Haunted Mansion, The - Strategy Guide (Page 03)

Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Haunted Mansion, The - Strategy Guide (Page 03).

Get ^1^BT and (1)FC next to the silver armor.

Continue move on with the shields or make your own faster way to the left side/
candle 2 - the shields will then automatically placed in front of your position-

See picture below!

Place yourself next to the first candle stick, then jump, letting the fireball
turn on the candle 1 -Zeke 1-.
After, go behind the shields, ultra shot one shield skeleton in front of you.
(actually, four times fireballs will take over your job :),
Charge shots the shield skeleton on the right.
Let the fireball light the second candle stick -Zeke 2-.
Finish the right skeleton using charge shots (or let the fireball do for you).

Now, the choice is yours, whether you need the shields to protect you or not.
If not, go jump to your right and light up the two candles on the right.
If you need protection, then use your shields to move step by step to the
right -Zeke 3-. I suggest you to use the shields protection since it is very
easy to do so.
After, go to candle stick 4, jump left or right, let the fireball turn on
the candle. See map below!

After, the fireballs will disappear. The room is peaceful once more.

When you walk up to the exit door, one Silver Armor will run after you.
Use charge/ultra shots since rapid fire won't work.
Get (1)FC in front of the second candle stick. Another ^1^BT in front of the
third candle stick. Get (1)FC right side of the fireplace above the vase.
Another (1)FC opposite right of the first vase in the main hall.

Ghosts hunting: -25-
1. First vase in the left main hall. -5- one shield skeleton shows up.
2. Second vase in the left main hall. -10-, <1>Opera Singer' DC,
   Four big spiders. Let those spiders web you, then charge shots them
   one by one or use ultra shot then charge shots.
3. The Tiger head on the wall, left side of the fireplace. -5-.
   Two shield skeletons and one lost soul. Finish the enemies first.
4. A broken furniture below the candle stick no. 4. -5-.

Go Straight, finish one lost soul and turn to right alley, knock on the door.
Before, finish one big spider and one shield skeleton.

Inside, finish some ghosts and a couple of shield skeleton. Use ultra shots
to clear some ghosts and damage the skeleton, the rest is easy.
(1)FC on your left, floating above the chair. ^1^BT on the right corner.

Next to the door is a time capsule (old steel box) contains blocks (memories)
of a kid's toy. Activate it.

All you have to do is 'still the same' finding the light switch and activate it
in order to get back into the real mansion.
(1)FC is on your left on top of the yellow 'Lego'. You don't have to roll, jump
to it. Jump to the blue one on the opposite and follow the platform to get(1)FC
You may have seen the floating platforms on the other side.
That's where we are going to. Now, get across the platform to your left,
across the rolling platform and get (10)FCs.

Get attention on the pile of 'Lego' in front of you. You need to crash it down.
Get down use the red 'Lego' to get to the blue platform and touch the pile
causing it to crash all around the floor. Get (1)FC.
Go across the blue platform to get to the opposite area. Get down to the green
platform that moves in a circle to get (1)FC.

Get to the turquoise block wait for the other blue moving platform. Jump from
one platform to another ones and finally to the red platform.
Turn on the switch

You are back to the previous room.
Ghosts hunting: -15-
1. The piano on the left corner -5-. One shield skeleton.
2. The high cupboard on the right from the entrance -5- two big spiders.
3. The sofa next to the high cupboard. -5-. <1> Opera Singer' DC

Now you can talk to the room maid ghost.

position). Open the door to the study room.
The switch is on top of bookshelves out of reach. What to do?

The Beacon has turned up in the new world. Remnants of the brotherhood have
acquired an estate on the outskirts of the fever-wrecked bayous of Louisiana
and have hidden it within. However my scouts have sensed a powerful aura
within a mansion that I will have to overcome. Though I cannot be sure,
there is something familiar with this aura.

There is one leaning portrait on the right side. Activate it. A hidden room
to your left has been opened. Go inside and step on the round carpet.
One lost soul.

As a result, three more round carpet show up in the room.
Carpet 1 is in front of the fireplace.
Carpet 2 is in front of the bookstand.
Carpet 3 is in front of the hidden room.
Carpet 4 is on the right side of the hidden room.
And all the furniture’s are now in random position.

Step on the carpet 3, jump on the bookcase, follow the path to get (1)FC.
Step on the carpet 2, it's moving. jump to the lower bookcase then jump
onto a moving one to your right. You can jump to the top of the fireplace
to get ^1^BT.
Get back to the same bookcase, retrace to its original position,
jump through to the left. You need to jump 3 times to get (1)FC.
The other way is to step on carpet 4 to get the FC.

Step on the carpet 1, quickly to carpet 2, follow the path to the fireplace,
go to where the BT is, jump to the bookcase in front,
continue jumping through to activate the switch.

Ghosts hunting: -20-
1. Bookcase to the left from entrance. -5-. One lost soul.
2. Bookcase to the left of the bookstand. -5-
3. Working desk on the upper right corner. -5-. One balrog.
   Remember you need to ultra shots the balrog in order to hit the trolls.
4. Shelve on the right side from the entrance. -5-. One lost soul.

One gentleman ghost near the bookstand is falling in love.

Out from Study, go to your left, and pass one left turn, one big spider and one
lost soul (One lost soul at the end of the alley). Turn left at the second one
One big spider and two lost souls.

Open the door. Once inside you see windows everywhere and there are number of
mirrors. There is one lamp at the upper area and a (magical) crank next to it.
Also ^1^BT opposite to the lamp.

On your way to the upper right corner of the room, with the crank tailing on
your shadow.

One balrog on the higher floor at the right corner from the entrance.
When you step on it there is ^1^BT on the corner and one shield skeleton will
show up. Some ghosts will show up at the upper right corner.
And there is ^1^BT there. Retrace back to the entrance.
Two Silver Armors will then come after you.
Be very careful as they will swing a deadly axe on you.
Use ultra and/or charge shots. Don't wanna to be cornered either.

Now that the room is cleaned up you need to finish your job.
Adjust the angle of the mirrors so that the light will touch the lamp opposite
the entrance. Go back to the upper right corner, to the source of the SUNlight.

Line your SUNlight to the numbered mirrors and finally touch the lamp.
M1 to M2, one shield skeleton will show up.
M2 to M7, no enemies, then adjust the light to reach the lamp.

Here comes a new challenger!
Atticus Thorn with his new toy.
Hide yourself behind the pillar in between M9 and M10.
From there it is easy to implement whatever strategy you are up to.

Get back to the first alley you came in to the Upstairs Hallway.
You can see the Museum door next to the entrance
(the same alley where the grandfather clock is).
There are more silver armors in the alley now. Quickly get inside the door.
Inside, always charge your Beacon. They got NO mercy in here.
Go to the left until you see the Tome of Shadows Book Volume V.

It is the fortune-teller who has been thwarting my minions at the mansion.
How ironic that she now stands between me and my acquisition of the Beacon.
She may be able to handle the lesser evil spirits, but she will not fare
so well when I unleash the others. With the chaos of the war and the city in
flames I'm afraid the secluded estate is no place for a lady...to be alone.

Opposite the bookstand there is a big pillar.
There are two pillars in the room. Left and right pillar.
^1^BT at the West of first pillar, ^2^BT at the North of it.
^1^BT at the East of second pillar, ^2^BT at the North of it.
Another ^1^BT at the center of the room, in between the two pillars.

The silver armors around those pillars will come after you, two from the first
pillar and two from the second pillar. Do you want to fight four of them at
the same time? Ultra shot and a lot of charge shots will help
Try to concentrate on one particular area; circling that pillar for example.
Otherwise you will certainly let the balrog awake and put a lot of nothing
but misery. When fighting the balrog always remember to use ultra shots
(combine with charge shots) because ultra shots will explode thus destroying
the trolls chasing at you in a speedy. Some ghosts will be alert when you
approach the five silver armors on the upper right area. Clear!

EHM, why don't we pass-through some annoying uninvited guests by going directly
to the puzzle?

But one thing to do before sneaking and pass-through is to get all the FCs
inside a hidden room.

Good choice, now it is time for some relaxing puzzles.
Five 6 x 12 square chess platform for you to be cleared in accordance to
the number of silver armors in the cut scene. Once you beat the puzzles one by
one, the silver armors will drop to nowhere land one by one.

Hint:

-Don't you dare see their face like that. They got a very bad temper.
 They will come after you and slap you away from the ground you stand.
-When you are stepping on the North or South edge of the board you won't get hit
 by the armor. If you fall, your Bravery will be reduced.

Hint for no. 2:
-Once B2 is facing South (means facing to the start point), you should be
 at B4. Now each time the armor revolves one time you move one block forward
 until you reach F4.
-When you are at F2, watch the pattern of D2 and B2. Once D2 and B2 facing
 North (to the finish point), they will need 4 time revolves to get back to
 the North position again thus giving you approx. 6 seconds free to reach J3.
 But wait until D2 is facing West/left then get going to J3.
-Don't get caught by the moving armors. Once you reach J5,watch the pattern of
 C6 and E6 and proceed with the previous strategy (approx. 6 seconds).
 Use lock view to see C6.
 Get (10)FCs at L6 then continue to finish point.
 Otherwise you can go to L4, wait for opportunity then get the FC.

The second armor crumbles down the floor.

Hint for no.4:
-B5, wait for C3 to face other direction, go to C5, wait for G6 to face
 other direction, go to F5.
 Alternatively:
 Once started, immediately jump to B6, go through until you reach F5, then
 proceed as normal.
-F5, wait for G6 to face South/down, go to J5. Wait H4 to face other direction
 before you get (1)FC at F4.
-J5, wait for H4 to face West/left, go one block each time the armor revolves.
 When you reach J2, quickly go to L1. It is better to lock your view to
 South/start point in order to get perfect timing.
-L1, wait for K2 to face West/left (means facing to K1), go to L2 and
 jump to finish point.

Hint for no.5:
-Most important is to watch carefully the pattern of L3 armor.
 When he is facing to North/up (showing his back on you), step on A3.
 Now you must synchronize your moves, just like on the dancing floor.
 When it moves one time you step one time further, but in between you must
 wait for two moves from the armor in order to catch up with the rhythm.
-A3, wait for one time armor move, go to A4, wait for TWO moves!,
 go directly to C4 (B6 will not interfere with you), wait one time, go to C3,
 wait two times, go back to C4.
-C4, wait, go directly to E4, wait, go to E3, wait for two, go back to E4.
-E4, wait, go directly to G4, wait, go to G3, wait for two, go back to G4.
-G4, wait, go directly to I4, wait, go to I3, wait for two, go back to I4.
-I4, wait, go directly to K4, K5, and directly to finish point!

Alternatively (faster time):
-When L4 and B6 is facing to the right, quickly jump to C4, continue to E4.
-L3 is turning to East/right, quickly step on E3, continue to F3. Wait,
 H1 armor is turning to West/left, continue to K5 (on the way grab (1)FC
 at H4 and (1)FC at L5), then to finish point :).

-Sometimes the rotation of the armor will be a bit random of timing.
 No problemo just stick to the plan a or plan b as describe above
 and you will be all right.
-And sometimes try to retrace your step one block backtrack in order to
 stabilize the rhythm. It works, believe me! Especially at A4 back to A3,
 then go to A4 again. That will ensure your way to further blocks.

The third/center armor is crumbled down the floor.

Turn on the switch.

Ghosts hunting: -20-
Try to get to the first pillar by passing through the entrance area
as it maybe safer to do so.
1. First pillar opposite the bookstand, armor on the West side -5-.
   One balrog show up on the other side before you reach the armor.
   When you activate it, another balrog show up from the entrance area.
2. Second pillar on the right, armor on the East side. -5-.
   One balrog from the center of the room.
3. Vase, right side of the entrance door, to the right of it when you enter.
   -10-. <1>Old Lady' DC.

Total lives: 30Lives, (3)FCs.

Go inside the Childrens Room opposite the Toy Room (make sense, isn't it)
One big spider and silver armor in front and behind you.
Well, it means a dark 'hospitalized children’s' room.
Nothing to do in here at the moment.

Welcoming party: some ghosts, one shield skeleton. After, another one shield
skeleton, some ghosts. So, prepare your ultra shots once you enter the door.
Once you approach the other door at the end, one shield skeleton and one
lost soul. ^1^BT at the second window on the right side before the next door.

Here is what we are going to play, we play cat and mouse.

(Actually the blue ripper had already shown himself since you completed the
Great Hall -stage one-, remember?)

Open the door in front, inside the small room, closed the door behind you.
Let's begin! (Madame Leota is giving you clues for every intersection).
If you are slashed you are sent outside the door.
-Run straight,^1^BT at the end, then turn left. Continue running, jump over
 the hole, next turn right zeke, watch out for another hole, turn left,
 watch out for the hole, another hole, left, immediate hole, turn right,
 immediate left, hole, turn right. ^1^BT at the end. "ups sorry wrong turn".

Go straight then turn right,(1)FC. The next door is to the previous room.
Once opened, the road behind you is closed by the wall.
Hey man, I have unfinished business with you.
Use charge and ultra shots to finish up the blue ripper.

Light please.

Pass Study Room, then turn left. Beware of silver armors.

Once inside you notice the light switch behind you. But where is the handle?
Don't worry we are gonna save the handle. First thing first.
As always, tidy up the messy room.

To your left area, explore a bit, two shield skeletons show up.
Two more shield skeletons in the right side area.
Continue to left area/fireplace, ghosts coming out of the broken fireplace.
Lock on and shoot (you may want to lock and retrace to the previous sitting
place). Finish all of them. Just opposite of the entrance there is (1)FC.
To the upper right corner, ^1^BT. Get close to the BT, spiders are dropping.
Clear the place up with rapid.

Go back to the first fireplace. Get near to the 'handle'. It moves. Follow
the handle until It will flow away to open area. It is like a two way magnet.
Here is the trick, drive the handle to flow away to the center area
(second fireplace). It may need to travel around the room, to the right side.
And you may also encounter one lost soul.
Once it is positioned inline with the entrance alley, stand inline behind
the handle. Move toward the entrance, and the handle will obey you.
Fireplace is on.

The same alley as the grandfather clock. Go save and enter the door.
Approach center area with careful, a bunch of ghosts as usual.

First floor, right corner, (1)FC, upper right corner, ^1^BT under the balcony.
Go up the stairs on the left, ^1^BT plus some spiders.
You can’t reach the switch. Not now.
There are magic carpets here, remember Study Room.
Carpet 1, upper left corner.
Carpet 2, center area.
Carpet 3, right corner.

Remember, if you stand still on the carpet, the changes keep on repeating.
You can always get out of the room and come back if your are confuse.
If you are experimenting with the carpet, some enemies might show up.
-Step on carpet 1,get up the stairs on the upper left, at the end jump straight
 down to get (1)FC.
-Step on carpet 2, fireplace appear on the left side, switch appear at the end
 of upper left stairs. Turn it on. There will be a specific tune if you place
 the stairs or the switch on the right spot.
 After that the magical carpet is no more useful.
 Oh no, not this man again, Atticus Thorn. Well he has not changed.
 Still easy to beat. Get down the first few steps of the stairs so you can
 view the right corner area exactly where the carpet 3 is located
 (facing the entrance). Lock you ultra shot. You can Ultra shot him twice.
 First, before he appears, jump up and ultra shot him.
 Second, quickly charge again and when he is ready to shoot, avoid/jump
 and release your ultra shot. Keep repeating.
-If you step on carpet 3 before carpet 2, the entrance door will move.
 I don't think there is something to show up. And after you finish Atticus,
 the door will be back to its original place.

Ghosts hunting: -10-
1. Big red sofa in front of the fireplace. -4- ^1^BT next to carpet 1.
2. Red chair opposite of the big sofa. -3-. One big spider.
3. Red chair opposite of the previous red chair. -3- Two lost souls.
