Fire Emblem - Strategy Guide (Page 06)
Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Fire Emblem - Strategy Guide (Page 06).
This is a rather boring Gaiden chapter. If you're playing in Hector's storyline, go read his section, not this one. Anyway, yeah, this is really easy because of the help you'll get. You may be tempted to send out all your magic users due to the amount of Knights on the battlefield. But I don't recommend this. Instead, deploy an axeman or two (Hector and Dart), along with maybe Canas, both Pegasus Knights, and definitely both Archers. Other than that, it's up to you. Bring weapons effective against Knights, like the Hammer and Heavy Spear. Deploy the Archers and Pegasus Knights in the north. Everyone else should be placed at the bottom. At the beginning of the battle, Fiora will have a talk with you. Follow her advice and don't send her towards the west. Simply have everyone go south, except for the Archers and Merlinus' guard. If you want to kill the Magic Seal that will appear, then send out your most accurate physical attackers. Your four most accurate melee range attackers, and eight long distance attackers. You should only care about killing him if you're in Hector's Chapter and leveled up Nils to level 7 before Lyn's story finished. Killing off the advancing Mages and Knights is easy. I'm sure that my Hector alone could take out all the Knights while my Canas could easily handle all of the Mages. But do what you wish. It's really important to level up Fiora and Florina, and this is a good Chapter to do it. Also you should be thinking about Supports by now. Three enemy Pegasus Knights will come over to attack Merlinus, but they will fall very easily to Wil and Rebecca. Also, be wary of the boss's attack range. He can attack your guys up to 10 panels away, so move your cursor over him and move 10 spaces towards your characters to make sure that he can't hit you. You might be wondering, "how do I get close to him and kill him then?" Fortunately for you, Kishuna the Magic Seal (by "seal" they mean the kind of seal that you would use to close something, not the flubbery sea thingy that people enjoy clubbing) will come out of a Fort and will block all magic 10 spaces away from him. Although Aion's magic, and the magic of the enemy Mages, will be blocked, yours will as well. Staves also cannot be used in these areas. So leave magic users behind while everyone else advances. Visit the village in the lower right corner for a Goddess Icon. If you've already used the one you got from Erk on Oswin, then I would use this one on either Kent, Lucius, Hector, Raven, Dart, or Canas. It's up to you, though. Keep moving towards Aion, and make sure you have someone guarding Merlinus. Because eventually, a pair of Mages will come out of the Forts near him and will try to attack him. Make sure you keep your main force at least three panels inside the red area. If they are too close to the edges then the enemy mages will be able to attack them. The two remaining Pegasus Knights will come down once you reach Aion. But they are very weak. Don't worry about Kishuna's troops, as they won't attack you, even if you get in their movement range. If you feel like it, you can attack them. However, they WILL attack you if you get right next to them or two spaces away from them. Kill off the Snipers first, from close range (you'll get massive EXP), followed by the Knights. Make sure Aion is dead before you try killing Kishuna, the Magic Seal (if you don't want to try, then go ahead and seize the castle). You won't get anything from it unless you're playing in Hector's storyline. Just be aware that he disappears after your turn if you attack him but don't kill him. So once you've killed him or not, seize the castle gates. You will wonder who that Magic Seal guy was, and you'll press onward towards the Dragon's Gate. =============================================================================== Chapter 19: Dragon's Gate =============================================================================== Objective: Seize the throne. Eliwood -> Legault Legault joins. Eliwood and his group finally reach the Dragon's Gate. However, a large squad of enemies are waiting there for him. Ephidel sneaks in and snatches Ninian, and retreats to the castle gate. He tells Marquess Darin to kill them off. A Paladin of the Black Fang, Cameron, taunts Eliwood before the battle begins. This is a big battle, so you're allowed to deploy a lot of characters. You must deploy Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector. I don't recommend deploying any other sword-only users, other than Matthew, in order to get some treasure. Deploy both Rebecca and Wil, at least two magic users, a Cavalier or two (Sain is recommended for this battle), and both healers. I deployed Dart, as well. Florina and Fiora should be benched due to the abundance of Archers. First, have Matthew open the door while someone else kills the Sniper. They will get a Door Key. Leave both Rebecca and Wil in that room; if you want to make this battle easier, have one of them wait on the stairs. Have a magic user (Canas with Nosferatu) wait on the space in the northeast corner of the entrance, in order to lure down the enemies. Lyn and two others should wait outside the door where the Archer with the Longbow is. You'll want to have this group go inside that room, break down the wall to the east and then break down the wall into the eastern hall of the Dragon's Gate. Advance everyone else north, killing the first Knight with another magic user. Hector should go take care of the Knight to the west. On the next turn, a Black Fang guy known as Legault the Hurricane will appear, and will attempt to steal all the treasures in the area before leaving. You must get Lyn or Eliwood up there and talk to him. Have Matthew open the chest in the lower left corner for a Brave Bow; give it to Wil or Rebecca. Look out for Cameron, up towards the top. He will move to attack you if you get in his range! His weapon is a Halberd, an Axe that is effective against mounted units. Have someone like Lyn kill him. He will drop his Halberd, so I recommend putting it to good use against all these mounted enemies. Try to kill the Archer with the Longbow. The easiest way is to simply open the door and kill him, but you can also lure him to the edge of the wall, and then attack him with whoever. He drops a Door Key. Keep battling up north, killing all the enemies. One drops an Armorslayer, and another drops another Door Key. Eventually, Legault will open the door in front of Darin. This is where you should have Eliwood talk to him. Kill the approaching Shamans and have him go up there to convert him to your side. If Eliwood can't reach him, then don't fret. You can still get him. Legault will head back inside the castle and go east to get the two treasure chests at the right. Have Matthew and someone else (someone who can attack from two spaces away and is strong against Knights, like Hector or Canas) enter the room in the northwest in order to get the treasure chests. They should break down the first wall as well. The Knight in that room drops a Chest Key, and the two chests contain a Luna book and a Blue Gem. Reinforcements will be everywhere in this battle. Pegasus Knights in the lower left corner will try to kill Merlinus, but Rebecca and Wil should easily be able to handle them. A couple of Fighters in the lower right corner will break down the walls, allowing the enemies easier access to other areas. But the most important reinforcement is an enemy Thief, who will try to steal the items if Legault already hasn't. He also has a unique item in his inventory. Have two or three characters from Eliwood's group go inside the castle at the northern entrance and have them kill the two Knights in the upper right corner. Then they should block the hallway so that the enemy Thieves can't escape. Lyn's group should have bashed down the wall by now. Have them join with Eliwood's group and kill the enemies down at the bottom. Then break down the other wall, to get inside the eastern hall of the castle. DO NOT KILL EITHER THIEF. Legault will take some stuff if he hasn't joined you, but don't worry. You'll get it back once you convert him. Also make sure that you are blocking the Thieves' point of escape. If Legault leaves, then you won't be able to recruit him, and he'll take his stuff with him. If the generic one leaves then you won't get the Member's Card, and the other stuff if he took any. Have Eliwood/Lyn talk to Legault in order to convert him if you haven't already, and have him steal the other Thief's stuff before you kill him. MAKE SURE YOU STEAL THE GENERIC THIEF'S MEMBER CARD. This is a VERY important item. It allows you to access secret shops located in a few levels. So make sure you take it before you kill him! There are two secret shops in this level. One is in the lower right corner, where the trees are. You can buy Killer items here, as well as Elixirs, Lockpicks and Chest Keys. The other is towards the upper left corner, the farthest right space in the little "outside hall" in between the two cracked walls. The Blade weapons can be bought there, as well as a couple of Staves. Make sure you kill the enemies in the upper left corner of the map before you buy stuff at the Secret Shop, though. The Knight drops a Short Spear. Be careful, though, as this triggers an alarm and a total of 6 Mages and 6 Knights will appear during the next 6 turns (2 enemies each turn). Canas killed off the Mages easily, and I had him kill the Knight with the Poison Lance while my Sain used his Heavy Spear on the other one. Repeat this until the reinforcements are dead. Darin should be the last person left. He is pretty easy, unless you just go up and attack him head-on. Simply stand two spaces away from him so that he equips his Hand Axe instead of his Silver Spear. THEN go up and attack him. My Lyn killed him in one hit. Once he is dead, shop till you drop and then seize the throne. There is a lot of story that will unfold once you beat the chapter. Let's just say Eliwood finally finds his father, Jaffar is sent to Bern, Nergal gets wounded, Ninian gets saved, Nils meets up with you, Fiora is hot, Ephidel doesn't have a flame-retardant robe on and dragons like their humans extra crispy. Oh yeah, and stay at least 100 feet away from a dragon if its transferring into the real world is disrupted. And now you head back to Badon, with Ninian and Nils in tow. If you are confused about what's going on, Nils will explain in the next chapter. =============================================================================== Chapter 20: New Resolve =============================================================================== Objective: Defeat enemy Warrior, Oleg. Recommended Deployment: Eliwood*, Fiora, Florina, Priscilla, Legault, Rebecca, Wil, Erk, your favorite characters/those who you want to promote Difficulty: *** Note: Due to this being a fog-of-war map, it's extremely hard to tell how many enemies of each type there are and whether they're reinforcements or not. So I'll just list the types of enemies that appear. Boss(es): Oleg Enemies: ?? Archers Brigands Cavaliers Monks Wyvern Riders Reinforcements? The Davros heads back to Badon, where Nils talks to Eliwood about his father. He also explains why Ninian and Nils were captured, what Nergal wanted with Elbert, why they wanted Darin to rebel and stuff about things like dragons and quintessence and something about somebody not being human (you know, the typical RPG revelations thing). Anyway, some enemies attack. Eliwood wants to help, despite what just happened, and Lyn tells Nils to go hide. He will give her some of his power so that she can help you as well; she'll join you as soon as the battle starts. This is another fog of war battle, so bring a Thief (I prefer Legault to Matthew), as well as Torches and the Torch staff. Monks will be everywhere in this battle, so I'd deploy Erk and both of your Pegasus Sisters. At least one Archer and one healer are recommended as well. Other than that, bring your favorite underleveled characters because there is an Arena in this Chapter. Move your Thief in different locations so that you can see which enemies are where. Place a Pegasus Knight towards the top left and bottom left, because there are two Monks in those locations. Erk should spearhead your army in this battle, as Anima > Light. Once the battle starts, Ninian will give you a tutorial about her dances. They affect a character in the same way Nils' songs did, except some of Ninian's dances increase a character's stats. Her Nini's Grace increases Defense and Resistance. There is a "bug" with the stat-affecting dances. If you pick up a character with the effects before the turn is over, then the effects will stay for next turn. Keep doing this to preserve the life of Ninian's ring, as it only has 15 uses. First off, have Fiora and Florina go north/southwest and take care of the two Monks (kill one, and have Legault/Matthew move up/down so that the other Peg Knight can kill the other Monk). Eliwood and Erk should kill the two Monks to the right. Rebecca/Wil should go down to get the Ballista, but keep in mind that there is an enemy down there! Everyone else should go east (let Eliwood and Erk take the lead), while someone Rescues Eliwood to keep the defense thing in effect. Also have someone go to the two western villages for a Light Rune and a Restore staff (cures ailments such as poison). On turn 2, have Fiora and Farina head as far east as they can, taking out the two Monks. Kill off any advancing enemies (I faced two Cavaliers, two Wyvern Riders, and then a Brigand and a Monk). Make sure you take advantage of the ballista in the south to attack those Wyvern Riders! Magic also works wonders against them. Keep moving Fiora and Florina east in order to get the southeast and northeast villages before the enemies do. They will get an Elysian Whip (promotes Peg Knights and Wyvern Riders) and a Wyrmslayer (effective against Wyverns). Keep battling the enemies to the east, but don't pass the arena! Here is a very good place to level up if you feel you're underleveled, or if you want to promote someone, or if you're running low on funds. Of course, battling in the arena is very risky, but there is a way to make it much easier, courtesy of the "Dance" bug. Simply have Ninian use "Nini's Grace" on someone and have them fight in the arena. Most enemies won't stand a chance against someone with Nini's Grace's effect on them. After the battle, have someone Rescue the character (very important!). On the next turn, drop the character. They will still have the Nini's Grace effect on them! Do a regular dance with Ninian and have them fight again! Repeat until you want to quit. I got everyone to level 20 in this way. Of course, you'll be assaulted by a random assortment of enemies, including Nomads, Cavaliers, and Wyvern Riders. Simply have your Thief stand to the right of the arena to see who is coming. Battle them back with whoever, but don't go too far to the east or else you'll lure the boss up! The pair of Knights marks the end of enemy reinforcements, so level up all you want! Make sure you buy some stuff before tackling Oleg, the boss. You can also use the Elysian's Whip to promote one of your Pegasus Knights. I highly recommend promoting Fiora first, because she usually ends up better. But it's up to you. When you're ready, the boss is waiting for you in the southeast corner of the map. There is also a Brigand with him and an Archer in the northeast corner. Make sure you steal the boss's Hero Crest before you kill him! You can promote Myrmidons, Mercenaries, and Fighters with this. If you've already promoted Guy then I recommend promoting Raven, unless you're in Hector's story in which case promote Bartre. He is a pretty tough boss, but there is a way to beat him. Have someone (Legault/Matthew) move into the forest at the top of the area in the right hand side of the screen, the one that's in his range. He will switch to his Steel Bow and attack. Now steal his Hero Crest and kill him with weapons like the Killing Edge. Once the battle is over, Eliwood decides to go visit Hector's brother Uther in Ostia. Marcus then tells you he sent a message to Eleanora, Eliwood's mom, after what happened to Elbert. Right after he says this, Isadora, a Paladin from Pherae, swings by and joins you. Meanwhile, Nergal, who is still hurting, tells Sonia to go find the Four Fangs and Limstella to kill those with great power in order to gain "quintessence" for him to heal quicker. Hmm... =============================================================================== Chapter 21: Kinship's Bond =============================================================================== Objective: Protect Nils for 11 turns or defeat leader. Eliwood -> Heath Heath joins. Lyn -> Heath Heath joins. Hector -> Heath Heath joins. Eliwood begins his journey to Ostia. He goes through Laus, Ryerde, and Worde. Then he arrives at a fortress separating Thria and Ostia. Lord Uther will travel from Ostia to meet them there. Meanwhile, Sonia tells the Four Fangs (Jaffar, Ursula, Lloyd and Linus) to go kill Eliwood. Also, a mercenary force from Laus led by Eubans apparently received orders from Darin to go here and kill Eliwood's group. Eubans says they have no choice because they are being hunted for rebelling against Ostia. They must kill these people and join forces with the Black Fang. However, a soldier named Heath is opposed to this because there are women and children inside the fortress. Eubans tells him to fight or die. A soldier informs you of the enemies attack and Eliwood begins the battle preparations. Bench the Pegasus Knights (or the Pegasus Knight and the FalcoKnight ;) this battle, because there are ballistae everywhere. Deploy at least one Archer so that they can use them. Also deploy Legault (I prefer him to Matthew, but it's up to you), and a couple of sword users. I'd deploy at least one or maybe two magic users, as well as a healer, and a spearman and an axeman. Hector and Lyn must be deployed in this battle. Other that that, I guess send in your favorite characters. Oh yeah, BRING THE MEMBER'S CARD. The goal for this battle is to defend Nils for 11 rounds. Fairly simple, because he is up there in that room while the enemies are very distant to him. Six Ostian Knights will be deployed in this battle to help you out, so use them to your advantage. Isadora will join automatically at the beginning of this battle, and will have a talk with you. Unfortunately, my opinion is that she is the second worst character in the game, next to Marcus. But at least Marcus started out pretty decent; Isadora is pretty bad from the start. You might be tempted to send her straight down and chuck her weapon at the Shaman, but most likely she'll be slaughtered. I had her take the Member's Card and go up to the Secret Shop (northwest corner of the map, where the little "map" is) and buy stuff. It is very important to have Lyn go to the northeast corner while Eliwood goes west towards the door (where the enemy Thief is). Your Thief should go with Eliwood. Have everyone else simply go down to confront the enemy forces. On turn 2, a unit led by Rath will come to your aid. Have Lyn talk to him for him to rejoin you. Also let the enemy Thief open the door so that the enemy Wyvern Knight, Heath, can come inside. Have him talk with Eliwood in order to convert him. This level is really easy, especially if you trained in the Arena during the last battle. Advance south and take over the two ballistae with Rebecca an/or Wil. You can easily kill the boss with these ballistae, but I focused on the charging enemies. A Cavalier drops a Knight Crest, which I recommend using on Kent or Sain if you've already promoted Oswin. Make sure you kill the Thief trying to get the two chests! One chest contains 10000 Gold and the other has a Brave Axe. If he gets the Brave Axe, you can kill him in order to get it back, but not the Gold! He will get the Axe first. If you kill him before he gets there then make sure YOU get the treasures! After converting Heath and Rath, split your army into three groups and send them down towards Eubans, towards the right and towards the left. Make sure you don't forget about Nils! Leave someone like Oswin there to guard him. You'll be facing lots of reinforcements at this point so don't think you're done so easily. Use Rebecca/Wil to slaughter the oncoming enemies. You can also take down the boss with them. Keep Heath up top near Nils so that the enemies can't hit him. Keep heading towards Eubans. When you're done shopping in the Secret Shop and have the treasures, go ahead and kill him (Hector works best). You'll get his Spear and the battle will be over. Uther arrives and says that Nergal has gone towards Bern. He gives you permission to go there. However he first recommends stopping by the Nabata Desert, in order to meet a "Living Legend". =============================================================================== Chapter 22: Living Legend =============================================================================== Objective: Defeat all enemy units & protect Pent.
