That was hard! I was trying to find room for Walt Weiss (who made a diving stop
in a bases loaded jam in the NLCS last year), but I couldn't find room, so I
decided to at least mention his name.

24.) NChipper10's Best Starting Lineups
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I am going to give you two lineups, on with the DH and one without, starting
with the one without.

1.) Roberto Alomar (2B) - CLE
2.) Chipper Jones (3B) - ATL
3.) Ken Griffey, Jr. (CF) - CIN
4.) Alex Rodriguez (SS) - SEA
5.) Mark McGwire (1B) - STL
6.) Mike Piazza (C) - NYM
7.) Sammy Sosa (RF) - CHC
8.) Barry Bonds (LF) - SF
9.) Pedro Martinez (SP) - BOS

Well, the best 2B is Alomar, and he's really fast so I put him leadoff. Chipper
is the best 3B, and he can run okay, and has great power, so I put him 2nd.
A-Rod is definitely the best SS, and he can hit, so I could put him either 3rd
or
clean up. I went ahead and put him Clean-Up, and so Griffey, Jr. would hit 3rd.
He is probably the best hitter in the majors right now and he's only 31. Big
Mac does have lots of homers, but I thought A-Rod could put up better numbers,
so I
put McGwire 5th. Piazza or Sosa? PIAZZA. He has an awesome average, many
homeruns, a ton of RBIs, and he's 31 years of age. He is great, and he's better
than Sosa. Next, of course is Sosa. Walker or Bonds? Bonds. Barry has more
homers, more RBIs, more runs, and more Stolen Bases. Last, is Pedro.

1.) Craig Biggio (2B) - HOU
2.) Chipper Jones (3B) - ATL
3.) Ken Griffey, Jr. (CF) - CIN
4.) Alex Rodriguez (SS) - SEA
5.) Jeff Bagwell (1B) - HOU
6.) Manny Ramirez (RF) - CLE
7.) Ivan Rodriguez (C) - TEX
8.) Larry Walker (LF) - COL
9.) Rafael Palmeiro (DH) - TEX

I'm a NL guy, so I needed some help for this one. Miliman456@aol.com and I
still made a good lineup with the DH, though.
For Biggio, he's awesome, so I had to find room for him. If you are going to be
an AL team, and you'll use the DH a lot, I
recommend you using Biggio for the times when you're w/o the DH, and use Alomar
for the times with the DH. For Jones, check
the lineup w/o the DH to find out why I put him as the 2nd place hitter. Okay,
Griffey usually hits 3rd, so that's where I
put him. A-Rod would be good hitting clean up at an AL park, because he has
lots of experience doing that. Bagwell might be
a worse 1B than McGwire, and even though McGwire had 70 HRs that '98 season, I
had to put Bagwell in there. If you are an AL
team though, and you have the DH most of the time, put McGwire in there and put
Bagwell in a lineup w/o the DH. What's left?
Catcher, Left Field, and Right Field. Well, I had to find a good right fielder
in the AL, so I picked Ramirez. The RBI king
is GREAT. Okay, who's the best AL Catcher? Duh. Pudge had an awesome year last
year. I had to let Walker have a chance, but
I also had to put him 8th. Palmeiro is, of course, the best DH in the game. I
had to put him in because he deserves it. He
was second in the AL in HRs, behind some unknown guy named Ken Griffey, Jr.

Well, I guess that's it. Now the best starting rotation. Decisions,
decisions...

25.) NChipper10's Best Starting Rotation
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

1.) Pedro Martinez
2.) Greg Maddux
3.) Randy Johnson
4.) Roger Clemens
5.) Kevin Millwood

Well, Pedro Martinez is the best, so I had to put him first. Then comes the
hard part: Maddux, Johnson, Clemens, Millwood,
or Brown? Well, I had to put Maddux because of all of the groundball outs and
Ks he gets and because of his awesome ERA and
WHIP. The reason I didn't pick Johnson is because he walks a lot of batters.
The reason I picked Johnson over Clemens is
because both of their weaknesses are that they walk too many hitters, and I
think Johnson has better stuff. Okay, you're
probably wondering why I picked Millwood over Brown. Well, Brown has awesome
stuff, but Millwood held opposing hitters to
a major league-best .202 average with a 2.68 ERA, while Brown had a 3.00 ERA
and allowed 210 hits. Overall, Millwood is
AWESOME. And in ASB 2001, you would like him on your team.

Q: What does FAQ stand for?
A: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does ASB 2001 cost $49.99 everywhere?
A: No.

Q: Do all of the codes and cheats work for ASB 99?
A: No.

Q: I hit a ball in Kauffman Stadium, and it bounced off of the grass onto the
sign, but all my players are human!
A: If it bounces, the cheat doesn't count.

Q: Where can you bring up minor leaguers?
A: Go to General Manager, then go to Roster Moves, and finally go to Farm
System.

If you have any more questions, email me at NChipper10@aol.com. If five of the
same questions come to me, I will put it into my FAQ. If not, I'll deal with it
personally.
