Castlevania: Dawn Of Sorrow - Strategy Guide (Page 07)

Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Castlevania: Dawn Of Sorrow - Strategy Guide (Page 07).

*Attacks*

1. Spikes raise from the ground on the side of the room.
2. Spikes stick out from above in the middle of the room.
3. The boss's mouth open and breathes out poison gas.

*Strategy*

THIS is the final boss? Come on, Konami, give us a break. You can easily
dodge all of its attacks. Basically you are caved in, so don't run into the
'wall' or the body of the boss. When you see the spikes coming out, simply
run out of its range. When you see the mouth open, stay away. If you equip
a spear series with the Medusa_Head[G] soul and stap the face in the
middle, you will find this phase of battle even boring. Don't waste your MP
on it. Upon taking certain amount of damage, the boss will transform into
its second form.

== Boss Fight : Menace (2) ==
=============================

*Attacks*

1. It slowly walks towards you, or walks back.
2. It sends out flying-mouth-like-things.
3. It swings its fist either horizontally or rather vertically.
4. It tries to pulverize you by taking a giant step when you are on the
   ground.

*Strategy*

Now, THIS feels more like the boss battle, doesn't it? The weak points of
this boss is the face which is protected by the skull helmet from time to
time, and the knee which also has a face of its own. Those floating things
make the battle worse. You should protect yourself from being hit by them
while attacking the boss. If you fall from the ledges you can either use
Hippgryph ability to get back up or use the ledges on the far left side of
the room. The boss pauses briefly before it swings its fist so you will
know when to dodge it. When the boss corners you to the side of the room,
try getting behind of the boss using the Bat_Company[G] soul. Use the souls
with a long range if you don't want to get hit. There is not much to tell
you about this battle other than these. Good luck!

===============================================================================

Congratulations, you beat the game! You can still play the game on Julius
mode or play Boss Rush mode. You can also start a new game on the Hard mode,
where the enemies get stronger and you have the weapons and souls from your
previously cleared data (some exceptions exist). Enjoy!

##### 7. Spoilers ##### [0007]
###############################################################################

Use this section to solve the mysteries of certain rooms.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UMA_news describes a certain monster that appears to collect food. Have you
noticed there is a moving sprite in the background of this room? You can
find No.29 Yeti here. Use the Waiter_Skeleton[B] soul to lure it out and
spam fire souls such as Flame_Demon[B] or Aguni[B]. You can also stop the
time to attack it. Its soul is fairly easy to collect.

Look around. Two giant mirrors...Through the Looking Glass, anyone? If you
have the Paranoia[B] soul you can enter the mirrors in the castle. You will
find a Tear_Of_Blood here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use the Paranoia[B] soul to find a Rosary here.

To move the statue, set the last three digits of your money as 777 and stand
in front of it. Use the monsters and candle holders to get money when your
MP is full.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use the Paranoia[B] soul to find a Megingiord here.

Simply use the Skeleton[B] soul on the pink wall and the wall will collapse.

Use the Bat_Company[G] soul or Hippgryph ability to go into one of the bells
found in the room. You will see a Bell drop from the bell.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you sit on the chair here, a Crown will appear from the ground. Remember
the Castlevania games from NES when you could get these by performing some
actions in certain places? Good times people, good ol' times... You can sell
it for $2500.

Use the Paranoia[B] soul to find a Dracula's_Tunic here.

Use Axe_Armor[B], Killer_Clown[B] and Ukoback[B] souls on the wall in a
sequence to open the passage here.

Use the Paranoia[B] soul to find a Mana_Prism here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To move the statue, set the last three digits of your money as 573 and stand
in front of it.

Use the Paranoia[B] soul to find a Platinum_Stud here.

If you can manage to go to top platform (where there are no spikes) using
either the Puppet_Master[B] soul or the Bat_Company[G] soul and sit there,
Konami_Man will fly towards you for you to collect.

UMA_news describes a certain monster appearing in the sky. Have you noticed
there is a moving sprite in the background of this room? You can find
No.32 Flying Humanoid here. Use the Mandragora[B] soul, and you will always
get the Flying_Humanoid[G] soul.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have hammer series weapons, try them: you will get a Potion by
hitting the seesaw with a Mace. If you have synthesized hammer weapons, try
them too and each weapon from hammer series will reward you with different
Potions. Here is the list of potions you can get.

Potion (Mace required) / High_Potion (Morgenstern required)
/ Super_Potion (Mjollnjr required)

You have two way of crossing the path here. One is to use the Bone_Ark[G]
soul. You will consume about 200 MP if you do that. Another is to use the
Bat_Company[G] soul or to turn off Rahab ability. Doing so will only take
you to the wall in the middle of the room. You need to use the
Puppet_Master[B] soul with the combination of the Skeleton_Ape[E] soul to
pass the wall, then cross the rest of the way using same method you used to
get to the wall. It is recommended that you have the Bat_Company[G] soul
when you visit there. It is also recommended that you set the last three
digits of your money to 600~650 before you enter the area.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use the Paranoia[B] soul to find a Super_Potion here.

If you touch the DS screen on the energy ball, it will pop, breaking the
surrounding ice blocks. There is also an iron gate on the top of the screen
that blocks your way up. Corner the ball by breaking ice blocks accordingly,
pop it right next to the gate. The gate will break open and you will be free
to go to the upper part of the room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notice the machinery in the middle of the room? If you use the Rycuda[B]
soul the machine will charge up to summon No.81 Mothman. Its soul will let
you have more experience points when you kill a monster.

To see the bad/good endings, use the Paranoia[B] soul and go into the
mirror. Inside the mirror, you will fight Aguni instead of Dario.

After you defeat Aguni, you have to go to , . To see
a BAD ending, DO NOT equip Mina's_Talisman that Arikado gave you and enter
, . Congratulations! You just beat the game for the
bad ending.

To see a GOOD ending, EQUIP Mina's_Talisman and enter ,
. After the cut scene there, you will have to go to ,
. The path to will then open and you will be able
to explore the next area of the game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have 100% of souls in the game, you can find a Chaos_Ring in this
room. The Chaos_Ring will regenerate MP very quickly so you can use soul
attacks without worrying about depleting MP.
