Hmm, I don't like this wrestler. Not at all. Sure, he has some funny moves at
his disposal like The Insult and Bionic Elbow, but that doesn't directly make
him a good wrestler. With this guy, you'll have to get the crowd behind you. If
you succeed, that will result in an enormous boost in other stats and will win
you the match. If you fail, which is more likely because his other low stats
make it hard to get the crowd cheering him on, it can get very hard. And don't
forget to cheat a lot: that's what the Captain is for.

FINISHER: Seated Front Suplex
          It's a brainbuster kind of move, so you will need to get into the
          Vertical Suplex ISP before doing this. Grapple your opponent normally
          with B, next press X, and finally move the Right Thumbstick to
          execute the Seated Front Suplex.

The same story as Lou Albano. Nice looking moves, but no wrestling ability! The
difference with the Captain is that this guy has to rely on his speed to get
some cheap hits in, and do some aprons and turnbuckles. I find it strange that
he has a good ability for Ground Fighting, but there aren't a lot of those
moves in his repertoire. Same strategy as the bad guy: get the crowd behind
you and cheat your opponents to death...

FINISHER: Hartliner
          This is a normal ready move, so just move towards your opponent and
          move the Right Thumbstick in front of him. It's the Reverse Leg
          Sweep.

   \ IX. Create A Legend \
    o---------------------o

This is a section wherein I will describe the basics of the CAL (Create A
Legend) option. It's not very long, nor detailed, so if you're looking for a
guide dedicated to only this feature of the game, I suggest moving on and
find some others on the web. I'm sure there are a few around.

 1. What are CALs?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

CALs are wrestlers you create yourself. You can change just about everything
until it matches your personal taste. Ever tried to create a King Kong Bundy
like figure with the ability to do a Superfly Leap on your poor opponent? With
this option, you can.

Your XBox hard drive can only save up to 15 CALs. After that, you'll have to
buy a memory card... Darn commercial thinking people. Anyway, to go to the
CAL screen, just select "Create" from the main menu. You will then get several
options to choose from:

  Male    => Start a new male wrestler
  Female  => Start a new female wrestler
  Legend  => Edit one of the game's original wrestlers
  Edit    => Edit a previously saved wrestler

 2. Creating Your Legend
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Once you've chosen one, a screen is viewed with a wrestler in the middle of
it. You can rotate him by pressing LEFT or RIGHT on the D-Pad. In the left
part of the screen, you see numerous options to edit your wrestler. These
are them all:

  Appearance
  -----------
  Change the appearance of your wrestler. Would you like him to be clad in
  gothic-like black leather, or you just want a sumo wrestler with nothing
  more than a band? Your choice. You can also edit the size of every body
  part. Body Type, Head, Upper Body, Lower Body, and Entrance Gear are all
  edited separately.

  To access other options for a certain body part, press the Left or the
  Right Trigger. You can now see options to place tattoos and logos or
  modify the bodypart's size and hair. Notice that you can move tattoos
  and logos around your wrestlers body with the Right Thumbstick. This
  goes very slow, however.

  Entrance Gear is optional. Those are the things your wrestler wears
  when he walks toward the ring. He won't wear things like glasses or
  warm-up suits while fighting.

  Profile
  --------
  Here you can choose your new wrestler's name(s), entrance music,
  manager and crowd reaction. In the names screen, you can select a
  front and a surname, a nickname, and the name that is viewed above your
  health bar while wrestling (short name). You can also make a hometown
  or choose one from the list by pressing X. This can also be done with
  most other names. Finally, select a good name for your finisher.

  The entrance music can be chosen from the game's playlist or one of
  your own. Choosing managers for your wrestler is optional, but helpful
  when you cheat a lot. The crowd reaction decides if your wrestler is
  LOVED or HATED, thus deciding which manager you get during career
  mode.

  Move Set
  ---------
  In this screen, you can edit all of your wrestlers move. And heck, there
  are a lot of them. To see a full list of moves and their combo abilities,
  check the next section (X). First of all, you'll have to choose from a
  new list, to edit a list, or to copy a legend's list. Usually, you will
  choose a new list when first creating a new legend.

  Once you've chosen New, you get the opportunity to decide the fighting
  style of your wrestler. You can choose four different styles:

    High Flyer ==> Has little grappling moves, but is a master at turnbuckles
                   and aprons. Needs a High Risk ability.

    Scientific ==> Has normal grappling moves, but is especially good at
                   executing joint-breaking submissions. Definitely has to
                   have a Technical ability.

    Grappler   ==> Has very little to no flying attacks, but does massive
                   damage through a lot of his grapples. Has to have a good
                   Grappling ability, and maybe Brawling for close-combat.

    All-Around ==> Has everything normal. Not good at anything, but not bad
                   either. Can have any ability you wish.

  After that, it's editing time. There are so many categories I won't list
  them all. I'll direct you to the "Move & Combo List" for that again. You can
  assign a finisher to your new wrestler by highlighting the desired move (it
  could be anything) and pressing the X button.

  Attributes
  -----------
  Adjust the different attributes of your character in this part of the CAL
  screen. The next info was taken from the Legends of Wrestling Manual:

    STRENGTH   => Increases the amount of damage you can do against opponents.
    RECOVERY   => Decreases the amount of time you need for recovering from
                  the opponent's blows.
    MAT SKILLS => Increases your combo and reversal efficiency. Makes the
                  green area in the combo bar larger.
    TOUGHNESS  => Decreases the amount of damage your opponents can inflict
                  on you.
    SPEED      => Increases the actual speed of your moves.
    CHARISMA   => Enhances the crowd's reaction on your matches: if you have
                  the crowd behind you, you'll receive a small bonus in every
                  other attribute than charisma.

  Abilities
  ----------
  Choosing the right abilities for your wrestler is important to keep your
  legend in the race for the championship. Moves you have ability for do some
  extra damage. There are three levels of ability: the highest level also has
  the highest damage bonus. You'll need to adjust your abilities to your
  wrestler's fighting style. A High Flyer, for example, needs a lot of High
  Risk ability to make his moves worth the while. The abilities are:

    BRAWLING        => Striking moves damage increase.
    TECHNICAL       => Submission moves damage increase.
    HIGH RISK       => Aprons and turnbuckles damage increase.
    GROUND FIGHTING => Ground moves (not submissions) damage increase.
    PINNING         => Easier to pin opponents or to escape from a pin.
    CORNER          => All corner moves (inc. Tree of Woe) damage increase.
    GRAPPLING       => Grappling moves damage increase.
    HARDCORE        => Weapon moves damage increase.
    CHEATING        => Increases the amount of cheating for you/your partner.
    CHARGING        => Running moves damage increase.

  Make sure to choose the ones that suit your wrestler best.

  -----
  Increase or decrease the length and weight of your wrestler. Doesn't have
  any kind of impact on gameplay, only on his appearance.

  Used to save, load or delete a wrestler.

Careers with CALs
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Playing a career with a custom wrestler is a little different from a normal
career. When doing it with a CAL, you will have a disadvantage in the early
stages of the game, because the wrestlers you face are far more powerful
than you. However, in the late game, you get the advantage over them. You
see, CALs have the ability to actually use their newly received attribute
and ability points in the CAL screen. So if you keep it up, you can have
an immensely strong wrestler in the end!
