As an elite member of Wolf's Dragoons, you've been contracted to land on planet
Helios ahead of a dragoon regimental strike force. Your job is to disrupt the
word of Blake's orbital guns to let the regimental strike force pass by without
being shot down.

5.)  Mechs
###############################################################################

 In mechassault you pilot giant robots called "mechs". There are 3 different
classifications of mechs: Light, Medium and Heavy. Light mechs prove to be
very maneuverable and fast, but they have weak armor and not many weapons.
Medium battle mechs have decent armor, decent weapons, and decent speed. Heavy
mechs have great armor, strong weapons, and tend to be a tad bit slow. They
make up for their slowness by their supreme firepower and armor.

Atlas

Type: Heavy
Speed: 20 mph

Offensive weapons: 4 Pulse lasers. 4 autocannons, and 2 javelin missiles.
Special: None

Notes: A lot of people like to use the Atlas for its autocannons. The
autocannons can be used to knock enemy mechs down, then when the enemy mech is
on the ground, switch to your pulse lasers and pound it while it's vulnerable.
The atlas is the second slowest mech in the game.

Belial

Offensive weapons: 2 Gauss Rifles, 1 Pulse Laser, and a crossbow missile
Special: Jump Jets

Notes: This mech is a great sniping mech. The Gauss rifles can knock a mech off
its feet and can do some serious damage. The only downside is it has no real
defense. When a PPC comes flying your way, you better hide or else you are in
serious trouble. This mech has little defense and can get stomped easily.

Bowman

Offensive Weapons: 2 pulse lasers, 2 machine guns, 2 war hammer missiles
Special: Target jamming
Notes: Not my favorite mech. You need a lot of skill to use this mech.
The war hammer missiles are the strongest in the game, but they cannot track
so you will have a hard time hitting anything. Stick with the pulse lasers
and machine guns.

Notes: Pretty nice mech, all you have to do is upgrade all of its weapons
to level 3 and it should be a force to be reckoned with!

also VERY fast!

of the campaign. When playing multiplayer, expect to get yelled at a lot
because everyone dislikes Mad cats because they are "Too cheap".

Notes: My favorite mech. When you get the crossbow missiles upgraded to
level 3, you will launch 12 crossbow missiles. The only downside to this
mech is that it has no special.

Notes: My favorite light mech, it is also the fastest mech out yet.
Be careful, however, everyone likes to gang up on the little owens.

a lot before you are finally taken down.

online.

Notes: This mech is the most powerful in the game. It is also the
slowest. The Ragnarok's energy shield blocks all damage except damage
by Other Lava cannons. You must complete campaign to unlock this mech.

most other mechs. Not to mention the Thor's target jamming stop missiles
and PPCs from hitting it.

Timber Wolf

notes: This mech is probably my favorite heavy mech as it has the best variety
of weapons for heavy mechs. The only problem is that it overheats very fast
and it has no special.

missiles because you have Chaff. Javeline missiles are the second strongest
missiles.

7.) Weapons
###############################################################################

There are 4 different types of weapons in mechassault: Energy, ballistic,
missile, and other.  *Note* Other consists of only the Lava cannon, since the
Lava cannon fits no where else.

Energy: Consists of lasers
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
   Pulse laser: This laser is rapidly fired and will be mainly used against
tanks and vehicles. When it is upgraded to level 3, it is extremely powerful.

   Laser: Bigger version of the pulse laser. These are strong, and have a
slower rate of fire. You will use these against enemy mechs and boats.

   PPC: The  secondstrongest weapon in the game. You have to hold down the
right trigger to charge it up. The more you charge, the harder it hits. It
also has homing capabilities.

Ballistic: Consists of bullet weapons
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
    Machine Gun: This gun is the weakest weapon in the game. It has a very fast
rate of fire and can hurt a lot when upgraded to level 3. Use it to kill tank
or buildings.

     Autocannon: This weapon is great. It has a slow rate of fire, but it can
do some serious damage if upgraded to Level 3. It also generates a lot of
heat, so expect your heat meter to go up fast.

    Gauss Rifle: The Gauss Rifle is the strongest ballistic weapon in
mechassault. It has a slow rate of fire, but even if you miss you target,
it will still do some damage. It is very accurate and is a good sniping
weapon. When upgraded to level 3, it will become the third strongest weapon
in the game.

Missile weapons: Consist of explosives
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
    Crossbow missiles: These missiles are the basic missile weapon in the
game. They have really good homing capabilities, but do light damage.
The good side to these missiles is that each time you upgrade them,
2 times as many missiles are fire when you press the "Right trigger" button.

    Hammer missiles: The strongest weapon in the game. When upgraded, these
weapons can take an Atlas out in 3-4 hits. The only problem is that they are
dumbfire missiles. You have to get real close to your enemy to hit them with
these missiles.

    Javelin missiles: The second strongest missile. The only problem is that
they are only long range. When somebody is right next to you, you cannot hit
them with these missiles. These missiles are a pain in the butt when upgraded
to level 3.

Other: Consists of the Lava Cannon
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Lava Cannon: This gun is bad arse! This gun fires 3 concentrated balls of
napalm at the enemy. This gun cannot heat seek, so you will have to use
dumbfire techniques to use it. The only mechs who carry this are the
Ragnarok and Ymir. Watch out, this gun generates probably the most
heat in the game.

8.) Special Weapons
###############################################################################

This section is all about the special weapons in mechassault. They are also
called "defensive" weapons. To use Jump Jets, press the "Left thumb stick" IN.
All the rest of the special weapons are used by pressing the "Right thumb
stick"
in.

    Jump jets: This special allows your mech to fly for a certain amount of
time.
Some mechs can fly longer than others. This is good for getting over obstacles
like water, lava, or rocks blocking your path.

    Null signature: This special will make your mech invisible on screen and
on radar. Be warned, however, that the more heat you generate, the more visible
your mech becomes.

    Target jamming: When this special is used, no enemy mech may lock on to
you.
As you might have already guessed, this is good for dodging missiles and PPCs.


      Chaff: This special is like a miniature version of the target jamming.
It places a flare on the ground which attracts all missiles to it. It lasts a
short amount of time, so use it only when you have to.

9.) Salvage list
###############################################################################
 Salvage is what lets you upgrade your weapons and heal yourself. You get
salvage by killing mechs and destroying some buildings. There are 4 types:
armor, energy, missile, and ballistic.

Armor: This will heal you if you're hurt or damaged and looks like green
pieces of metal on the ground

Energy: This will upgrade your laser type weapons. You can only pick up 2 of
these. They look like blue energy core things.

Missile: The missile salvage will upgrade your current missiles. You can only
pick up 2 of these and it looks like 3 red missiles on the ground.

Ballistic: This will upgrade all of your ballistic weapons. Once again, you
can only pick up 2 upgrades and they look like a yellow crate with bullets in
it.

10.) Walkthrough
###############################################################################
This part of my guide is to help everyone get past the game. Some parts are
a little tough, but that's what makes this game fun!

Going down hard
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Objectives: -Level Salvage base
            -Stop convoy
            -Level infantry base

Mechs: Cougar


Ok this one is easy. Just take your time and get used to the game. First off,
see a helicopter drop off some laser/missile infantry at your feet. Switch to
missiles and shoot the copter down. Now switch to lasers and shoot/step on the
infantry. Keep going forward. Briefing boy tells you to use your jump jets
to hop over the small rock ridge. Do it by pressing the Left thumb stick in.
After that you should keep heading forward. Snipe the salvage base with your
missiles, lasers, and autocannons. Once your done with that objective, you
will get a message from the commander that there is a convoy nearby and it is
going somewhere. Time to find out where and stop it!. Head to the left of the
base and keep going forward. You should reach a road/highway. Wait for the
convoy to come by. This convoy is being escorted by missile tanks! Take out
the missile tanks with your lasers and missiles, then shoot the convoy
truck. Keep following the road. You will come to another salvage base.
The only difference to this base is it is being guarded by missile turrets!
take them out far away with your missiles, then quickly look to the left of
the base. You will see another base guarded by more missile turrets. Take out
the turrets and then enter the base. When you enter the base, you are ambushed
by hybrid power armors. They look a lot like elementals and are fairly easy
to take out. A few missiles should take all 4 out. After you are done with
them,
enter the base and wreak havoc to the Infantry Headquarters. You just beat the
mission.

Suffer the silence
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Objectives: -Destroy communication tower
            -destroy defending forces

Mechs: Cougar
       Puma

A little bit harder than your last mission, but not by much. Just head forward,
you should find two tanks blocking your path. Dispose of them however you like
and move on. As you move forward you will encounter some infantry. Just use
you machine guns (if you have the puma) and move on. You will eventually reach
a pretty heavily guarded bridge. Destroy the tanks/infantry with your weapons.
Cross the bridge and enter the base. To your left will be a tunnel. Destroy it
to stop making tanks/trucks come out. Finish killing off infantry and missile
tanks. Now head forward ahead of the base. Watch out as there are some red
laser
turrets, infantry, and even more hybrid power armors. Take out the turrets
first, then the power armors. Use your PPC to take the power armors out. Keep
going forward, killing any missile tanks, infantry, and red laser turrets as
you can. You will eventually run into the front of a base with 2 entrances and
6 red laser turret. Quickly destroy the turrets. Now as the gates open, missile
tanks poor out of the base. Dispose of as many as you can, because an Owens
light mech follows the tank convoy. Kill off the remaining tanks, and then
focus on the Owens. It cannot deal much damage, so use your PPC, machine guns,
and lasers to take it out. If you need life, there is a dock to your right. On
that dock is an armor power up. If you have additional problems, just e-mail me
and I can give you a more detailed battle. Once you are done with the Owens,
jump into the base and start pounding buildings. In the back of the base, there
is the communication tower. Destroy it and go home to the Iccarus.

Friends Indeed
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
   Objectives: -Stop Word of Blake forces from destroying the town
               -Stop word of Blake forces from destroying the city and the
rebels

   Mechs: Cougar
          Puma

Ok this is where it gets to be tough. At the beginning, head forward and you
will get a message that some  laser helicopters are harassing a group of
civilians trying to escape. Take them out with your missiles. Keep heading
forward until you reach the town. You find out a Uller light mech is trying to
destroy the town. Fire your PPCs, missiles, and lasers at it until it starts to
run away. Follow it, but make sure you
destroy it before you reach the base (it will island hop to a salvage base).
Once you reach the base, you fight an autocannon boat, and some power armors.
Dispose of the little devils, then look on your radar to see where you should
go next (look for a yellow arrow on the radar). Once you reach the base, you
will be assaulted by some mechs (2 owens and an Uller). This is tough. Notice
some trucks on the ground? Shoot them and you should get 2 armor power ups.
Charge a PPC and launch it at an Owens or Uller. Focus on that Owens or Uller
until it is destroyed, then pick up its armor before you are about to die. Do
the same to the other 2 mechs and you should have no problem. Eliminate the
rest of the forces in the city and it's mission complete! *Note: Don't worry
about the cutscene where the rebel HQ is destroyed; it is all a part of the
story*

Dry me out
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Objectives: -Destroy tank plant
            -Destroy airbase/bombers
            -Destroy special weapons plant

     Mechs: Cougar
            Puma
            Uziel

Start this mission out by picking the Uziel. It has 2 PPCs and can take a mech
out in a few seconds. You start the level by being ambushed by a group of
tanks.
Take them out with your missiles and move into the city. Watch on the ledges as
there are missile turrets waiting to shoot you. Snipe them with lasers or PPCs
and move forward. In the back of the city is the tank plant. Take this out with
your  PPCs and look to your right to see a red laser turret which has probably
been  shooting at you. Take it out. Destroy the buildings in the tank depot
area for some armor salvage and other weapons salvage. Now head down the hill
to the right of the tank depot. You should reach an air base. Briefing boy will
notify you that there is a squadron of helicopters headed your way. He will
also tell you that you need to destroy all of the bombers on the air field.
Take out the laser helicopters with missiles and then destroy the bombers
scattered around the air base. Some bombers are out in the open while others
are inside hangars. You will also see a giant plane on a run way. Charge up
some PPCs and fire at it to destroy it. Keep  heading forward until you trigger
a tough fight with a Uziel. No matter what, use your PPCs on it. Once you kill
it, feel free to wreak havoc on the WOB base. Now follow the yellow arrow on
your radar until you find the last building you need to destroy. Once you
destroy it, two Ullers come out to fight. Concentrate all your PPCs on one mech
at a time. If you can take out one mech, you can grab his salvage and you can
face the other. Now concentrate more PPCs at the second Uller. You should win.
if you're lucky, the first Uller's explosion will cause the second Uller to
die. Once you beat them, the mission is over.

Sailing away

Objectives: -Destroy barges carrying parts for the orbital guns
            -Destroy the escort boats

Mechs: Cougar
       Puma
       Uziel
       Belial

Start out by choosing the belial. One shot from it's gauss rifle can destroy a
barge or escort boat. Now once the mission starts, follow the river to find
your first boat. Destroy it and move on. You must keep following the river, and
picking off boats as you go. When you get to a base, cut through the base so it
takes less time to get to the boats. Also it is a good idea to run from the
mech battles as you need time to kill the boats. This mission was pretty hard,
so if you're having a problem, just e-mail me and I will try and give you a
better strategy.

Catnap Part 1

Objectives: -Defend the Icarus from WOB forces.
            -Destroy the convoy escorting the Mad Cat

Mechs: Cougar
       Puma
       Uziel
       Belial

Choose the Uziel as your mech for this mission. First thing that happens is
a group of enemy tanks come by trying to destroy the Icarus. You will
eventually
fight a light scout mech. Take him out with your PPCs and you will be informed
that the Icarus is out of danger. Now time to capture the Mad Cat. Look on your
radar and follow the yellow arrow to find a city. If you go into the city, find
the convoy and level it. I think there is one mech that you have to kill, but
I'm not sure. Kill everything EXCEPT the Mad Cat. You will fail if you kill
everything. Lt. Foster will come and pilot the mech out of there. Stay in the
city and kill any mech that comes your way. Now you get a message from the
Commander telling you to level a WOB tank base at the north end of the city.
Follow your yellow arrow to the top of the city and find the base. Destroy the
tank depot first, as it will keep producing tanks to come harass you. Now level
the base and it's mission over.
