Jasmine in order to steal his Guiding Ring. Don't
worry, he shouldn't hit you, as the desert gives a small bonus to Evasion.

On turn 2, a Berserker named Hawkeye will appear. Have Eliwood talk to him and
he will join your group. He is probably my most favorite axeman in the game,
not counting Hector or those who don't use Axes as their primary weapon. Don't
overuse him in this battle or you won't get the EXP needed for 22x!

After killing the three enemies up top, have a few come down in order to aid
your Thief after he steals the Guiding Ring. Swordsmen work best. In order to
increase your chances of being able to go to Chapter 22x, you'll want to kill
him with a lower level character. This goes for Paul as well. Weaken him up
first and then have someone weak kill him for an almost guaranteed 100 EXP
(1/7th of the overall requirement!)

Once Jasmine is dead, I'd pull back and let the enemies come to you. Weaken
them up with stronger characters and have the weaker ones kill them. There will
also be quite a few enemy reinforcements as well, mostly Wyvern Knights and
Shamans (a couple of Mages as well). Make sure you kill off EVERY REINFORCEMENT
before finishing this map.

Go ahead and kill the remaining enemies, EXCEPT for Paul. Now, there are quite
a few secrets in this level. First, have Hawkeye go to the single house on the
map and he will talk to Fae, from FE6. Now it's treasure hunting time. There
are a total of six treasures in this map, all of which are EXTREMELY valuable.

Have a Thief get these treasures, as they have a 100% chance of getting them if
they land on the square which the treasure is located. Other characters can get
them too, but it's quite unlikely. There is an Ocean Seal in the southeast
corner, about three spaces to the left of the edge. Search around the two sets
of bones for an Eclipse, a Hero Crest, a Light Brand (aka "Light Sword" in the
Japanese FEs, which is famous because Leif uses it in FE5), and a Filla's
Might. Finally, there is a Body Ring seven spaces left of Fae's house.

Once you get all the treasures, it's time to deal with Paul. Unfortunately, he
is pretty tough, what with have a Killer Axe and all. An easy way to take him
out is to have Hawkeye stand on the Fort to the left of Paul and let Paul
attack him. Hawkeye may get a critical hit, and Paul will die. But if Paul gets
a critical hit on a fully healed Hawkeye, then Hawk will live. If Paul is still
alive finish him with a weaker character for more EXP.

Once all the enemies are dead, the battle will be over. You'll talk with
Hawkeye and Pent, and if you got 700 EXP and talked to Hawkeye (if you didn't
talk to him he will join next chapter), then you have a choice of going to
Chapter 22x. If you don't want to go there/didn't get a choice then go to
Chapter 23.

Eliwood's group will sink in quicksand and will end up in a strange place. Pent
and Nils sense a Magic Seal in the area, and Hawkeye suggests trying to kill
him and his followers in order to get out. Hawkeye tells Pent to protect those
not in the battle, and suggests to you that you should choose carefully on whom
to deploy.

Hannah will leave you in this mission and will be replaced by Nils. You can now
see who has support conversations with whom.

Indeed, this will be a tough battle if you haven't abused the arena. Send out
your best units. Your group will be split into two at the beginning of the
battle, with 6 on the right and 5 on the left. Make sure each group has at
least one Pegasus Knight and at least two powerful units (in other words, make
sure the power is evenly distributed). Magic users will be almost useless here.
Send out a Thief with a Lockpick equipped, and make sure you give Hawkeye
another weapon (he must be deployed in this battle). I recommend deploying the
Thief in the eastern group (but it's up to you).

Stay away from the "edges" in the rooms, since some of the enemies in the other
rooms will be able to attack you. And that is really not a good thing,
especially in a level like this where the enemies are very tough.

The western group should go west and kill the Bishop in the top left corner.
You'll have to break down some walls in order to do so. Kill him with a Pegasus
Knight. Once you do, he'll drop a Door Key. Use it to open the door in the
southeast.

The eastern group should break down the walls leading up to that door. The
first room contains a Druid, which won't be able to attack you. The second has
a General, kill him with an axeman like Hector. Both the Druid and the General
drop Door Keys. And the third has a Sage, which again won't be able to attack
you. This is where the two groups should meet.

Now you should go get the chests in the lower left and right corners. You can
either split up the group or send them as a whole, it doesn't really matter,
but splitting them up works faster. The chest in the bottom right corner has a
Berserk staff while the one in the lower left has a Silver Blade.

Keep advancing towards the middle of the map, where the Magic Seal is. Use a
Pegasus Knight to take out the magic users while axemen to take out Generals.
Once you get to the place where the Sniper is, kill him, open the chest for a
Secret Book and have someone with high Defense and Magic Defense (Oswin) stand
in front of the door with a long range weapon equipped. He should easily be
able to take out the four people guarding the Magic Seal.

After this, go ahead and open the door, but ONLY if every other enemy on the
map (aside from Kishuna) has been killed. Kishuna will disappear, and four more
enemies will appear. Don't worry, they're weaker than the other ones. However,
they do have Silver weapons, so stay on your guard. Killing them gives you
their weapons (Silver Sword, Axe, Lance and Bow). The battle will be over.

Hawkeye and Pent will lead you to Athos. You will talk to him about how to
defeat Nergal; first you must find the Shrine of Seals, which is located in the
country of Bern. Hawkeye decides to go with you, as well as Pent and his wife,
Louise. Athos gives you Afa's Drops, and teleports you to Pherae. After Eliwood
talks with his mother and gets a night's rest he sets off for Bern.

Dart      -> Geitz     Geitz joins.

Eliwood and company enter a small town in Bern, disguised as travelers. Hawkeye
says that the only way to learn the location of the Shrine of Seals is by
contacting the royal family of Bern. Pent and Louise agree to do that, and head
off to see Queen Hellene. Before they leave, Hawkeye gives them a Heaven Seal
that Athos gave him. Meanwhile, Lloyd and Linus are in town, and they greet
Nino, the daughter of Sonia.

Eliwood is bored waiting, so Legault suggests finding information on the Black
Fang. You head into town, but Lloyd and Linus spot you. Depending on the
situation, either Linus or Lloyd will go tell their father that you're in Bern.
The other will stay in town, and will attack you.

If the total levels of your three Lords combined is over 50, you will fight
Linus. If the total is under 50, then you will fight Lloyd. So this will be the
strategy for fighting Linus. Make sure you deploy Dart and characters you want
to train in the Arena. If you're planning on abusing the Arena then also send
out a healer and Ninian. Bow units/mages are great here. Also make sure you
send out a few Lance users, and equip someone with the Member's Card!

First off, send someone with high Resistance (not a Pegasus Knight!) to the
east in order to save the Village. The reason you don't want to send a Pegasus
Knight over is because there is a super long range ballista in the upper right
corner that has a range of 15 spaces. So send someone like Canas over to kill
off the Mages and Sage and save the Village for an Earth Seal.

Everyone else should go north. Let Oswin or some other Lance user take the
lead, because most of the enemies have Swords. It is possible to recruit Geitz,
the enemy Warrior on the left side of the map. Dart needs to talk to him. Have
Dart move, Ninian dance and Dart move again to talk to him without taking any
damage. Quickly kill off the two Corsairs so that they don't attack Ninian.

Keep going north. Once you kill the Mercenaries and Cavaliers, have Dart or
Hawkeye cross the ocean to the east and kill off the Archer. Then have a flying
unit pick up one of your Archers and drop them off there (if it has ammo left,
of course). Don't use the arrows just yet, though. You'll need them for when
the mass of Wyvern Riders show up.

There will be lots of reinforcements in this Chapter. Mercenaries will appear
on the north side while a seemingly endless duo of Wyvern Riders appear on the
eastern side. Just use Lances on the Mercs and bows/magic on the Wyvern Riders.
You can also use this time to train in the arena. This is THE last arena in the
game, not counting the one in Chapter 29 (you can only use that one for a
limited amount of time), so make good use of it!

There is a hidden shop in this Chapter as well. Give a flying unit the Member's
Card and have them land in the Forest on the farthest island to the east. You
can buy anti-Knight/General and anti-Cavalier/Paladin stuff here. If you didn't
get the Ocean Seal in Chapter 22 then make sure you get one here if you want to
promote Dart. This is the last place (I think) where you can buy anti-Knight
and anti-Cavalier stuff.

When you are done shopping and fighting in the arena, it's time to deal with
Mad Dog Linus. Head east, with your Lance users in the lead. Take out the
guards (Mercenaries, Archer) around Linus, which are pretty much the same as
all the others in this Chapter. Your final obstacle here is Linus himself.

Linus is one of the tougher bosses so far. He is EXTREMELY powerful, thanks to
his Silver Blade, and is very accurate despite the low Hit % of his weapons.
The best strategy to beat him is to stand outside his range so that he switches
to his much weaker Hand Axe. Then have a sword user such as Lyn or Guy attack
him. Unless you've really been abusing the Arena, it will take multiple attacks
in order to defeat him. If you feel like you can't take him on, then luckily
for you there's always the Arena to fall back on.

"Pray. I'll give you that much time. All the evil that you've done up to now...
Repent it, and sleep."

Sorry, that was too cool not to put here. :p

After you beat him, a ton of stuff happens. Eliwood sees that the Black Fang
isn't as dishonorable as it seems, and plans to go talk to Brenden Reed, the
leader of the Fang. Lloyd vows revenge for his brother, and Nino tries to help
a wounded Jaffar.

You also get to see what's up with the Emperor of Bern, and his wife, Hellene.
The two had a son, Zephiel, but King Desmond doesn't want him to become his
heir. Instead, he would rather have his daughter (whom Sonia bore), Guinivere,
succeed him. But Hellene insists on Zephiel. Desmond tells her that the Fire
Emblem has been stolen, and that the succession of the throne won't be able to
take place. It's pretty obvious that Desmond is jealous of Zephiel's talents...

Louise comes in to talk with Hellene. Hellene tells her and Pent her troubles
with Desmond. Pent and Louise go back to Eliwood when they are finished, and
she promises to listen to their request if they retrieve the Fire Emblem.
Eliwood agrees, and sets off for the royal palace of Bern.

The other will stay in town, and will attack you.

If the total levels of your three Lords combined is over 50, you will fight
Linus. If the total is under 50, then you will fight Lloyd. This section is if
you are fighting Lloyd. So if you're fighting Linus then go to the previous
section.

This is a fog of war map, so both Thieves are recommended. Also bring out
either Lyn, Sain, Kent, Wil or Florina in order to recruit someone that will
appear. This is the last arena in the game that you can effectively use, so
bring out those characters that will end up good but whom you haven't trained.
Beware of using flyers, as there are ballistae set up. And of course, deploy
some Archers to take advantage of those ballistae. Anima magic users as well as
Lance users will be useful here.

As soon as the battle begins, Wallace shows up in the east, looking for Caelin.
You need to get either Lyn, Kent, Sain, Florina or Wil over there to talk to
him, and quickly. As there is a Sniper out for his head. He will just kill
every enemy in his range until he either dies or is converted. Cut down the
snag to the east and have some of your guys go over there (including a Thief).

But beware of that Sniper! He is pretty strong (he has a Silver Bow). Steal his
Orion's Bolt before killing him. After you kill him and convert Wallace, enter
the village towards where he is located. An old man inside the village will
give you an Earth Seal, which has the power to promote many different
characters (not Lords, Thieves, or Pirates, though).

Advance everyone else north, towards the castle-like structure. But leave a
unit or two behind to guard Merlinus. You will face mainly Monks and Myrmidons,
so take them out with Anima magic and Lances. Once you get up towards the
castle, Wyvern Riders will assault your squad from the west while some Monks
attack you from behind and some Archer on the ballista starts shooting at you.

Take out the Wyverns with a few well-placed arrows. Try to take out the Archer
ASAP; he gets quite annoying. Ignore Lloyd for now. Meanwhile, in the northeast
corner, have an axe user take out the two Myrmidons guarding the village. They
have Lancereavers, so that's why you want to use Axes. Visit the village for a
Silence staff. Make sure you get it quickly, as a Brigand will eventually
destroy it if you don't.

Once you're done killing enemies, go ahead and train in the arena until you're
satisfied with your levels and money. Then go buy weapons and items with your
cash. There is a secret shop in the area, as well. Have someone with the
Member's Card go three spaces down, two spaces left from where Lloyd is
standing. Buy anything you need. This is the last place (I think) where you can
buy anti-Knight and anti-Cavalier stuff. If you didn't get the Ocean Seal in
22, then get it here in order to promote Dart.

"In the name of the Fang, I sentence you to death. Do not blame me for your
fate. It is your own doing."

...Well, if I had Linus' line, then I should have Lloyd's too. :p

Lloyd the White Wolf is much easier than Linus, because he doesn't have a long
range weapon. Just take him out with Javelins or Spears or Bows or Ballistae or
something. He has very high Evasion, though, so it'll probably take a while to
kill him. You really don't want to attack him at melee range, because he
Criticals very often and will almost assuredly get two attacks in. If you can't
beat Lloyd, then use the arena some more.

After you beat him, a ton of stuff happens. Eliwood sees that the Black Fang
isn't as dishonorable as it seems, and plans to go talk to Brenden Reed, the
leader of the Fang. Linus vows revenge for his brother, and Nino tries to help
