Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2 - Strategy Guide (Page 06)

Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2 - Strategy Guide (Page 06).

Heavy Notes: Lots and lots of sixteenths clusters are what makes this song
 what it is. Near the end, they'll start throwing the clusters together.
 Those complicated-looking runs are actually sets of three sixteenths, so
 don't panic when they show up.

Lyrics:

Your eyes make me free
Tenshi no sei mitsumete
Your eyes make me free
Me o tojikashita

Kidzuite yo fukai yami no naka de
Hate shinai towa no yumemisete yo
Kidzuite yo fukai yami no naka de
Hate shinai towa no yumemisete yo

In my eyes...

In my eyes...

In my eyes...

In my eyes...

---

First Appearance: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: You can go down to "In My Eyes" to find that this song is
 originally by Akira Yamaoka. Midihead is the (shy, I guess) founder of the
 project: Monolithic.
Misc. Notes: The original In My Eyes is in Song Pack #1.

=================================
6F. MAKE A JAM! (Dub/House Mix) =
=================================

UNLOCK: Pass MAKE A JAM! on Light, Standard, and Heavy

Artist: Big Idea
Genre: Dub/House*
BPM: 124

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3   3
STD: 5   6
HVY: 8   7

Heavy Notes: This song is mostly streams, with some double steps thrown in
 for flavor. Watch for a little bit of chaos, such as where the weird-
 sounding brass comes in.

---

Lyrics:

Dreamin', dreamin'
Dreamin', dreamin'
Alright?

(dance hall king, dance hall king)

(dance hall king, dance hall king)

Every size and ship on stamina
To make it all look cool and bubbly wine
Rational ma boy

Make the bumping
Make the bumping
Make the bump...(etc.)

Make the bumping, quit the whining
Make the moving with the dance hall king

Don't gimme chop
Don't gimme rap
Give me the sound with lyric gonna shout

Yo! Churipibo, ripibing, churipiboskin!
Mino sidosido mino sidosido!

Now, I'm telling you this, mayors!
I don't rap, bonjobi, I want some!

Make the bumping, quit the whining
Make the moving with the dance hall king

(dance hall king, dance hall king)

Make the bumping, quit the whining
Make the moving with the dance hall king

Wangdang a bodirobidubbadai
Now you see me cause you wanna friend my boy!

Make the bumping, quit the whining
Make the moving with the dance hall king

A little that, you give me that because you OY!

(dance hall king, dance hall king, dance hall king)

================================
6G. MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix) =
================================

UNLOCK: Score a AAA OR pass MAXX UNLIMITED on Heavy

Artist: Jondi & Spesh
Genre: Hardcore Techno/Trance*
BPM: 140-320

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 6   6
STD: 8   9
HVY:10  10

Play Notes: The song carries on at a MAX's normal 300 for a bit of the first
 part. After the trancey sounds, it cuts up to 320, then drops for a couple
 of measure to 140, then resumes the 300, and closes out at 320.

Heavy Notes: Some say this is harder than MAXX UNLIMITED and beyond. I'd
 say it's comparable. If you've played both MAX 300 and MAXX UNLIMITED, the
 steps should be familiar, since it's kind of a split between the two. Be
 very careful about losing your stamina in the opener, because there are a lot
 of doubles in the beginning, which can drain you easily. And of course, I'd
 be lynched if I neglected to mention the end, which is a bunch of short to
 long to giant streams. Fortunately, most of these streams alternate feet,
 which is markedly easier than stepping around the pad.

---

First Appearance: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: Jondi & Spesh are part of the group Loöq Records. Naturally,
 this tune was made specifically for this mix.
Misc. Notes: To be perfectly honest, this song seems to take more from MAXX
 UNLIMITED than it does from MAX 300...

======================
6H. Midnight Special =
======================

UNLOCK: Play 20 Songs

Artist: Love Machineguns
Genre: Ska*
BPM: 182

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   6
STD: 5   7
HVY: 7   8

Heavy Notes: Only a little bit of chaos, but a ton of streams, and at a fast
 pace. The end guitar riff is one big stream to wear you down to the finish.

---

Lyrics:

In the barrio you gotta learn how to survive
Cause you never know when it’s your turn to take a dive

So you go through each day
With your eyes in the back of your head
You never know if you’ll be alive or be dead

That is why always have it
You carry a midnight special
Never leave home without it
Always better with a midnight special

In the dark on the street
Never know who you’re gonna meet
No problem you got a midnight special

---

First Appearance: Guitar Freaks 3rd Mix
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: Love Machineguns is Toshio Sakurai, Hideyuki Ono, and Yuei
 Uematsu, all of whom are heavily involved in the Guitar Freaks and drummania
 series. The song is sung by Thomas Howard Lichtenstein.

=============
6I. TOE JAM =
=============

UNLOCK: Pass Baile Le Samba, La Cucaracha, and Monkey Punk on Heavy

Artist: Big Idea
Genre: Country Techno*
BPM: 112-160

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   5
STD: 6   6
HVY: 9   9

Play Notes: The song starts at 112, then picks up a little bit once the beat
 starts going, then goes up to 160 once the percussion really kicks in.

Heavy Notes: When it's slow, you'll step the banjo, mostly, with its chaotic
 playing. As the song speeds up, you'll play more and more normal streams,
 but there's still a bit of chaos to be had between the banjo and fiddle.

---

First Appearance: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See Baile Le Samba for info on Big Idea. This particular song
 was written by Ryan Shupe, Craig Miner, and Chuck Myers.

==============
6J. ZERO-ONE =
==============

UNLOCK: Score a AA

Artist: Mr.T
Genre: Electroshock*
BPM: 160

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   3
STD: 6   6
HVY: 9   9

Heavy Notes: Like most of the Mr.T songs on this mix, you'll once again be
 stepping most of the melody. The steps will break off to match the
 percussion at certain points, which may include sixteenths.

---

First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 7th Style
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See fly through the night.

7A. SP1 - Abyss =
=================

Artist: dj TAKA
Genre: Intelligence*
BPM: 142

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 2   3
STD: 5   5
HVY: 7   7

Play Notes: About halfway through this song is a stop that lasts two measures.

Heavy Notes: There are plenty of long streams in this song, and there are
 also lots of gallops, although the gallops are pretty standalone. Make sure
 you're watching to see what's a gallop and what's a straight eighth.  There's
 only one spot that requires turning, and that's a medium-length stream near
 the end.

First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 5th Style
DDR Debut: DDR 5th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDRMAX USA
Artist Notes: See "A"

=============================
7B. SP1 - BURNIN' THE FLOOR =
=============================

Artist: NAOKI
Genre: Euro Groove*
BPM: 155

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   4
STD: 6   6
HVY: 7   8

Heavy Notes: The streams don't get very long, and there's no turning
 involved. Probably the only tricky part is the bridge, where the steps
 follow the synthesizer hits.

---

Lyrics:

(Look out on the dancefloor)
(It's waiting for you)
It's time to burn

Burn, burn, burn's the fix
And tell me, do you really wanna roll with this
The heat is on, it's time to move
So where you know just what to do
The temperatures rising, no way out
Going too far, can't stop now
So let me know if you feel it, too
When the fire gets inside of you

Where have, you been all of my life
I've been, looking for you
I wanna dance through, dark into the daylight with you
I wanna burn!
Burn, burn burn, the world right
The rhythm's hard to ignore
Set up a big fire
I just don't care anymore!

Let's make it special, on a dance floor
I can read the signs, but I can't use the lore
Let's get it up, 'cause now's the time
I really wanna make you mine tonight
Let's put in the fight
You and me, on a fantasy
And if you really wanna learn, I'm gonna show you how to burn

Burn, burn, burn, you burn me
You body's talking to mine (you burn me)
Sizzling sensation, our bodies like it in time (oh yeah!)
You know we gonna burn, burn, burn the fire, they don't make it anymore (talk
 to me)
Fire in big waves, yeah. I've got you burning the floor
Burnin' the floor!
Burnin' the floor!

First Appearance: DDR 4th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDR Konamix
Artist Notes: See the FAQ for info on Naoki. Vocals are by Robbie Danzie and
 Aaron G.

========================================
7C. SP1 - Burning Heat! (3 Option Mix) =
========================================

Artist: Mr.T with Motoaki.F
Genre: 12 Beat* (Konamix)
BPM: 166

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 2   2
STD: 5   6
HVY: 9   9

Play Notes: Two stops here; at the beginning after several steps, and at the
 end, just before the last two notes.

Heavy Notes: Definitely a hard nine-footer. First off, there are almost no
 eighth notes in this song, per se. Almost every time you see streams,
 they'll be too off to be eighth notes, but they're not quite gallops,
 either. They're actually triplets, with one note in the tri-puh-let series
 removed. Also, once the main melody begins, you'll find that the steps
 follow it very closely, and all the notes are triplets. It's basically the
 same throughout the whole song. If you know how the song sounds, you'll find
 it easier, but there are still some nasty turns that the song throws at you
 to keep you honest.

---

First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 7th Style
DDR Debut: DDRMAX2: DDR 7th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDRMAX2 USA
Artist Notes: See fly through the night for info on Mr. T. Motoaki Furukawa is
 the original composer of this, which is a classic tune from Gradius II, from
 the level of the same name.

======================
7D. SP1 - In My Eyes =
======================

Artist: riewo
Genre: Trance*
BPM: 142

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3   4
STD: 5   5
HVY: 6   6

Heavy Notes: This song likes its freeze arrows, but it won't try to trip you
 up like some of these other freeze-happy songs. Beyond that, you'll find
 mostly simple streams.

---

Lyrics:

Your eyes make me free
Tenshi no sei mitsumete
Your eyes make me free
Me o tojikashita
In my eyes
Kidzuite yo fukai yami no naka de
In your eyes
Hate shinai towa no yumemisete yo
In my eyes
Kidzuite yo fukai yami no naka de
In your eyes
Hate shinai towa no yumemisete yo
In my eyes...

In my eyes...

---

First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 5th Style

 Hill game series. He's also done plenty of work for beatmania.

=========================
7E. SP1 - Mind Parasite =
=========================

Artist: TOMOSUKE
Genre: Goa Trance
BPM: 145

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3   3
STD: 6   6
HVY: 7   8

Heavy Notes: This song is mostly simple streams from beginning to end. The
 end third or so has streams that end in double steps.

---

First Appearance: Dance ManiaX 2nd Mix
DDR Debut: DDR Ultramix
Artist Notes: Tomosuke Funaki is a BEMANI artist with his roots in beatmania.

=============================
7F. SP2 - AFRONOVA PRIMEVAL =
=============================

Artist: 8bit
Genre: Tribal*
BPM: 200

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   4
STD: 6   6
HVY: 9   9

Heavy Notes: One pain of a nine-footer. The streams can get pretty long (up
 to sixteen notes long), and they'll include turning regularly, including
 full spins. Nothing truly special, just a lot of it, and at a fast tempo,
 too...

---

Genre: Dub*
BPM: 85

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3   4
STD: 5   5
HVY: 6   7

Heavy Notes: Lots of freezes and sixteenth notes in this slow song. Be very
 careful. You'll need some practice runs to follow the song properly.

=========================
7H. SP2 - Midnite Blaze =
=========================

Artist: U1 Jewel Style
Genre: Euro Beat
BPM: 150

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   4
STD: 5   5
HVY: 8   8

Heavy Notes: Whenever they play the euro-synth keyboard notes, you'll find
 yourself stepping to those notes. The rest is just streams, some pretty
 long. There are several points that would suggest you turn, but I don't
 think you should, because this will put you in a lousy position to tackle
 the rest of the streams.

---

Lyrics:

Stole my heart on the dance floor
No way, can't leave no more
What am I supposed to do without you
Make you mine is all I wanna do

Step by step as I approach
I say to myself I need a coach
I know you can read my mind
You're the best that a man can find

I'll be your midnite blaze
Brighter than the moon and stars
Guide you thru the cave of love

I'm gonna dance till the morning
Takes my place to shine the way
When you see the light is not from me
You know it's too late

All nite long you take the lead
Stay with me you're all I need
Please make this moment last
Time is running really fast

Something tells me you must go
Why? I need to know
Do you think we will meet again?
If not my future'll never begin

I'll be your midnite blaze
Brighter than the moon and stars
Guide you thru the cave of love

I'm gonna dance till the morning sunbeam
Takes my place to shine the way
When you see the light is not from me
Told you it's too late

Baby it's too late
Baby it's too late
Baby it's too late

========================
7I. SP2 - OUTER LIMITS =
========================

Artist: L.E.D.-G
Genre: Hardcore Breakbeats*
BPM: 85-342

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 5   5
STD: 7   8
HVY:10  10

Play Notes: It starts out at the 85 bpm, then it jams up to 342. About
 halfway through, it slows back down, then speeds back up.

Heavy Notes: Well, what's to say. It's a ten-footer. I will say that the
 streams are pretty easy, compared to MAX 300, but the sheer speed of the
 song can tire you out quickly.

---

Lyrics:

And torture
And destroy!

Just feel alright yeah....
It's callin' out....
Just feel alright yeah....
Just feel alright yeah....
And torture
And destroy!

First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 6th Style (JP PS2)

===============================
7J. SP2 - SOMETHING WONDERFUL =
===============================

Artist: L.E.D.
Genre: Epic Trance*
BPM: 150

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   4
STD: 6   5
HVY: 7   8

Heavy Notes: Ugh. Such a great song, and they give it such whacked-out
 steps. You really need to see it to understand it. I'll just say that there
 are tons of oddly placed freezes, several sixteenths leading to freezes, and
 steps that don't follow the melody.

---

First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 5th Style (JP PS2)
DDR Debut: DDR Ultramix
Artist Notes: See Love Is Dreaminess

===================
7K. SP3 - ANALYZE =
===================

Artist: B.BANDJ
Genre: Hip Hop*
BPM: 93

Difficulty:
    Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4   4
STD: 5   5
HVY: 7   7

Heavy Notes: This song will play lots of tricks on you with freeze arrows.
 One of the favorites is two sixteenths into a freeze, then jumping off
 immediately into two sixteenths. You'll have to do this song several times
 to get all the quirks down.
