TimeSplitters 2 - Strategy Guide (Page 07)

Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for TimeSplitters 2 - Strategy Guide (Page 07).

Aztec the Dino Hunter
---------------------

Briefing: Aztec Warrior just loves to hunt dinosaurs! The Aztec Priest has
tried to convince him otherwise by explaining all of the ethical and
ecological reasons which make it a morally questionable activity. Aztec
Warrior
ignores him, he says that the Priest's just a cerebral bore...
Difficulty: ***
Map: Aztec Ruins Exterior
Mode: Team Deathmatch
Weapons: Crossbow
Bots: (BLUE) 6x Dinosaur
Requirements:
-Bronze: 45 kills
-Silver: 60 kills
-Gold: 70 kills
-Platinum: 90 kills
Character: Aztec Warrior
Walkthrough: If you stay in the right place you can easily rack up the kills
needed, but you must know the layout well. Go to the area where the bridge is
found, as this is a T-junction. After making sure no one is behind you, stand
halfway down the bridge facing the two tunnels from either side. When dinos
arrive from both directions mow them down with a stream of crossbow bolts.
Unlockables: Dinosaur unlocked

Half Death
----------

Briefing: The Scientist have been experimenting with reactor cores and
anomalous materials with the usual results - a trans-dimensional rift with
aliens running amok. The marines have been sent in to shoot anything that
moves. That includes you, Dr. Peabody!
Difficulty: ***
Map: Hangar
Mode: Team Deathmatch
Weapons: Tactical 12-Gauge, Rocket Launcher, Plasma Autorifle, Soviet S47.
Bots: (RED) Dr. Peabody (BLUE) 2x Sgt. Shock 2x Capt. Night (YELLOW) 3x Drone
Splitter.
Requirements:
-Bronze: 20 kills
-Silver: 20 kills in 3 min 0.0 sec
-Gold: 20 kills in 2 min 30.0 sec
-Platinum: 20 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec
Character: Dr. Peabody
Walkthrough: This is fairly easy after all you've been through. You should go
into the main hangar and get the rocket launcher from the far end. Aim towards
the gaggles of enemies and let loose. The large Drone Splitters make
especially good targets.
Unlockables: Drone Splitter

Dead Fraction
-------------

Briefing: The miners of the Ulcer Corp. are dying of a strange Pox and the
company executives are running a cynical sweepstakes on the mortality figures
- "Guess the Dread Fraction". The miners with the Pox are revolting, none more
so than Jebediah Crump!
Difficulty: ***
Map: Chasm
Mode: Team Deathmatch
Weapons: Silenced Pistol (start), Flamethrower, SBP90 Machinegun, 2x SBP90
Machinegun, Rocket Launcher.
Bots: (RED) Jebediah Crump (BLUE) 4x Male Trooper
Requirements:
-Bronze: 20 kills
-Silver: 20 kills in 4 min 30.0 sec
-Gold: 20 kills in 3 min 0.0 sec
-Platinum: 20 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec
Character: Jebediah Crump
Walkthrough: This is similar to the previous mission except that flamethrowers
have been added to the equation. You should aim to get dual SBP90s as soon as
possible, because you can then stand at a bridge and kill all troopers as they
arrive from either side. Beware of fire - your stamina isn't very high. Simply
pass the flames on if possible to get more kills. The time limit is fairly
lenient, but remember that it is a large level.
Unlockables: Small Heads, Jebediah Crump.

                              6a. Glass Smash
\___________________________________________________________________________/

These missions revolve around the destruction of window panes, and you have to
find the best order to do this in. You need to be both quick and accurate.

Pane in the Neck
----------------

Briefing: Those Russian soldiers aren't that bright! Today's military training
involves breaking all the glass in the Siberian compound. Nikolai managed this
in one minute flat. Beat his time or you'll be the laughing stock of the
barracks for weeks!
Difficulty: *
Requirements:
-Bronze: 1 min 0.0 sec
-Silver: 0 min 30.0 sec
-Gold: 0 min 18.0 sec
-Platinum: 0 min 11.0 sec
Character: Lt. Frost
Walkthrough: This is my strategy, which got me 13.2 sec: Run forward and up the
steps on the left and run past the two-storey building, lobbing a grenade
inside the front windows. Run up towards the steps leading to 2F and chuck
another grenade in through the window on the left. Keep moving up to the
platform where a sniper stands in the missions and chuck a grenade through the
window in the door. Drop down and on the building linked via a plank to the
large one throw a grenade (through the windows facing the tunnel you start in
in level 1). Run diagonally across the courtyard and when you come to the
fence on the other side turn around and shoot a grenade through the windows of
the buildings on your left and right.
Unlockables: Rotating Heads (cheat).

Bricking It
-----------

Briefing: After Private Poorly's incident with a grenade yesterday, all
ammunition has been confiscated until further notice. This is no excuse to
miss training though, so you'll have to improvise!
Difficulty: **
Requirements:
-Bronze: 1 min 0.0 sec
-Silver: 0 min 30.0 sec
-Gold: 0 min 18.0 sec
-Platinum: 0 min 11.0 sec
Character: Lt. Frost
Walkthrough: This is much harder than the previous mission, as each pane takes
one brick. Remember that bricks don't go very far, so you'll need to be near a
window for it to shatter. From the start run up to the 2F building and quickly
throw a brick through each of the three windows. Run up the steps and throw
another through the door window, then open the door, run to the windows at the
other end of the room and smash each of them, fast. Leave and jump down to the
building linked to that one by planks and quickly smash each window, not
forgetting the door pane. Run across the courtyard and look left to smash a
door pane there. Turn the corner of this building and smash each of the three
larger panes then repeat on the last four. Aim at the door pane from your side
of the building.
Unlockables: Brick.

Stain Removal
-------------

Briefing: The life of a zombie would be far more pleasant if it were not for
the Hunchback spoiling the Wednesday morning sacrifices. Get your own back on
him, and knock out as many stained glass windows as you can within the time
limit.
Difficulty: ****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 23 stained glass windows
-Silver: 28 stained glass windows
-Gold: 32 stained glass windows
-Platinum: 32 stained glass windows and 0 min 47.0 sec
Character: Undead Priest
Walkthrough: You should always use the secondary fire of the grenade launcher
when doing this challenge. Aim up from where you start and, while moving
around the balcony to aim, shoot all of the stained glass windows above your
head. It's kinda hard to do a walkthrough for this; you just have to aim well.
Shoot all of them then turn to the others further down the cathedral. It's
hard, and you just need to keep practising until you do it.
Unlockables: Hunchback.

/ \
                          6b. Behead the Undead
\___________________________________________________________________________/

Your aim for these missions is to blow off decomposed zombie heads. Good, clean
fun for all the family.

Fight Off the Living Dead
-------------------------

Briefing: Another of Khallos' attempts to take over the world has failed at the
hands of Harry Tipper. As usual Khallos has fled the scene, leaving a henchman
to deal with the consequences (lots of zombies in this case). See how long you
can keep him alive for...
Difficulty: *
Requirements:
-Bronze: 10,500 points
-Silver: 15,000 points
-Gold: 20,000 points
-Platinum: 150,000 points
Character: Henchman
Walkthrough: I find this pretty easy, as I got a platinum second time. It takes
_ages_, but as long as your strafing skills are good enough and you keep
moving at all times you should be able to do this. The first few waves are
best punched, as they give you more points (100 compared to 75), but if you
aim better then use your gun. After wave fifty or so the zombies seem to get
more aggressive and come in huge numbers. If you get trapped there's no way
out, so keep running around, picking one or two off then moving again. Rinse,
lather and repeat until you get there (you have to die, which is anyway
inevitable). If you lose any health before wave twenty, restart, and if by
wave 100 you haven't got at least 100,000 points and half health you probably
won't get a platinum anyway. But gold is easy, so don't worry. ^_^
Unlockables: Sewer Zombie.

Sergio's Last Stand
-------------------

Briefing: The last act performed tonight, this will star our very own Sergio
the Strongman. We feel privileged to welcome our guests, a time travelling
group of flaming zombies. Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for
Sergio's Last Stand!
Difficulty: ****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 5,000 points
-Silver: 15,000 points
-Gold: 25,000 points
-Platinum: 35,000 points
Character: Sergio
Walkthrough: This is much harder than the previous challenge. Again, the key is
continual movement, only now you must keep a good distance between the zombies
and yourself. Don't be afraid to run into the forbidden zone; three seconds is
ample time to get back in. However, don't dilly-dally or you'll die instantly.
The key is to make use of the shotgun's "shoot while reloading" function, so
you don't get caught unarmed. There are fire extinguishers which you may wish
to try to utilise, but I don't recommend them.
Unlockables: Sergio.

Day of the Damned
-----------------

Briefing: It looks rather like curiosity got the better of Nikolai. Gunshots or
no gunshots, he'd have been better off steering clear of the research centre
altogether, and he should definitely have taken his gun. Keep him alive for as
long as you can, using just his fists!
Difficulty: **
Requirements:
-Bronze: 10,000 points
-Silver: 15,000 points
-Gold: 20,000 points
-Platinum: 25,000 points
Character: Nikolai
Walkthrough: This is easier than you might think, at least as far as getting a
gold is concerned. Restart if you lose any lives before wave thirty or so;
frustrating as it may be, it guarantees that you will get to a high enough
stage to get enough points for a gold. For the first few waves just approach
the zombies, punch off their heads then retreat immediately. They will injure
themselves on glass, but so can you, so be careful. They may also kill each
other accidentally, but you don't get points for that. A good strategy to use
in the latter waves, when you have hundreds of them after you, is to leave the
central area and run in the forbidden zone with a zombie army after you. Go
back into the middle and as they follow you through the doorway kill them one-
by-one.
Unlockables: Feeder Zombie.

/ \
                             6c. Infiltration
\___________________________________________________________________________/

You must remain undetected in these missions to retain your stealth points. The
more points you have at the end, and the faster you were, the higher your
medal.

Silent but Deadly
-----------------

Briefing: Even highly dangerous mercenaries like Gregor Lenko need to use
stealth when outnumbered. Destroy the radar and enter the dam, without being
detected by any of the Russian guards.
Difficulty: **
Requirements:
-Bronze: 0 points
-Silver: 700 points
-Gold: 1,000 points
-Platinum: 1,000 points and 0 min 40.0 sec
Character: Gregor Lenko
Walkthrough: You'll need to brush up on your accuracy skills for this; it is
essential that you kill guards with a single shot to the head. Run out of the
tunnel and shoot the guard and camera up on the building, as in the game. Look
left from the tunnel entrance and kill the guard you see there. Move forward a
little more and aim down between the houses to take care of the female guard
there. Run down the right hand side of the enclosure and look left through a
door window pane and pop another guard in that room. Use your uplink to dodge
the camera in the courtyard and duck into the ground floor of the big
building. Snipe the last guard through the window then run upstairs and open
the dam, ending the level by entering it.
Unlockables: Viking Hat.

Trouble at the Docks
--------------------

Briefing: It's 3 a.m. and a new shipment has just arrived by barge, so there
are goons crawling over the docks! If you want to get through the Falucci
Bros.
Warehouse alive, particular care will be needed.
Difficulty: ***
Requirements:
-Bronze: 0 points
-Silver: 700 points
-Gold: 1,000 points
-Platinum: 1,000 points and 0 min 25.0 sec
Character: Lady Jane
Walkthrough: Jump down from the balcony then use your uplink to dispose of the
guard wandering the crates with a fist in the back. Make sure the guard off
the boat doesn't see you then when he stands still snipe him in the head. Use
your uplink to enter the building undetected then snipe a patrolling guard
_before_ he sees you. At the top look through the window at a standing guard
and kill him. Run down the last flight of steps and exit the building,
punching the last guard in the back.
Unlockables: Pirate Hat.

Escape from NeoTokyo
--------------------

Briefing: It's late past curfew, and Chastity Detroit has ended up stuck in a
rough district of NeoTokyo. If the police find her, she'll spend the night in
a cell, so get her out without being spotted! The temporal uplink should come
in handy here.
Difficulty: *
Requirements:
-Bronze: 0 points
-Silver: 700 points
-Gold: 1,000 points
-Platinum: 1,000 points and 0 min 20.0 sec
Character: Chastity
Walkthrough: Put your uplink to good use here and dodge the cameras. There is
very little that can be said about this mission other than to keep moving an
use pillars well. At one point the police come in a surveillance car, so dodge
behind a pillar facing the direction the car is coming from to avoid its
seemingly all-encompassing view. Run to the bridge from there to finish.
Unlockables: Big Ears Hat.

                             6d. Banana Chomp
\___________________________________________________________________________/

Antics involving bananas, these missions are surprisingly difficult. You must
collect all the fruit in a time limit.

Gone Bananas
------------

Briefing: Jojo the Monkey has been causing mischief around the village, and the
villagers have had enough. To teach him a lesson they've thrown his bananas
away. Help him get them back!
Difficulty: ***
Requirements:
-Bronze: 1 min 30.0 sec
-Silver: 1 min 0.0 sec
-Gold: 0 min 55.0 sec
-Platinum: 0 min 45.0 sec
Character: Monkey
Walkthrough: The route to take is described as follows; skip one banana or
falter at any point and you'll need to restart. Run straight to the column
room and weave between the pillars to get all the bananas there. In the
clearing get the ones under and on the ramp then run up the stairs opposite
for two more. Get down and through the exit on the left. Follow the path,
getting all the dots on your uplink. When you reach the area with a beehive in
front of you in the main story go either right or left; I recommend the right
path, from which you can get the last bananas in the clearing where the
monkeys hang out in the adventure. Devising your own route is a good idea, as
it can sometimes be easier than following instructions which you don't fully
understand.
Unlockables: Private Coal.

Monkey Business
---------------

Briefing: Jojo's been up to his old tricks again, and the villagers are really
riled now. Not only have they taken the bananas, but they've conjured up some
zombies to stop Jojo forever. Keep that monkey alive!
Difficulty: ****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 1 min 30.0 sec
-Silver: 1 min 5.0 sec
-Gold: 0 min 58.0 sec
-Platinum: 0 min 48.0 sec
Character: Monkey
Walkthrough: To avoid the undead, keep at arm's length from them. They can only
hit out at you, and your superior speed means that you should be able to
outrun them. If you get trapped, start again. Follow the route described
above, but be prepared to alter it slightly if zombies are blocking your way.
Unlockables: Private Poorly.

Playing With Fire
------------------

Briefing: Jojo shot The Wood Golem with a flaming crossbow bolt. The Golem's
not got long left, but he's intent on getting his own back by eating as many
of Jojo's bananas as possible. Go for the burn, Woody!
Difficulty: *****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 18 bananas
-Silver: 22 bananas
-Gold: 24 bananas
-Platinum: 24 bananas and 0 min 1.0 sec
Character: Wood Golem
Walkthrough: You will need to convert the route described in "Gone Bananas" to
where the Wood Golem starts. Your time limit is about 25 seconds, and you
should end up at the dead end when it elapses. I've heard on the message
boards about a glitch making Gold and Platinum not work, but I don't fully
understand them and haven't the time to check them.
Unlockables: Wood Golem.

                           6e. Cutout Shoot-Out
\___________________________________________________________________________/

These very funny story mode-like challenges require you to aim for different
parts of cardboard cutouts for points.

Take 'em Down
-------------

Briefing: Uh oh! The small town of Little Prospect is under siege by some
vicious cardboard figures, and it looks like they have no intention of
leaving. Take 'em down!
Difficulty: **
Requirements:
-Bronze: 1,500 points
-Silver: 2,500 points
-Gold: 3,500 points
-Platinum: 4,000 points
Character: Elijah Jones
Walkthrough: The maximum you can achieve here is 4,300, but it's unlikely that
you get it. Run through the town, and always aim dead-centre so as to hit the
bodies of the cutouts and get maximum points (100). Grannies and children with
balloons must be avoided, and hitting one loses you points. Restart if this
happens. The bandits appear from behind walls, in windows and on the street.
Every person has his own strategy for these, so if you are having real trouble
email me and tell me which part you can't do; I'll help, if I can.
Unlockables: Ample Sally.

Fall Out
--------

Briefing: After turning snitch on Big Tony, it seems poor Marco didn't have his
escape route planned. Tony's not the brightest guy though, and he's sent some
cardboard cutouts after Marco. Help Marco through Chicago without killing any
old ladies...
Difficulty: **
Requirements:
-Bronze: 1,200 points
-Silver: 1,500 points
-Gold: 1,650 points
-Platinum: 1,700 points
Character: Marco the Snitch
Walkthrough: This time 1,700 is the maximum - that means you have to get 100%
points for a platinum! I'm glad that this guide only does golds! Every time a
gangster has the opportunity to shoot you lose one point. As a result, your
reflexes must be ultra-sharp. Aim for the bodies of the opponents and you'll
get 100 points. Gangsters appear from behind walls and cars, above crates and
in doorways. Your route is linear, and only you yourself can work out the one
which works best.
Unlockables: Marco the Snitch.

Pick Yer Piece
--------------

Briefing: A lawman needs a gun he can rely on. Elijah's gone down to the
compound to test the performance of some firearms. Shoot as many cutouts as
you can, but remember, accuracy will also improve your score.
Difficulty: ****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 700 points
-Silver: 875 points
-Gold: 1,000 points
-Platinum: 1,250 points
Character: Elijah Jones
Walkthrough: A maximum of 1,700 points is practically impossible to achieve, so
the platinum score has been lowered. Be accurate and quick if you want the
medals though. You need to use the sniper most of the time, but the Garrett is
useful for the cutout that appears at the window. The other two guns are
pretty useless in my opinion. The cutouts appear in the courtyard at different
levels, and there are 17 in all. Luckily this time there are no cutouts that
you musn't shoot, so you can afford to shoot on instinct when you see
something move - but only if you're sure you'll hit!
Unlockables: Sgt. Rock.

These are fairly long, mission like challenges, which require a walkthrough
rather than simple general strategies.

Badass Buspass Impasse
----------------------

Briefing: Badass Cyborg is having one of those days. First of all he loses his
buspass and now he's realised that his spare brain is on the other side of
town. It's not going to be easy going to get it back on foot. Especially when
Special Forces have been deployed... again!
Difficulty: *
Requirements:
-Bronze: 5 min 0.0 sec
-Silver: 3 min 0.0 sec
-Gold: 1 min 30.0 sec
-Platinum: 45.0 sec
Character: Badass Cyborg
Walkthrough: You'll have to run from one end of town to the other. It's easiest
to ignore most guards after the first four or so, unless they're posing a
serious threat. Run across the twisting map and when you arrive at the other
side of town grab your spare brain. Then leg it right back to the time portal,
which is where you started off.
Unlockables: Badass Cyborg.

But Where do the Batteries Go?
------------------------------

Briefing: R107's therapist won't be pleased. Just when it looked like he was
finally cured his will has crumbled. He's slipped on a dark lycra body suit
and donned the crudely crayoned boxes once again. I - am - Robot!
Difficulty: ****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 10 min 0.0 sec
-Silver: 7 min 0.0 sec
-Gold: 5 min 30.0 sec
-Platinum: 4 min 15.0 sec
Character: R One-Oh-Seven
Walkthrough: This is very difficult, so I hope you're accurate. The enemy bots
hurt you a lot, and you'll die very quickly. You'll need to work out how best
to dispose of enemies; here is my strategy. Run through to the portal gateway
thing, dodging enemy fire, and run down the ramps which lead to the big main
room. Look left behind you and lob a plasma grenade at the autogun on your way
down. In the spiralling chamber shoot grenades on top of the jutting-out
platforms, as this destroys the autoguns beneath them. Keep shooting the frail
ChassisBots and you'll enter a room guarded by and autogun and many large
bots. Grenade the gun and use strafing behind walls to kill the bots and
advance to the next area, surrounded by more large robots. You'll get a
minigun, which makes life a lot easier. There is some armour in the final
corridor, which leads to a heavily guarded room. Use grenades and stuff to
kill the bots then collect the batteries. Run back and take the alternate
path to the right, which leads to a network of passages where TimeSplitters
will attack you. Mow 'em down and leap into the Time Portal. Phew!
Unlockables: R One-Oh-Seven.

Hit me Baby One Morgue Time
---------------------------

Briefing: It's autopsy turvy down at the hospital, the corpses just won't stay
put and undead priests are roaming the corridors. Mr. Underwood can't believe
his luck - he's brushed up his bowler hat and grabbed his trusty shotgun...
Difficulty: ***
Requirements:
-Bronze: 8 min 0.0 sec
-Silver: 4 min 0.0 sec
-Gold: 2 min 0.0 sec
-Platinum: 1 min 0.0 sec
Character: Mr. Underwood
Walkthrough: This is slightly easier, but watch out for sewer zombies who spit
green poison at you. Other than them, only Undead Priests can use projectiles.
Just ignore most zombies, running over or past them, and strafing so that you
have a mob following you. Shoot them in the head if you get the opportunity,
and hope that they kill each other (as zombies are prone to doing). When you
reach the large balcony chamber pause and run through to the other door,
without once looking back. Even then the Undead Priests may hurt you a little.
Run down the corridors and turn left at the main one, dodging "Priest" fire.
You'll come to balcony areas with flaming zombies. Grab the artefact thing on
one balcony then run into the Time Portal, which is in a small chapel.
Unlockables: Cropolite.

Simian Shootout
---------------

Briefing: An unscrupulous merchant is trying to flood the market with imitation
clay monkeys. Use your trusty shotgun to dust those cheap replicas and put him

Difficulty: ****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 600 points
-Silver: 1,000 points
-Gold: 1,800 points
-Platinum: 2,000 points
Character: Mikey Two-guns
Walkthrough: Nothing can really be said here, other than to really get the hang
of timing your shots. Stand in a position that allows you to kill 100% of
monkeys arriving from one place (e.g. the centre) and try to rack up combos,
as killing multiple monkeys doubles/triples etc. your score. Thank goodness
you get infinite ammunition!
Unlockables: Insect Mutant.

Monkey Mayhem
-------------

Briefing: Some evil circus clowns have enslaved the performing monkeys and
forced them to carry their watermelons! Free the monkeys by shooting the
watermelons out of their paws, but aim carefully...
Difficulty: **
Requirements:
-Bronze: 1,000 points
-Silver: 1,500 points
-Gold: 2,500 points
-Platinum: 3,000 points
Character: Ringmistress
Walkthrough: This is pretty easy as long as you are steady of hand and quick of
finger. Oh, and accurate. Position yourself so that you are aiming at a place
where the watermelons that the monkeys carry will move past. I suggest aiming
just outside of the tunnel on the left, with the crosshair just above monkey
head height. If you hit a monkey, restart, as it costs you 75 points. When a
melon comes past shoot and you'll have a platinum in no time.
Unlockables: Mischief; Lola Varuska.

Dam Bursters
------------

Briefing: The Russian Mafia objects to the building of the Siberian Dam, and
are trying to destroy it through the tactical use of exploding monkeys. It's
up to you to save the villages downstream by blowing up the monkeys before
they reach the dam!
Difficulty: ****
Requirements:
-Bronze: 4,000 points
-Silver: 6,000 points
-Gold: 8,000 points
-Platinum: 10,000 points
Character: Sgt. Shock
Walkthrough: This is pretty easy, as long as you have the knack of controlling
the minigun. Don't use alternate warm up, as it heats up the minigun a little.
True masters will repeatedly press the trigger button to keep the gun ready
for shooting. Never let it overheat, as too many monkeys will crash, losing
you too many points. The best method is to stay away from the central
sticking-out part and strafe towards the direction your targeted monkey is
coming from.
Unlockables: Robofish; Circus.

              ~CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE FINISHED THE CHALLENGES!!!~

\___________________________________________________________________________/

These are the basics of map making, using the Beginner mode.

1. Creating a Map
-----------------
To make your own map from the main menu select "Mapmaker" and "Edit/Create
new Map". This will bring up a blue grid on which you can place parts to make
a map.

2. Using the Start Menus
------------------------
Pressing start will bring up menus which you can use for many things:

Map Settings: Here you can choose the tile theme from Victorian, Virtual,
Industrial and Alien. You can also change the bot set for multiplayer and
story mode (advanced only). You can also write a map description and write
a briefing (again, this is for story mode, and only useful in advanced mode).

Editor Settings: This simply changes the mode you are using (advanced or
beginner). Remember that changing modes will clear the map.

Preview Map: Here you can preview your map. In MapMaker preview you can only
walk around it picking up items, but in the others you can test it out in its
respective modes.

Undo Last Change: Like Ctrl + Z on the computer, this will change the last
thing you did.

Centre Map: This puts your view in the centre of the map.

Clear Map: This resets the map so that nothing is in it.

Load Map: This loads an already saved map, whether it be an example map made
by the game or your own saved on the memory card.

Save Map: Using this function you can save your map to the memory card to
work on or play in future.

Help: Lets you view the MapMaker controls.

Quit MapMaker: Quits MapMaker.

3. Building a Map
-----------------
Pressing left or right on the control pad allows you to switch menus to
build. Start by placing tiles - remember that they will only be joined if two
red lines or blue lines are touching. Also, you can't make more than one
floor in beginner mode. Now add items - place guns (can be changed through
Map Settings) and ammo. Then add start points and zones for multiplayer. You
can also build doors and windows by pressing A where two red lines meet
between tiles. You can put in card keys and teleports for added fun. Finally,
you can change the lighting, making areas have different light colours, and
whether the light flickers or not.

4. What to Do Now
-----------------
Now you'll obviously want to play multiplayer in your newly built map. To
do this, load it then choose "Play Map" on the first screen after you select
"MapMaker" on the main menu. From here you can choose your game mode,
characters and get started!

\___________________________________________________________________________/

Now I'm writing assuming you know how to create a complex, place weapons and
start points, change lighting and so on. The basic purpose of this section is
to explain how to make a Story map.

1. Multiple Floors
------------------
The first thing about Advanced MapMaker is that you can have several floors.
Most tiles are the same, but there are some new floor linking tiles and
double-floor rooms. The potential for map creation is now huge with many
different types of complexes to be built. This FAQ does not cover each
tile/item etc., it's only brief. If you really want an in-depth look at the
MapMaker check Cayene of Doma's guide. Anyway, to link floor together there
only three tiles you can use. The simplest is a basic ramp. Then you have a
stair room, which has a curved ramp in it. Finally, you have a trench ramp
which is a large (blue-edged) ramp that descends into a trench. Use your
imagination to create a great map.
