Information on Pokemon Box:
Pokemon Box is a game that allows you to store up to 1500 Pokemon on a GameCube
memory card. It also allows players to play Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire on the
GameCube without having to purchase a GameBoy Player. However, this game is
not the solution for obtaining the Kanto and Johto Pokemon which are absent
from Ruby and Sapphire, nor is it the solution to obtain the National Pokedex.
Although Pokemon captured in Colosseum are shown in Box, they have 3 question
marks for their number. Once Fire Red and Leaf Green are released, these
question marks will be replaced with the National Pokedex numbers. Fire Red
and Leaf Green will work with Pokemon Box as well. This is beneficial for
people who want to put a lot of Pokemon from one cartridge onto another without
having to trade them one at a time.

Gameplay:
The only gameplay in this game is moving your Pokemon into the Memory Boxes,
and receiving some eggs as rewards for storing huge amounts of Pokemon. A
Pichu that knows Surf can be yours if you fill up nearly every Memory Box, but
it’s too much hassle having to catch loads of Pokemon to obtain it. Also I
believe that a male evolved Pichu can’t breed Surf, meaning you have decide
weather you want to use it in Colosseum’s Level 50 or Level 100 Tournaments
since you can only get one Pichu for each Pokemon GameBoy Advance game you
have.

Replay Value:
This game only has some replay value if you have loads of Pokemon in your
GameBoy Advance boxes and you spend a lot of time training Pokemon. However,
the game can also be used to get the Pokedex entries for Ruby and Sapphire
Pokemon entered into Fire Red and Leaf Green more quickly and easily. For
example, if you put Groudon and Latias into Pokemon Box, they can then be
transferred to the Red or Green versions (provided that you have obtained the
National Pokedex, and have caught at least 100 Pokemon), thus receiving the
National Pokedex entries for them instantly.

Score:
I decided to give Pokemon Box a rating of 7/10. Although players can play
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire on it, it is easier to use the GameBoy Player since
you have to turn on your GameBoy Advance each time you want to save. Pokemon
Box is a storage system for Pokemon, so it’s not essential to buy but it will
help people to complete the National Pokedex once Fire Red and Leaf Green are
released.

				A. Arrange Boxes
*******************************************************************************

You can organise Boxes in Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire along with your party

press the A Button to finish. Marks can be checked on the Summary and List
   Screens.

4. Go To List
   ----------
Press the X Button on the Arrange Boxes Screen and then select "Go To List"
on the Arrange Boxes Menu Screen. All Pokemon in the Memory Boxes and

arrange the Pokemon based on that. Set the cursor on the column you want to
sort and press the A Button. Next, select the criteria and press the A
Button to set it. Once you've selected the criteria to arrange by, move the

The Pokemon in your Memory Boxes can be placed on a stage in the form of
pieces. You can then sit back and enjoy the view. First, you need to create
the stage.

The stages that are provided have various shapes and sizes. Select your
favourite one and press the A button. You can place your favourite Pokemon on
the stage with Place Piece. You can create as many pieces as you want from
one Pokemon.

Choose Place Piece and then press the X button anywhere on the stage. The
Memory Boxes will open, but the Advance Boxes will not. Set the cursor on a
Pokemon and press the A button to grab it. The selected Pokemon will then
become a piece. You can also drag the cursor while holding the A button and

the Pokemon you organised, stages you created, and your favourite wallpaper
will all be gone. Also, do not turn off the power and/or remove the Memory
Card while the game is saving.

*******************************************************************************
				D. Exit
*******************************************************************************

You can exit Pokemon Box and go back to the Title Screen. Don’t forget to save

###############################################################################
11)	Frequently Asked Questions
###############################################################################

Q: Can this game update the Berry Program on my Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire Game
Pak to prevent/fix the Berry Glitch?
A: Yes. The Berry Program will be automatically updated when you connect your
Game Boy Advance system to Controller Socket 2.

Q: Can I breed Surf onto another Pichu from an evolved Pichu that knows Surf?
A: No, Surf cannot be bred onto another Pichu.

Q: Can this game unlock the National Pokedex?
A: No, you’ll have to trade with Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green to unlock it.

Q: Can Pokemon from Pokemon Colosseum be stored in Pokemon Box?
A: Yes. Although they have no Pokedex numbers, they can be stored in Pokemon
Box. Once Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green are released, you’ll probably be
able to see the National Pokedex numbers for them.

Q: Where can I purchase Pokemon Box?
A: If you live in Europe, you’ll have to buy the Pokemon Colosseum GameCube
Pack or spent 4,000 Stars at the Stars Catalogue (while stocks last) to get it.
The European version comes with a free Memory Card 59. If you live in
Australia, you can purchase Pokemon Box for $50. The Australian version comes
with a free Memory Card 59 and Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable.

Q: Should I get this game?
A: It depends. If you are considering purchasing Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf
Green, you should get it. Pokemon Box can help you to complete the National
Pokedex more quickly and easily.

Q: Will Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green be compatible with this game?
A: Yes. However, you won’t be able to play them on the television. You can
still store Pokemon though. If you have a Game Boy Player, this won’t be a
problem.

Q: Are Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal compatible with
Pokemon Box?
A: No. Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal are NOT compatible
with Pokemon Box.

Q: Can I use any Memory Card with Pokemon Box?
A: Yes. You can use the Memory Card 59 or 251 with Pokemon Box.

Q: Can you store a Pokemon from Sapphire to Pokemon Box and then bring it to
the Pokemon GBA games?
A: Yes, but if you want to transfer a Pokemon from Sapphire to Fire Red/Leaf
Green by using Box, you’ll need to unlock the National Pokedex first.

Q: I have been playing the Ruby Version for some time and I can't find the
thing you need to blend berrys and get into the Safari Zone. Can you help me?
A: The berry blender is located at the Pokemon Contest buildings.

Q: I was wondering if it was possible to put pokemon in a Memory Box, start
the game again, and still be able to access them. Will it matter that the
trainer numbers will be different?
A: Pokemon with different trainer numbers can be accessed if you transfer
your Pokemon to Box and start your game, but you won’t be able to access them
again until you’ve caught 100 Pokemon. Also, your Pokemon mightn’t obey your
commands if you don’t have enough Gym Badges.

Q: Can you store multiple Pokemon in Pokemon Box and transfer them to the
Pokemon GBA games?
A: Yes, you can store multiple Pokemon and transfer them to these Pokemon
games. However, you must have caught 100 Pokemon in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire
in order to use it. In addition, if you want to transfer them to Pokemon
FireRed and LeafGreen, you must beat the Elite Four, collect the National
Pokedex from Prof. Oak and fix the machine at the Pokemon Net Centre as well.

Q: Can you store items in Pokemon Box?
A: No, you can't store items in Pokemon Box. You can attach them to your
Pokemon though.

Q: Can Pokemon, such as Kadabra and Haunter, evolve if they are transfered to
Pokemon Box?
A: No, these Pokemon won't evolve since you're just transfering them and not
trading them.

Q: Will Pokemon Box allow me to store Pokemon with different ID numbers?
A: Yes, Pokemon Box will allow you to do this.

Q: Do you need to capture 100 different Pokemon in order to use Pokemon Box?
A: Yes, you must do this.

Q: Can you transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Colosseum to Pokemon Box?
A: Yes, but you must trade them to Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/FireRed/LeafGreen
first and then transfer them to Pokemon Box.

Q: Can eggs from Pokemon Box be transfered to the Pokemon GBA games?
A: Yes, but I think you must unlock the National Pokedex first in Pokemon
FireRed/LeafGreen before you can transfer them.

Q: Can I store Pokemon from different Pokemon GBA games in Pokemon Box?
A: Yes, you can store them and they can be transfered to any Pokemon GBA game
as long as you have caught 100 Pokemon.

Q: Can I transfer all my Pokemon from my collection of Pokemon GBA games to get
the Pokemon eggs more quickly and easily?
A: Yes, you can do this as long as you have captured 100 Pokemon on each
Pokemon GBA game.

Q: How come the National Pokedex numbers don't appear on the screens showing my
Pokemon?
A: If you haven't unlocked the National Pokedex in your Pokemon GBA game, you
won't see the National Pokedex numbers. Trade with Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen
to unlock it.

Q: Can I get more than one Surfing Pichu for each Pokemon GBA game?
A: No, you can't get more than one Surfing Pichu for each Pokemon GBA game.

Q: Can I clone Pokemon by using Pokemon Box?
A: No, you can NOT do this.

Q: Can I move my Pokemon Box save to another Memory Card?
A: No, you can NOT do this. This is to prevent you from cloning your Pokemon.

Q: If I use a Freeloader on my North American version of Pokemon Box, will I be
able to transfer Pokemon from my European Pokemon GBA games to Pokemon Box?
A: I honestly don't know. Some games, such as Pokemon Colosseum, aren't
compatible with the Freeloader. The data on your Pokemon GBA games could get
erased if you do this, so I advise getting the European version of Pokemon Box
from the Stars Catalogue (while stocks last).

Q: Can I transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Box after starting a new game on Pokemon
FireRed/LeafGreen?
A: No, you can't do this. You must catch 100 different Pokemon before you can
use Pokemon Box. You must also fix the machine at the Pokemon Net Centre on
One Island by finding the Ruby and Sapphire Gemstones.

Q: I have traded a lot of pokemon with ruby. I just got sapphire and I want to
know if I can take game from this sapphire cartradge even thought my box has
ruby on it? will it destry my rbuy file( its warning of corpution of files? )
or can I pop ruby in the saph. and then fire red to trade all to box?
A: If you want to transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Sapphire to Pokemon Box, you
can as long as you have caught 100 Pokemon. If you already have Pokemon from
Pokemon Ruby stored on Pokemon Box, you can store Pokemon from Sapphire there
as well. Store your Ruby Pokemon first and then your Sapphire Pokemon. You
can't store Pokemon from different Game Paks at the same time. You may only
have one Game Pak connected to the GameCube at a time.

Q: How do I select more than one Pokemon to transfer to Pokemon Box?
A: Simply press the A Button while selecting them.

Q: I transfered 1,499 Pokemon to Pokemon Box, but I didn't get the final egg.
How come?
A: You must transfer 1,499 Pokemon in the same Game Pak to get the final egg.

Q: I started a new game on Pokemon Ruby and transfered my starter Pokemon to
Pokemon Box. When I was trying to transfer it back to Pokemon Ruby, I couldn't
do this. How come?
A: You must collect 100 Pokemon before you can transfer it back.

Q: Will I be able to play Pokemon Emerald on Pokemon Box?
A: No, you won't be able to do this. You can still store Pokemon though.

Q: Do I need to get the Ruby and Sapphire Gemstones in Pokemon
LeafGreen/FireRed to be able to transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Box if I have
Pokemon LeafGreen/Fire Red?
A: Yes, you must do this. You must also catch 100 Pokemon and obtain the
National Pokedex from Prof. Oak as well.

Q: When can I start transferring Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire to Pokemon
Box?
A: You can do this after you catch 100 Pokemon. Unlike Pokemon
FireRed/LeafGreen, you don't need to unlock the National Pokedex to use Pokemon
Box with Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire.

Q: How many blocks of a Memory Card are used in Pokemon Box?
A: 59 blocks are used.

Q: If I transferred a Pokemon from Sapphire to Box and then transferred it to
FireRed, would it still get the traded experience bonus?
A: Yes, the Pokemon would still get the traded experience bonus. Every Pokemon
from a different Game Pak has a different ID Number, so it would get the bonus
even though you didn't trade it.

Q: Is the happiness of my Pokemon affected by transferring it to Pokemon Box?
A: Yes, your Pokemon's happiness returns to its neutral state. If you use
moves, such as Frustration and Return, on your Pokemon, I advise not
transferring it.

Q: I have recieved 2 Zigzagoon eggs and 2 Swablu eggs, but when I tried to
transfer more Pokemon to Pokemon Box, I reieved a Swablu again. How come?
A: If you transfer Pokemon from different Game Paks to Pokemon Box, the game
reset back to the Zigzagoon egg. To counter this problem, I suggest
transferring all your Pokemon to one Game Pak and then transfer all your
Pokemon to Pokemon Box to recieve new eggs.
