TimeSplitters 2 - Strategy Guide (Page 06)
Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for TimeSplitters 2 - Strategy Guide (Page 06).
R-109 Beta ---------- Briefing: The latest run of R-109 prototypes are being combat tested. The most lethal unit will receive a command firmware upgrade. Demonstrate that you are the best. Difficulty: *** Map: Ice Station Mode: Gladiator Weapons: Rocket Launcher (start), Homing Launcher. Bots: 6x R-109. Requirements: -Bronze: 1st and 15 kills -Silver: 1st and 25 kills -Gold: 1st and 40 kills -Platinum: 1st and 45 kills Character: R-109 Walkthrough: This is a tough Gladiator Mission because the only weapons you have are rocket launchers. However, it is probably easier than "Killer Queen" because of the one-hit-kills situation. Kill the Gladiator and run downstairs to the area were the three tunnels intersect. You will find a Homing Launcher there. Use your radar to find which tunnel the bot(s) are coming down and kills them as they come. This doesn't always work, however, and the true strategy for the Platinum medal is to go to one of the four small towers and camp out at the top. From here you can snipe approaching robots easily. However, avoid the central building as bot congestion can be bad for your health. Unlockables: Gladiator Mode, Ufopia. 2. Elimination Series ===================== These are pretty easy missions in my opinion - just elimination (you have a set number of lives). The two first missions give each player 7 lives and a time limit, so you can't camp out and pick people off as they arrive. Too bad. Baking for the Taking --------------------- Briefing: Chef's baked up nine delicious gingerbread fortune cookies. Looks like he used too much raising agent - they're running away! Difficulty: * Map: Chinese Restaurant Mode: Elimination Weapons: Minigun (start) Bots: 9x Gingerbread Man Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st in 4 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 1st in 3 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 1st in 2 min 0.0 sec Character: Chinese Chef Walkthrough: This is a very easy map indeed. I got a platinum first try. You are armed with a minigun, and you should aim to get to the large room with a window below a balcony accessed via stairs, and with a doorway under the balcony. Camp out here and shoot the gingerbread men to smithereens as they arrive from upstairs and downstairs. Be sure to have the secondary mode on for the duration of the mission. Unlockables: Chinese Chef, Gingerbread Man. Brace Yourself -------------- Briefing: It had to happen. Braces just caught Louie Bignose and Jimmy Needles badmouthing him in front of Big Tony. Doity rats! Now they're gonna pay, see? Difficulty: ** Map: Nightclub Mode: Elimination Weapons: Luger Pistol, 2x Luger Pistol Bots: (BLUE) Jimmy Needles, Louie Bignose Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st in 2 min 30.0 sec -Gold: 1st in 1 min 45.0 sec -Platinum: 1st in 1 min 30.0 sec Character: Braces Walkthrough: In the same way that you hung out in a particular area in Baking for the Taking, here you should stay in the small alcove where a Luger Pistol spawns. To get there head outside (the gloomy area) and you'll see it marked by some sort of lantern. Because of the choice of weapon for this match you won't kill too many enemies, and they have to come to you quickly, so there is an element of luck. Unlockables: Braces. Starship Whoopers ----------------- Briefing: Hank, R-109, and Gretel II are helping Candi learn advanced combat techniques. During the lesson, prototype space monkeys will be beamed in to help the weakest player. Never a dull day in the Academy! Difficulty: *** Map: Scrapyard Mode: Monkey Assistant Weapons: Rocket Launcher, Homing Launcher. Bots: Hank Nova, Gretel Mk II, R-109 Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st and 15 kills -Gold: 1st and 25 kills -Platinum: 1st and 30 kills Character: Candi Skyler Walkthrough: The best way to go about doing this level is to treat it like a deathmatch. When monkeys appear, don't waste ammo on them as they don't count as kills. You just have to be quick and dodge them until they disappear again. When monkeys appear a flashing monkey's face will appear in the top left hand corner. Note that for monkeys to disappear again they have to kill the leading player. That will hopefully be you, so in that case camp out in the top corridor in the small indoor bit and pop a rocket in their asses when the monkeys arrive. A Homing Launcher spawns here, so you can afford not to worry about accuracy. Unlockables: Monkey Assistant Mode. 3. Burns'n'Bangs ================ These are similar to It's a Blast! from the Amateur League. You are armed with explosives (Rocket and Homing Launchers) but also Flamethrowers. This can either be a bonus or a curse depending on your playing style. Just remember - if you have been turned into an immolated pyromaniac try to walk up to others and set fire to them before you die, as if they die from slow burning you get a point as if you had killed them normally. If you have a Rocket/Homing Launcher, are on fire and can see no enemies nearby shoot the floor to commit suicide and waste less time. Chinese Burns ------------- Briefing: The Chinese Chef insists on only the freshest ingredients. Looks like he got more than he bargained for with the latest air freighted shipment of Calamari - they leapt straight out of the pan and are now trying to flambe him! Difficulty: ** Map: Chinese Restaurant Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: Flamethrower, Rocket Launcher, Homing Launcher Bots: (BLUE) 5x Calamari Requirements: -Bronze: 20 kills -Silver: 20 kills in 2 min 30.0 sec -Gold: 20 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 20 kills in 1 min 30.0 sec Character: Chinese Chef Walkthrough: Note my advice at the beginning of this section for what to do when immolated. Your best bet is to avoid flamethrowers altogether and go to the main room (like in the gingerbread man mission) and collect the homing launcher that spawns there. Now simply blast the Calamari and their crappy short range flamethrowers. (Luckily they completely ignore the fact that there are explosive weapons in this mission). Unlockables: Calamari. Snow Business ------------- Briefing: All the children love a Snowman... well, nearly all the children. The Machinist and his twisted siblings like nothing better than torching their chilly chums. Frosty's nose isn't just shiny - it's dripping with gasoline! Anyone got a match? Difficulty: * Map: Ice Station Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: Flamethrower Bots: (RED) Machinist (BLUE) 5x Snowman Requirements: -Bronze: 20 kills -Silver: 20 kills in 3 min 15.0 sec -Gold: 20 kills in 2 min 30.0 sec -Platinum: 20 kills in 1 min 45.0 sec Character: Machinist Walkthrough: It is much easier to avoid catching fire in this vast expanse. It is also harder to reach your enemies, but you can sneak up behind them. Your time limit isn't too tight either. Unfortunately, the Machinist has very low stamina and will die very fast when on fire. Also, don't be caught out by snowmen you have set alight - if you are too close to them when they go up in flames, you will too. Unlockables: Snowman. Rocket Man ---------- Briefing: Sergio loves to visit the Streets at night! He relishes the feel of the cold snowy air gusting through his loincloth as he scampers up and down. But most of all he loves to show off with his rocket launcher in front of the lovely ladies... Difficulty: *** Map: Streets Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: Rocket Launcher, Homing Launcher Bots: (BLUE) 5x Venus Starr Requirements: -Bronze: 40 kills -Silver: 40 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 40 kills in 1 min 30.0 sec -Platinum: 40 kills in 1 min 5.0 sec Character: Sergio Walkthrough: Another mission where your success depends upon how quickly the bots arrive. You can mow them down in no time when they do. I recommend staying in the streets, and making use of your explosives - aim downwards to ensure a kill. If you get hold of a homing launcher and see a gaggle of Venus Starrs aim roughly in their direction and shoot like hell. You want to get off all your rockets before you die, as the tight time limit doesn't allow for wastage. Unlockables: Venus Starr. 4. Outnumbered but Never Outpunned! =================================== In all three of these missions you are alone against a horde of enemies, usually the same character. Luckily, the weapons are quick and powerful, so you only have to camp out at a suitable looking spot and mow 'em down as they come. Finding out the bots in these missions was hell as they're not just listed on the pause screen - I had to play the mission and find out by counting. Someone Has Got to Pay... ------------------------- Briefing: Big Tony's been having some discrete hair transplant work done down at the Hospital. But in an anesthetic-induced daze he thinks that some giant ducks are after his new thatch to feather their nests! Help him out by whacking dem malicious mallards. Difficulty: * Map: Hospital Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: Shotgun, 2x Shotgun Bots: (BLUE) 5x Duckman Drake Requirements: -Bronze: 40 kills -Silver: 50 kills -Gold: 60 kills -Platinum: 80 kills Character: Big Tony Walkthrough: This is a pretty easy mission IHMO. You just have to head straight for the corridor with three doorways on the right and go to the third doorway down. Here 2x Shotguns spawn, so just stay in this small enclosure and shoot like hell as soon as ducks appear. You should get at least a gold easily. Unlockables: Duckman Drake, Captain Night. Time to Split ------------- Briefing: Krayola thought her tattoos and piercings were pretty freaky until the Scourge Splitters turned up at the compound. Show them that there's more to it than just looking hard... Difficulty: ** Map: Compound Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: SciFi Handgun (start), SBP90 Machinegun, 2x SBP90 Machinegun, ElectroTool, Lasergun. Bots: (BLUE) 2x Scourge Splitter Requirements: -Bronze: 15 kills -Silver: 15 kills in 3 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 15 kills in 2 min 30.0 sec -Platinum: 15 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec Character: Krayola Walkthrough: There are only two enemy bots, so run into the compound and grab a pair of SBP90s. Now head for the garage-type building and get the armour that spawns there. Shoot like hell as the Scourge Splitters appear and occasionally go out to collect ammo. The 'Splitters have a high stamina, and it takes a lot of bullets to put 'em down. Unlockables: Barby Gimp, Scourge Splitter. Can't Handle This ----------------- Briefing: Welcome to Hatchet Sal's cheese-induced nightmare. Well, at least we know what Big Tony's left-hand man looks like. Just goes to show, if you mutilate people for a living you've got to expect to lose some sleep... Difficulty: *** Map: Nightclub Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: Luger Pistol, 2x Luger Pistol, Tommy Gun, 2x Tommy Gun. Bots: (BLUE) 5x Handyman Requirements: -Bronze: 40 kills -Silver: 40 kills in 3 min 30.0 sec -Gold: 40 kills in 3 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 40 kills in 2 min 30.0 sec Character: Hatchet Sal Walkthrough: This can be a very hard mission at times. First off, keep restarting until you start near the hall with glass on either side (where you entered in Story mode). At the reception, down the side of a low wall, there are 2x Tommy Guns. Hand around at the doorway and put on your itchiest trigger finger. As soon as the Handymen arrive (they always seem to come at the same time, sporting Tommy Guns) blast like hell. They take off lots of life, so expect to have to lose several lives in the course of a game. It really is down to where you respawn - if it's too far from the place mentioned above quickly get the enemies to kill you. Unlockables: Hatchet Sal, Handyman, Chasm. 5. Team Series B ================ Another set of team based events; not good since your AI allies are basically bullet fodder, but at least they distract the enemy. One event is a deathmatch, another based on Capture the Case and the final another bloody Assault mission. Hack a Hacker ------------- Briefing: Sadako's gang have been selling warez down at the Compound. It's time for the anti-piracy riot squad to instigate a crackdown. They made 20 illegal copies - so kill them 20 times! Difficulty: * Map: Compound Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: SciFi Handgun (start), SBP90 Machinegun, 2x SBP90 Machinegun, Plasma Autorifle, Minigun. Bots: (RED) 2x Riot Officer (BLUE) Sadako, Krayola, Milkbaby. Requirements: -Bronze: 20 kills -Silver: 20 kills in 1 min 40.0 sec -Gold: 20 kills in 1 min 20.0 sec -Platinum: 20 kills in 1 min 0.0 sec Character: Riot Officer Walkthrough: A pretty easy mission. Run into the courtyard and grab either a minigun or a couple of SBP90s. There are enemies everywhere, even if there only three rival bots. Shoot them quickly and you should have racked up 20 kills within a minute or so. Unlockables: Krayola, Milkbaby. Rice Cracker Rush ----------------- Briefing: Ghost and a crack team of pacifist Monks are taking on the Riot Squad in a running Streets battle for some bags of munchies. The Monks are riding a heavy sugar rush after a rice cracker binge and are pretty wired. So much for non-violent protest! Difficulty: * Map: Streets Mode: Capture the Bag Weapons: Sniper Rifle, Soviet S47, Tactical 12-Gauge, Minigun. Bots: (RED) 2x The Master (BLUE) 4x Riot Officer Requirements: -Bronze: 5 -Silver: 5 in 5 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 5 in 4 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 5 in 4 min 30.0 sec Character: Ghost Walkthrough: This is easy too, even if you want a platinum medal. The Riot Officers will largely ignore you, preferring to attack your venerable monk friends. Run quickly across to their end of the street and grab the bag. There is a minigun nearby, so get that and turn on its secondary fire. Run back to your base and mow down anyone who gets in your way. Repeat this five times - easy! Unlockables: The Master, Riot Officer. Superfly Lady ------------- Briefing: Khallos is hoping to escape in his evil leer jet - but typically he has forgotten to fuel it up. If Kitten can just manage to beat off the henchmen and blow their barrels then his evil flight plans will be foiled once again... Difficulty: **** Map: Hangar Mode: Assault Weapons: 2x Silenced Pistol (start), Soviet S47, Tactical 12-Gauge, Lasergun. Bots: (RED) Dr. Peabody, Harry Tipper (BLUE) 3x Henchman, Khallos. Requirements: -Bronze: 6 min 0.0 sec -Silver: 3 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 2 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 1 min 30.0 sec Character: Kitten Celeste Walkthrough: Run out from your start point and strafe left from behind the screen of boxes. Destroy the minigun installed on the wall opposite. Repeat with the minigun on the right. You will have to do this within 10-15 seconds if you want a gold. Get a Soviet S47 and lob a grenade at the minigun up ahead. Go up-right to a doorway with guns on either side of it. Destroy them with a grenade each. Turn the corner and aim upwards. Blast away with your S47 to destroy the minigun on the crate. If guards bother you, aim for head shots. Go round into the large area and grenade the minigun opposite you between two conveyor belts. Turn right and look up at the ceiling. Shoot the guns on the left and right from a safe distance. You need to do this without dying for a gold. With a new objective head up stairs and lob a grenade at the sentry gun. Run to where the lasergun is and activate the switch on the wall nearby. Drop through the hole in the floor and get through the gap in the large door. It leads to a hangar where a large plane is parked. There are three barrels you must destroy. They are underneath the three sets of wheels for the plane. Chuck a grenade at each of the first two (must hit first time) and when you come in range of the third blow that up too. Bots should be mostly distracted by your teammates, but you may have to quickly deal with them. If you did that right, you should have a gold, or even a platinum! Unlockables: Hangar Assault Mode. Finishing this will unlock the Elite League. Good luck. ___________________________________________________________________________ / \ | 5c. Elite League | \___________________________________________________________________________/ 1. One Shot Thrills =================== Remember License to Kill in GoldenEye? That multiplayer mode allowed you to kill enemies in one shot. These three missions revolve around the same principle of quick moving and an itchy trigger finger. A second too slow and you'll end up dead, so speed and accuracy count for everything. Babes in the Woods ------------------ Briefing: Harry Tipper, alone in the Aztec Jungle, with a bunch of gorgeous young ladies... with his reputation? Has no one thought of the consequences? Just keep your bow in hand Tipper, and don't be getting shrunk just so you can look up their skirts! Difficulty: ** Map: Aztec Ruins Exterior Mode: Shrink Weapons: Crossbow Bots: 8x Jo-Beth Casey Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st and 15 kills -Gold: 1st and 20 kills -Platinum: 1st and 25 kills Character: Harry Tipper Walkthrough: Jo-Beth Casey is a nerdy girl with square glasses. You're up against a whole load of them, and your best bet is to run around shooting whoever you see. Camping out wastes too much time, so just shoot on sight. The pillar room is a very cosmopolitan area, so hang around there. The small Jo- Beths (the ones who are losing) become very hard to hit, and as it's one-hit kills you need to keep moving to avoid being shot. Unlockables: Jo-Beth Casey. Double Bill ----------- Briefing: Big Tony thought he was on to a winner when he booked the King and the Beetles to play a gig at the famous Chasm club. Imagine his surprise when these jokers showed up! And paid in advance! Needless to say, Tony wants his money back. Difficulty: *** Map: Chasm Mode: Thief Weapons: Tactical 12-Gauge Bots: 7x Beetleman, The Impersonator Requirements: -Bronze: 20 -Silver: 20 in 4 min 30.0 sec -Gold: 20 in 3 min 30.0 sec -Platinum: 20 in 2 min 30.0 sec Character: Big Tony Walkthrough: This mission is made hard by the fact that it is thief (an annoying multiplayer mode you encountered in Amateur League) and that the only weapon is the slow, crappy Tactical 12-Gauge. If you're caught reloading with that then you're dead. Stay in the central area, as bots hang around there, and be sure to collect all tokens you see - especially ones off people you killed. There's nothing more annoying than killing an enemy then being killed so someone else gets the loot. Unlockables: Beetleman, The Impersonator. Nikki Jinki Bricki ------------------ Briefing: Nikki and Jinki have taken over the Chinese restaurant. But it is haunted by the restless spirits who hit themselves on the head with bricks while trying to master the Brick Flung High challenge from the original TimeSplitters! Help your sister lay their souls to rest! Difficulty: **** Map: Chinese Restaurant Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: Brick Bots: (RED) Jinki (BLUE) 5x Crypt Zombie Requirements: -Bronze: 20 kills -Silver: 20 kills in 2 min 30.0 sec -Gold: 20 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 20 kills in 1 min 30.0 sec Character: Nikki Walkthrough: This is an extremely frustrating level, and you'll be dying every five seconds. What's more, you don't start with a brick and you can't punch! The mission is therefore down to luck. Also, make liberal use of the secondary mode and hang around the pond area where there's room to strafe. Unlockables: Nikki, Jinki. 2. Duel Meaning =============== Easy to get platinums in, you simply have to make your opponent lose all his/her/it's lives before you do yours. You'll have to keep all your lives to get a platinum, so prepare to restart a lot. I'll be illustrating the best strategy to use in order to achieve this. If I'm Ugly - You Smell! ------------------------ Briefing: Mikey told Jared that his center parting made him look like a water buffalo so then Jared told Mikey that he looked like one. There's only one way to settle a difference of opinion out West - a good ol' shootout! Yeehaw! Get yer guns! Difficulty: ** Map: Mexican Mission Mode: Deathmatch Weapons: Garrett Revolver Bots: Mikey Two-Guns Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st and 3 lives -Gold: 1st and 4 lives -Platinum: 1st and 5 lives Character: Jared Slim Walkthrough: This is the easiest of the three duel missions. Hang around in the courtyard, where there's plenty of room to strafe, and get a garrett revolver. When Mikey appears strafe like mad and blast away at him. The AI is pretty good, so chances are he'll do the same. Make sure you don't lose any lives or you'll have missed an easy platinum. Unlockables: Jared Slim, Mikey Two-Guns. Golem Guru ---------- Briefing: Two years have passed down at the Site and the building still isn't finished! The reason? A mass of discarded hardcore ahs come to life and chased all of the builders away. Only the lightning reflexes and guile of the Master can finally lay the Golem to rest. Difficulty: *** Map: The Site Mode: Deathmatch Weapons: Shotgun, 2x Shotgun, Grenade Launcher, Rocket Launcher, Homing Launcher. Bots: Stone Golem Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st and 3 lives -Gold: 1st and 4 lives -Platinum: 1st and 5 lives Character: The Master Walkthrough: This is the toughest duel mission, as you have very little stamina while the golem has it coming out of his ears. You must go for the scaffolding, as there is a homing launcher on one of the beams there. Get that and armour then strafe around in the open and shoot rockets at golem. It takes 2-3 to kill him. Get health from on top of a small mound and armour between some crates when you need it. Then get more ammo. Never go into the pipes, as you'll get your ass kicked in the tight space. Unlockables: Fat Characters (? - see "Unlockables"), Kypriss. Golden Thighs ------------- Briefing: Kitten Celeste is pretty miffed 'cause Harry Tipper has been spending rather too much time in the company of the Jungle Queen. Kitten says too many muscles look bad on a lady and her tan's fake anyway. So it looks like it's a catfight at the Dam! Difficulty: ** Map: Dam Mode: Deathmatch Weapons: Soviet S47, 2x Soviet S47, Tactical 12-Gauge Bots: Jungle Queen Requirements: -Bronze: 5 kills -Silver: 5 kills in 2 min 30.0 sec -Gold: 5 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 5 kills in 1 min 30.0 sec Character: Kitten Celeste Walkthrough: Jungle Queen is stockier than you, and she can take more hits, so don't go head-to-head with her. Instead go to the roof of the building where you get the mines in story mode and get 2x Soviets. Now grenade or mow her down. Easy gold, hard platinum. Unlockables: High Priest, Aztec Warrior. 3. Frantic Series ================= The final, and hardest, "series" in the Arcade League, this revolves around finishing missions in impossible times. You have to be extremely quick and above all, lucky. If many enemies come to you quickly you can rack up the high kill scores you need for a gold in time. So get ready for more restarting (it'll become second nature for the rest of the Elite League). The enemies are extremely quick, as in the "frantic" version of custom arcade league. Hangar Hat's Off ---------------- Briefing: The Henchmen think they're hard enough to beat a Special Forces' Team in a shootout down at the old Hangar. They need to be taught a lesson. Professional soldiers don't prance around dressed like bananas - and baseball caps and IR goggles are so 90's... Difficulty: *** Map: Hangar Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: 2x Silenced Pistol, Soviet S47, Tactical 12-Gauge, Rocket Launcher, Lasergun. Bots: (RED) 2x Sgt. Shock (BLUE) 4x Henchman Requirements: -Bronze: 30 kills -Silver: 30 kills in 2 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 30 kills in 1 min 30.0 sec -Platinum: 30 kills in 1 min 15.0 sec Character: Sgt. Shock Walkthrough: This mission has a horribly unforgiving time limit. You have to be very lucky in terms of enemies coming to you quickly. Outfit yourself with a pair of Soviet S47s and blast every henchman you see. If you're very lucky your team-mates will rack up some kills, but don't count on it. Unlockables: Henchman, Dark Henchman. Can't Please Everyone --------------------- Briefing: The Hospital needs redecorating. The Maidens like the idea of a cheerful red but the Priests are dead set on blue. Test out your colour schemes in key rooms to see what would be best. Difficulty: *** Map: Hospital Mode: Zones Weapons: 2x Silenced Luger, Shotgun, Tommy Gun, 2x Tommy Gun Bots: (RED) 2x Maiden (BLUE) 4x Undead Priest Requirements: -Bronze: 800 -Silver: 800 in 4 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 800 in 3 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 800 in 2 min 30.0 sec Character: Maiden Walkthrough: Your objective is to locate and secure as many of the four zones at a time as possible. This mission is really down to how well your fellow maidens fight; if they secure other zones you will do well, but they may behave like complete idiots. There are two ways to successfully do the mission - defend the zones you have (only two or three at a time is possible) or, if you know the level well, run about in a set circle activating all four zones each time. Unlockables: Maiden, Changeling. Big Top Blowout --------------- Briefing: There's been unrest at the Circus since Stumpy hammered a tent peg up Mr. Giggles' nose as part of last night's show. Mischief has cracked open a case of Homing Rocket Launchers and now it's every freak for themselves! Difficulty: **** Map: Circus Mode: Deathmatch Weapons: Homing Launcher Bots: Jinki, Leo Krupps, Bear, Stumpy, Mister Giggles, Kypriss, Mischief, Nikki, Sergio. Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st and 25 kills -Gold: 1st and 35 kills -Platinum: 1st and 45 kills Character: Ringmistress Walkthrough: A very annoying mission, as it requires a constant stream of enemies to attack you at the same time so you can rack up the necessary points for a gold. If you find yourself in a deserted area, with few enemies, it is doubtful that you will succeed. There are two good places to hang around in. One is the big arena where (I assume) performances are held and the other is in the large area outside the tents; many people run through it. Keep moving at all time, as the attack radius of a homing launcher is long. Unlockables: Master Giggles, Stumpy. 4. Team Series C ================ The final Team Series, and the hardest missions in the whole of the Arcade League. It starts with a capture the case mission where you have to be a defender and an attacker at the same time, while moving at lightning speed to avoid being killed by a hungry horde of horrid TimeSplitters. The next mission is easy, but the final assault mission is the pinnacle of TimeSplitters 2's difficulty - on a par with Atom Smasher and Robot Factory on hard. Bags of Fun ----------- Briefing: When Cortez and Hart aren't knocking seven bells out of the TimeSplitters they like to invite them over to the Ice Station for a friendly game of capture the bag. The TimeSplitters are inclined to take it a bit too seriously... Difficulty: ***** Map: Ice Station Mode: Capture the Bag Weapons: Plasma Autorifle, Homing Launcher Bots: (RED) Sgt. Cortez (BLUE) 2x Scourge Splitter, 3x Reaper Splitter Requirements: -Bronze: 3 bags better -Silver: 5 bags better -Gold: 7 bags better -Platinum: 10 bags better Character: Corp. Hart Walkthrough: Warn people that you may be shouting abuse at the top of your lungs before attempting this level. Then start by running to the top of your base (where the bag is located) and grab the homing launcher. Get the speed boost too, if it's there. Run to the opponents' base, grab their bag and run back. This is easier said than done, as a mob of screaming TimeSplitters are trying to kill you and capture your bag at the same time. Use your HL to dispatch them, then run back to your base to score. Ensure that you are familiar with the layout - their base is on the floating grey platform. Unlockables: Big Hands, Slow Deaths, Ringmistress. They're Not Pets! ----------------- Briefing: Mr. Giggles and Stumpy ordered a bunch of Baby Drones 'Splitters off the Internet. When they arrived they bit the Bear's nose and ripped off Lola's costume. The Ringmistress is not pleased - she wants rid of them! Watch out for the Bear though, he's pretty mad. Difficulty: *** Map: Circus Mode: Team Deathmatch Weapons: Crossbow, SBP90 Machinegun, Flamethrower, Plasma Autorifle, Tactical 12-Gauge. Bots: (RED) Stumpy (BLUE) Bear (YELLOW) 4x Baby Drone Requirements: -Bronze: 1st -Silver: 1st and 30 kills -Gold: 1st and 40 kills -Platinum: 1st and 55 kills Character: Mister Giggles Walkthrough: This is a breath of fresh air compared to the last mission. You should hang around in the main arena again, as many weapons and armour spawn there. Avoid bear if possible, as he has a lot of stamina. There is little to be said about this mission - it's more of the usual. Unlockables: Bear, Baby Drone. Nice Threads ------------ Briefing: United only by a passion for dressing up in silly costumes, R107 and Leo Krupps join forces to storm the Scrapyard Control Room. It's a death- defying assault against the SentryBots - but watch out for those thread lasers Leo! Oops, too late... Difficulty: *****(**) Map: Scrapyard Mode: Assault Weapons: ElectroTool, SciFi Handgun, Plasma Autorifle, Homing Launcher. Bots: 5x SentryBot (+ loads of sentryguns, lasers etc.) Requirements: -Bronze: 15 min 0.0 sec -Silver: 10 min 0.0 sec -Gold: 5 min 0.0 sec -Platinum: 2 min 30.0 sec Character: R-One-Oh-Seven Walkthrough: This is a horrendously difficult mission in comparison to all that came before it. Unlike the other assault missions this is not a "destroy- everything-quake-style" game - it instead requires you to rush ahead taking as little fire as possible. In the first area you should grab a plasma autorifle and blast only the guns near the door. You can't take your time, and don't worry if you die. Get a lasergun, turn on the shield then run into the base. You will always respawn from the entrance in there, so when you do get armour and a plasma autorifle from both side of the entrance. Go down the corridor, running like hell, and let Leo take enemy fire. When you reach a large cubic room with balconies slow down a bit and put plasma grenades on the platforms to destroy the lasers beneath. Use a lasergun with a shield to defend against all enemy fire while running like hell up the stairs and down the corridor to complete your second objective. In the next room are two rocket launchers; use all your dodging skill to get past them unscathed into the next hallway, then turn right at the T-junction. There is a gun behind you - turn and lob a plasma grenade onto it. The next room also has turrets, so just keep strafing and running through to the door opposite. Go on to a green-blue corridor with stairs on the right. Climb them and turn left. There is one last flight of steps here, guarded by a thread laser. Use your autorifle to destroy the final threat and run to a small switch you should activate to finish the mission. Phew! Unlockables: Scrapyard Assault Mode. 5. Sincerest Form of Flattery ============================= As a grand finale, Free Radical give us a bit of a joke in the form of three video game parodies. They are: Aztec the Dino Hunter (Turok: Dinosaur Hunter), Half Death (Half Life) and Dead Fraction (Red Faction). The missions are also quite easy.
