Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire - Strategy Guide (Page 02)
Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire - Strategy Guide (Page 02).
Giant Dionaga: The object is to shoot the dark red tentacle with the eye
on the end. After you shoot it a bit, it will jump around. If you shoot
the regular tentacles, they will just regenerate, so you should only
shoot them when they come near you. The easiest way to defeat this boss
is to use the pulse cannon or regular blasters on the eye-tentacle.
Stay in the center of the beast just above the mouth and use the
Z-button to aim around and hit the eye-tentacle. (Make sure you don't
fall into the mouth!) If the eye-tentacle goes up too high for you to
hit it, swim up higher, but stay in the center.
Gladiator Droid:
Part 1 (The whole droid): Use the third person OVERHEAD view. Just stay
behind the droid and shoot him. You can't take damage from touching the
droid so run right up against him and when he turns, just run around
behind him. You should never get hit, so just use the normal blaster
and save your weapons for the next parts.
Part 2 (The upper body): The easiest way to defeat this part is to stay
on the center panel, jump up (or jetpack up) and hit it with a few well
placed disruptor shots (or a bunch of seekers). Jumping at the right
time will avoid some of hit shots (but not all), and be sure to jetpack
out of the way when he fires his seekers at you.
Part 3 (The head): The easiest way to defeat the head is to get down on
the ground DIRECTLY beneath the head, use the Z-button to aim straight
up at it, and blast it with the flamethrower. If you are out of
flamethrower, a few well placed disruptor shots from farther away will
also do the trick. If all else fails, just get beneath it, fire
anything you've got straight up at it, and hope you kill it before it
takes all your lives away. :-) (Even with no weapons, you should be
able to kill it only losing a few lives)
Tips and Tricks:
----------------
View the Ending: Enter "credits" as your player's name.
View the credits: Enter "_Credits" as your player's name, where "_" is a
space, and don't for get the capital "C"!
Debug mode: (all stuff, invincibility, 50 lives, put villains to sleep,
kill dash, teleport, change levels, walk through walls, unlocks all
levels):
1) Enter "_Wampa__Stompa" as your player's name, where "_" is a space.
2) Begin playing on any level of the game, and then pause the game.
3) Hold down ALL of the following: all C Buttons, Z, L, R, and Control
Pad Left (that's the digital cross-pad on the left side of the
Controller).
4) While holding all of those down, push the Analog Control Stick
HALFWAY to the left, and hold it until you hear a "donk" sound
(about five seconds).
5) Repeat, but hold the Control Stick halfway to the right, waiting
until you hear the "donk" sound.
6) Repeat again to the left, again to the right, and again to the left.
7) Pink text should appear at the top of the screen. Use L and R to
change options. Some options require pushing the Control Stick Up
and Down to change. Press A to activate them.
8) To get the cheat menu back, pause the game, then hold down all the
buttons used in Step 3 above and move the Control Stick Left or
Right.
9) Using these options might get you stuck in the game. Weird stuff
WILL happen.
Common Questions:
-----------------
Mission 3 (The Asteroid Field): Q: I keep shooting at the Imperial Star
Destroyer, but it doesn't seem to take any damage. Can it be destroyed?
A: Nope. It's just there for kicks. Sorry :-(
Mission 10 (Skyhook Battle): Q: Can you destroy the Imperial Star
Destroyer on this mission? A: I don't think so. I have heard rumors of
people shooting it with missles and lasers for 55 minutes and getting
it down to 99%, but I really doubt you can destroy it, and even if you
can, who is going to spend that kind of time to find out? Not me! :-)
