Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Castlevania: Dawn Of Sorrow - Strategy Guide (Page 05).
*Strategy* This is going to be a very easy fight. All of its attacks are easy to dodge, and you have plenty of room to maneuver so I will not go over the details. To avoid icicles, simply get in the space between two falling icicles. It is very easy to hit the boss while it is out of water. Follow the bubbles when the boss is submerged and you can expect where the boss will initiate its next attack. The platform that the boss will create is of no use for you: they will break soon, and you are better off attacking the boss while it doesn't attack you under water anyways. Killer_Clown[B], Malachi[B] or leveled up Cave_Troll[B] will make good range attacks, while Disc_Armor[B], Guillotiner[B] and such will help you in more melee-attack oriented combat. Familiars will help too since they can attack the boss while it is submerged and out of your weapon attack range. You will want to attack the boss fast while it is out of water. Finish the fight quickly to obtain Rahab ability, which allows you to move underwater. Go back and save if you want. Now you can 'swim' by pressing jump button in the water. Go to. A bunch of new marine creatures are found here. Merman is weak but it can be bothersome if left unattended. Fish Head is just like the Bone Pillar in the water. Decarabia is just like Buer in the water. So much for 'new' enemies, eh? Drop down to . This is a very large room with lots of items to collect. Orchestrate your swimming so you won't get hit by Needles or Fish Heads. Refer to the map in this guide and collect a Chain_Mail, a High_Mind_Up, a Rusty_Food_Tin and a $2000 money bag. Killer_Fish[B] soul is one of the best souls to use in the water. When you are done, find your way to . Prepare to take a hit by Needles while dropping down to the bottom of the room, unless you have the Killer_Fish[B] soul, leveled up Buer[G] soul or anything that can protect you. Once dropped down to the bottom floor, try to take out Needles first and make your way to . Procel will give you yet another ability, Procel(duh). It will let you move in the water as fast as you would do on the ground. This room is not the best place to get its soul but if you are either not good at control or simply frustrated by the resistance you have when you are in the water then get its soul here. Proceed to . Frozen Shade is found here. She will attack you with three giant icicles but they will fall if you attack them. Frozen_Shade[B] soul is a decent Bullet-Type soul. Go to . There is a gate blocking your way. Go back to . There is nothing but Ring-the-Bell like seesaw and three bells. You can get some potions in this room(see Spoilers). Go back to . This is the only place in the castle where you will find Alura_Une. Her soul could be very useful depending on a situation, and you can have another soul combo with this soul and the Une[B] soul. She is weak against fire attacks, so it is suggested that you come back when you get powerful fire souls later, but if you are lucky enough you will get her soul right away. Make your way to . Pick up the money bag located on the bottom left corner of the room. If you want to go back to and collect some items and complete the map, go to . Otherwise, exit to
.Ukoback sets fire in the mid-air. You can attack it to make it disappear. Go to
. Bone ark will shoot out an energy ball that will explode. If you kill the big skull that's carried by the skeletons first then the skeletons will run toward you. Find a save room on your right and go up to . Just eliminate enemies here and open the door. You will find yourself in again. (Continue to , ) On your left is a portal. If you don't have the Zephyr[B] soul now, then proceeding from this point is not recommended. Your path will be eventually blocked and you will have to go back to find the Zephyr[B] soul later and come back. The portal here will make your return trip easier. To get to , go to , -2. This is the best place to get Procel ability, although now it is not as useful as it could have been if you had it earlier. Find a Mushroom and go to . Nothing special here. Simply advance to . Drop down all the way to the bottom to find a save room on your right. If you go out of top left exit, you will able to find Eversing through hidden room eventually. If you take the bottom left exit, you can collect a bunch of Mushrooms. Watch out for Medusa Heads here. If you are from top left exit of , proceed to the platform where you see a Devil, double jump to the left and do the kick to down-left direction or swing your weapon. You will brake the wall beyond the waterfall and will find Eversing in . If you are from lower exit of, make your way upward and you will find Mushrooms and an Amanita. Amanita is not edible unless you have the Ghoul[E] soul. You know why you shouldn't just pick up wild mushrooms and eat them, right? I will give you a hint: you will grow mustache, grow double your size and will be able to smash blocks in your way...(heh) Now you have another decision to make. If you want to visit , which is completely irrelevant to the storyline but is important because of the items and souls you can collect, you can go to through . However you will need a certain soul (or combination of souls) to cross the path there. Otherwise you will want to go to , which leads you to . Pick up the Eversing on the ground and get back to. Then the time stops and you can't proceed any farther. To restore the time flow here, you will need the Zephyr[B] soul. Use it and you will be able to advance to . Did you notice the music? It's the Vampire Hunter! Even the enemy setup is somewhat similar to that of the NES version of the first Castlevania, with Ghouls and whatnot. Who agrees with me that Konami should have put Black Panther here to complete the Castlevania 1 feel? (heh) Feel the nostalgia and go to . This room is filled with skeleton themed enemies. If you want to collect a Rare_Ring, head to . Otherwise you will want to go to through either or . There is a small energy ball moving around inside ice blocks. See Spoilers to find out a way to pass. Watch out for the Devil and collect the Rare_Ring. Go back to . The gas cloud that Gorgon breathes out will petrify you, so watch out. Go to . Dead Crusader will most likely block your attacks. The Amalaric_Sniper[B] soul will catch it off guard. You can also set the Ukoback[B] soul and lure it into taking damage. Using the Zephyr[B] soul could be one way of taking it down as well. Advance to . If you want to collect an item or want to open the gate to , exit to . If you want to activate a portal then go to . If you want to find a save room or want to fight with the boss exit to . There is a chair found on the bottom floor. Larva is a little bit annoying, but you can take it out easily. If you want a Mana_Prism go to . If you want to collect the Waiter_Skeleton[B] soul or open the gate to , then go to . Otherwise head back to . Yet another giant mirror is found here. Watch out for the Ghouls, pick up the Mana_Prism and get back to . This is the best room to collect the Waiter_Skeleton[B] soul. As you level the soul up, the dish you can throw will get larger. You can also go beyond the door and open the gate in , . When you are done, go back to . Note that if you kill the dog that Dead Mate sends out, you will not get his soul(in other words, you have to kill the master first). Find a portal to your right, activate it and get back to . A cut scene is shown. If you come back to this room later, a Dead Mate and Ghouls will be waiting. This is the best room to collect Dead_Mate[B] soul since Ghouls are the only other monsters that are found in this room. Find a save room on your right, head up and exit to . This room looks a little bit busy with all the enemies. Watch out for the bats since you can't spot them easily sometimes. Proceed to the right and break the seal at the end of the corridor. You will face yet another boss, Bat Company. As you enter the room, a group of bats will form a giant bat figure. Basically this is an another form of regular giant bat bosses we've fought in Castlevania series. ============================== == Boss Fight : Bat Company == ============================== *Attacks* 1. The bats form a giant bat figure. 2. The bats form a hand. The hand will slowly reach to you and will try to grab you. 3. The bats take a Moai figure(this is a parody of one of the enemies found in Konami's own Gradius series) and shoot circle lasers forward. *Strategy* This is a relatively easy boss considering that this boss appears later in the game. You have powerful enough weapons and souls to defeat it(them?) quickly. The first form is easy to deal with: the giant bat will move towards you two times, each time with certain time interval, so simply double jump over it. The second form could be lethal: avoid contact with the hand figure since you will get hit multiple times. A Moai head figure will attack with...you guessed it, the circle laser that the enemy is known for. You can swing your weapon or use souls to repel them. Generally this boss should not cause you too much trouble. Malachi[B], Mandragora[B], well-timed Frozen_Shade[B] or Ukoback[B] souls can help, but you will mostly want to attack the boss head on with help of your Guardian souls. You will receive the Bat_Comapny[G] soul when you easily walk out of this fight with your victory. Now that you have the Bat_Company[G] soul, you can do a lot of stuff. You can... *explore the rest of the castle, finding some items you have missed or simply completing the map. *pay a visit to if you haven't been to there. This area is not related to the storyline but you can collect some items and souls. You also have to have required soul(s) to cross the path to there. If this is what you want to do, head to , . The end is near, so be alert. As you enter the room you will see Yoko standing before you. Don't get tricked, since this is just a Succubus in disguise. Her soul can be used not just against the enemies but also onto candle holders(glitch?). Advance to . If your HP is low and you need to find a save room quickly, go through to. You can take another route through and to get to . This is one of the best places to get the Werewolf[G] soul. Drop down to if you want to just pass or if you already have its soul. Flame Demon makes its appearance here. Its soul is powerful and can be used in a combination with the Bat_Company[G] soul. Watch out for the Werewolf and find the way to . Find a save room by going through the top right exit. This is where your path forks yet again. If you want to activate a portal or collect an item, go to . If you want to see a normal ending, go to . If you want to be able to go into the giant mirrors and/or want alternative endings but haven't been to, , then go to . If you want to see alternative endings and have already been to , , go to . You can see all the endings even if you finish the game and save it, so it is suggested that you see a normal ending first.Do not drop down all the way to the bottom of the room since you will get hit by a Dead Warrior. Break a floor to find a hidden room below. Activate a portal on the top left and get back to . Pick up the Truffle on the ground and get back to . You will not get fooled by lots of Yokos here now, will you? Kill them, pass through them with the Valkyrie[G] soul and such, or jump over them. Open the door and you will find yourself in again. (Continue to Demon_Guest_House>, )Dead Warriors will just go back and forth so it is easy to take care of them. Mushussu is just a powered up version of Manticore but it could poison you so be careful. Make our way to. Lots of Guillotiners are found here. Go up the shaft and exit to . There is a breakable wall on the left. Go inside the hidden room to find the Durandal. When dropping down to the right of the first pillar, watch out for a Werewolf on the bottom floor.
