Here are some of the Tips and Tricks I have seen around:
After choosing your name at the screen that says Ready! (Also says "Enter cheat
codes now" at the bottom) Hold L1 and use any of the following button combos:

More Reward Points: Just keep making new names and completing Street School for
an easy 1,000 Reward Points. This handy trick is good for getting your created
baller MAX stats before even playing with him.
Another great way to do this is set the difficulty level to Legendary and play
a Pick Up Game on My Rules. Set it to where you do 1 thing and win, for example; I
choose to do a regular Pick Up game and I just set my points up to 20 so I need 1
point to win. If you are worried about low trick points average just do a Trick
Point Challenge and set it to 10,000,000 so you can really boost that average and
don't forget to set your spot to 9,900,000 unless you need to up those stats. If
you just want the points create a new name and use it for nine games so that it
doesn't show in the top10, then delete it and start again (This creates lots of
Reward Points 9 x 150 = 1350 Reward Points and each game takes 20 seconds... this
is a great way for fast Reward Points).
Quick Development Points: Either use the Reward Points tricks to get a bunch of
Reward Points and trade them for Development Points or when you play Be a Legend
set the difficulty to Legendary. The game should take around 2-3 minutes and you
leave with 1,000 Development Points if you get a few Level 2 GBs (A few meaning
atleast 3). Please note that you must be highly skilled to do this in the short
amount of time (I average 10 steals and 10 blocks on this difficulty so if you
cannot do the same or better then do not attempt this) I listed.
Increase Averages: The best way I have found to increase the stat averages is to
set a very high Trick Point Challenge score (7 or 8 million will do but if you
really want to go ballistic do 10 mil.) and play it through untill the end getting
lots of almost everything. I scored 72 blocks, 25 steals, 57 dunks, 3 GB1's and
8 GB2's in just one game so you can imagine how much you guys could do if you
really wanted something bogus.
How to beat the Mad Game and Legendary difficulty levels: If you are used to
playing on Got Game difficulty and getting 20 blocks, 10 steals and popping the
3-point bomb without pumpfaking and making it you are in for a cold slap in the
face to awaken in the real Street Style. Most of the time in Mad Game you are not
going to make the 3-point shots that you might be used to, doing a fakeout then
getting a pumpfake increases your chances to about 30-50%, even if your baller has
a crown in Shots. Chances are that if you don't do a fakeout or pumpfake before
you do anything you will get blocked and if you do an advanced move with a bad
ball handler (anyone not maxed in handles) it could possibly be stolen. In
Legendary difficulty it's the same way except they make lots of 3-point shots and
steal shots alot, but it seems like I too get lots of steals on trick counters
because they do lots of tricks. On both of these difficulties (mostly the
Legendary difficulty) having level 2 Gamebreakers is a must. For the Mad Game you
can probably get 1 or 2 of these and dunk them to be fine with the game, but on
Legendary your going to need atleast one of them to be a 3-point shot unless you
can block or steal enough to hold your own on them. These difficulties force you
dunk more often because of their ability to steal and block with such amazing
efficiency and consistency, so basically dunk alot, get level 2 gamebreakers, and
WIN!
Note: I have actually found that doing a few tricks at a time on Legendary mode
will decrease their steal rate and increase you fakeout rate. Also, doing a
fadeaway on Long Range Shots after doing a fakeout helps alot. A created baller
with max steals and another with max blocks will really help with those categories
(I would know).

Nicknames
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After getting to Reputation Level 3: All Star in Be a Legend mode you earn a new
name to be called by, your nickname, according to your style of play. I will list
the nicknames and how to earn it according to the game. Any contributions that are
in this format will be accepted so if you want to be part of this FAQ send away
because it will take me forever to get all those nicknames (10-15 nicknames and
that's with having to play atleast 25 games do reach Reputation Level 3, so you do
the math). Here's what I've compiled so far:
Note: Some quotes are not at all accurate since people did not provide them for
some of the names (So that kind of left me to make some up, if anyone could send
me the real quotes with the name it would be gladly accepted and added under your
name).
Flash: "With those kinda tricks, we're gonna have to call you: Flash"
How to earn: Have lots of trick points without really favoring a specific move in
each game (Favoring meaning that you don't always Dunk or Block to get the Trick
Points).
Satelite: "The way you're beaming in J's, we're gonna have to call you: Satelite"
How to earn: Have lots of 3 point shots in each game.
Eraser: "You make those shots disappear, we're gonna have to call you: Eraser"
How to earn: Have lots of blocks in each game.
Armageddon: "With the fear you bring, we're gonna have to call you: Armageddon"
How to earn: Have lots of blocks and rebounds in each game (Invloves power).
Cosmic: "Your dunks have us seeing stars, so were callin you cosmic"
How to earn: Have lots of dunks in each game.
Bigbang: "Blowing up the rim on the jam, we're gonna have to call you: Bigbang"
How to earn: Have lots of dunks in each game.
Runway: "Creating lanes to dunk in, we're gonna have to call you: Runway"
How to earn: Have lots of picks in each game.
Nosebleed: "You fly so high, we're gonna have to call you: Nosebleed"

Playground: "Taking them kids to school, we're gonna have to call you: Playground"
How to earn: Have lots of tricks points favoring gamebreakers.

Spider: "With arms everywhere and a web of D that no one can get through, you've

course mine will be the highest (Just kidding) but everything I post will be
accepted as real unless it is totally outrageous (500 blocks in 1 game). When
contributing please tell the category, team name, name you wish to be called and
the score. If the score is good enough to make the top10 it will be added.
Note: Only the first 5 Street Legends with perfect records, 46W-0L, will be added.
(Please be honest you are killing your image if you're not and you will have to
live with the guilt of being a liar all your life).

Q: I only have 440 Progression Points in "Be a Legend" mode. How do I get to 450
so I can enter the '78 Rucker Park Challenge?
A: Win all the possible Pick Up Games and tournaments and you should have a
record of 46-0 and have a Reputation of Legend if you earn lot's of trick points
in the tournaments and destroy the challenges. If not, here is a great helper for
us by raven_crow50.
Note: Please be aware that the Pick Up Games are in the "Be a Legend" mode and are
not meant to be played in the "Pick Up" game mode, many people have had this
missconception.
The way to overcome this cumbersome problem is to go back to each of the cities
and complete their Street Challenges again, one by one, until each one has been
played and defeated at least once. It gains them more reputation points until they
become a legend and gain the final 10 progression points.

I have found that using your baller and getting good scores at the end of the game
helps (Best baller helps alot). Like when it shows your baller's stats and you
have lots of points and trick points it will increase your Reputation Increase for
that game. You can also use these stats to help chart your progress towards a
specific nickname that you might want.
Q: I can shut out the teams on Got Game difficulty but the Mad Game and Legendary
teams beat me almost every time. What can I do to beat them?
A: This is in the Tips and Tricks section so I will just quote it from there:

Q: I cannot win the tip, even against a really short guy! How do I win the tip?
A: This is problem with alot of button mashers. Simply press Circle and only
circle when the ball reaches it's highest point of the toss. Pressing any other
buttons will cause you to trigger a function making you not able to win the tip
so do not press any other buttons. Also pressing Circle more than one time (MASH)
will cause the same effect.
Q: Can me and my friend both use a memory card to play against each other?
A: Unfortunately no. This is because the game will not allow you to load from the
2nd memory card slot allowing you only to use the memory card in slot 1.
Q: Can my Created Player play for a real NBA team?
A: Someone brought it up that you can have your CAB play for an NBA team after
completing the NBA Challenge mode in this game but after I completed it I was
never given the option to do this so the answer to this question is no.
Q: Your high scores are impossible! How did you ever achieve them?
A: Play a Pick Up game using "My Rules" and do a Trick Point Challenge to 10 mil.

any or all categories.
