5R. Macho Gang =
================
Artist: ANAL SPYDER
Genre: Tribe House*
BPM: 125
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 5 5
STD: 7 7
HVY: 8 8
Heavy Notes: These steps follow the music at first with the percussion.
Once the noise really starts, you get medium-sized streams. As the song
progresses to the end, you get an increasing number of double steps in
the streams, until the streams are nothing but jumps.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX substream
DDR Debut: DDR Club Mix Version 2
Artist Notes: ANAL SPYDER is Keiichi Ueno, also known as "DJ Swan", who did
gentle stress and THE CUBE, both featured in DDRMAX USA.

Difficulty:

5T. Make Your Move =
====================
Artist: good-cool feat. JP miles
Genre: Funk*
BPM: 120
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 6 6
HVY: 7 9
Heavy Notes: Well, I hope you like long streams. At the beginning, you'll
face some shorties with sixteenths thrown in to spice it up, and then come
two of the longer streams in DDR history. Fortunately, there's almost no
turning and it's at a relatively slow pace.
---
Lyrics:
(ohh.. yeah, make your move)
(ohh.. yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Make your move
C'mon now baby, make your move
Don't be a fool
The move I make depends on you
Yeah, you see
I give it every single part of me
And somehow
You've got to show me some kind of action, now
So
Go make your move, baby
Go make your move, somehow
Go make your move, on me
I need to see some action, now
Go make your move, baby
Go make your move, somehow
Go make your move, on me
I need to see some action, now
(ohh.. yeah, make your move)
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 3rd Style
DDR Debut: DDR 4th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDR Konamix
Artist Notes: See 19, November for info on good-cool. JP miles is the
vocalist for this song.
====================
5U. MAXX UNLIMITED =
====================
Artist: Z
Genre: Hardcore Techno/Trance
BPM: 150-320
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 6 6
STD: 8 8
HVY: 10 10
Play Notes: The banner MAX song of this mix is not for wimps. It begins at a
"standard" 300 clip, and carries that way for much of the song. When you
hear the sustained synthesizer hits, you'll have dropped slightly to 280.
You may not even notice it, and then back to 300 once the percussion kicks
back in. Once you reach the soft part, you'll have dropped to 150, only to
kick back up to 300 when the percussion starts again. Then, you'll get
another soft part which will slow down to 140, then a freeze arrow that will
slow to a halt. Count five beats after the arrows stop and finish the song
at a brisk 320.
Standard Notes: The only song I'm supplying them for. These steps actually
follow the music pretty closely. The biggest problem that makes this a real
tough Standard is that there's a LOT of Air (double steps), and I mean a LOT.
So, try to follow the music. They don't really try to trick you too much
here.
Heavy Notes: Your only course for victory here is to memorize it. There is
absolutely no way you'll fudge through this song. It's far too stacked
against you. To build up your knowledge of the song, run it in Training Mode
with the metronome and handclap. Other than that, there's very little more I
can teach you at this point, because if you desire this song, you'll have to
have all the skills you've built up to this point, and one hell of an amount
of leg endurance. One spot to point out, though. The 150 spot is on with
the music, but the slowdown to a stop part is NOT. You need to memorize
that. After that, remember not to over-exert yourself if you do not need to.
Flow with the song, don't fight it. It doesn't matter how hard you hit the
steps. It just matters that you hit them. Good luck, and don't hurt
yourself.
---
First Appearance: DDRMAX2: DDR 7th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDRMAX2 USA
Artist Notes: Z is another psuedonym for Naoki Maeda.
Misc. Notes: Other MAX songs include MAX 300 in DDRMAX USA and DDR Ultramix,
The legend of MAX in DDR Extreme USA, and MAXIMIZER in DDR Extreme USA.
=================
5V. Monkey Punk =
=================
Artist: Big Idea
Genre: Punk Pop
BPM: 180
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 5 5
HVY: 6 7
Heavy Notes: While fast, the song is very simple, and the steps reflect
that, with only small streams to follow the lyrics and guitar.
---
Lyrics:
Sittin' around, watchin' TV
Looking for something to do
When all of a sudden, a commercial comes on that says
"Hey! Come to the zoo!"
So, me and my friends, we go out in the car
Didn't have much gas
You think we didn't have to go too far
Didn't have to go too far
First things first, we got some ice cream
And then we headed over to tease the monkeys
Stuck my tongue out and made the monkey frown
Tryin' to be cool with my friends around
Well, I guess he had enough of me
'Cause when I turned my head, he stole my ice cream
That little monkey stole my ice cream
And everybody laughed at me
That little monkey stole my ice cream
Everybody made fun of me
That little monkey made a monkey out of me
As the day came to an end
We walked right by the monkey again
And as he was swingin' from tree to tree
I swear that monkey was laughing at me
Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey
That little monkey made a monkey out of me
That little monkey made a monkey out of me
Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey
That little monkey made a monkey out of me

5W. MY SUMMER LOVE =
====================
Artist: mitsu-O! with GEILA
Genre: Island Pop
BPM: 100
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3 3
STD: 6 5
HVY: 9 8
Heavy Notes: A slow nine-footer? The reason will become apparent. From the
beginning, you'll have some slow streams in the verse, some turning, and a
few doubles in streams. Once the melody starts, you'll have sixteenths
thrown in on the "Summer love, oh-la!" part. Sometimes three, sometimes
two, sometimes five. Of course, the real difficulty of this song is apparent
once you hit the bridge, which is just a long stream of sixteenths, with a
small break in the middle. The only way you can get this one is to practice,
and try to memorize the steps if you can. After the bridge, it's just more
of the same on the melody.
---
Lyrics:
(mmm, who's that boy standing there?
I think I want to get to know him)
Started as boys and girls, one day making news
We spoke and then we knew something very new
Sodas to tropical juice, I knew it was true
Tonight the perfect moon will shine on
Summer love oh-la
I can feel my heart beating
Summer love oh-la
The temperature is uprising
Summer love oh-la... la!
Tell me what we are feeling
Summer love oh-la
I know I'm in love with you boy
(doo doo doodoo doodoo dooledoodoo ooh hoo)
When I'm in the air, jump
No need to fear, jump
Jump into this love
No need to stop now
Feel the carnival
Join the festival
Stomp and stomp your feet
To the rhythm now
Summer love oh-la
Can you feel my heart beating
Summer love oh-la
A rhythm is high repeating
Summer love oh-la...la!
Tell me your love is reaching
Summer love oh-la
I know I'm in love with you boy

First Appearance: DDR 4th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDR Disney Mix, DDRMAX USA
Artist Notes: mitsu-O! is a Naoki psuedonym and Geila Zilkha is the song's
vocalist.
==========
5X. R10K =
==========
Artist: tiger YAMATO
Genre: Rave*
BPM: 96-204
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 5 6
HVY: 8 9
Play Notes: The song starts at 96, then goes to 204, then back to 96, then
204 again, then back to 96. The changes occur abruptly in the song.
Heavy Notes: The speed changes are especially difficult to read on Heavy,
since you're playing with lousy slow steps with lots of chaos, the jump
can be surprising. Thankfully, the fast parts are pretty easy once you
get underway.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 4th Style
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See LUV TO ME for info on tiger YAMATO.
Misc. Notes: One of the literal predecessors of this song, R3, is in DDR
Konamix.
==============
5Y. Red Room =
==============
Artist: Jesper Kyd
Genre: Big Beat
BPM: 120
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 5 5
HVY: 8 8
Play Notes: There's a quick stop in the song about 3/4ths through.
Heavy Notes: This moderately-slow song has plenty of sixteenths on Heavy,
but for the most part, they're alternating, so don't expect steps that are
too crazy.
---
First Appearance: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See Istanbul Café.
======================================
5Z. RIDE ON THE LIGHT (HI GREAT MIX) =
======================================
Artist: Mr.T
Genre: Power Fusion*
BPM: 180
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 6 7
HVY: 8 8
Heavy Notes: Plenty of long streams with crossovers, but not much else.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 5th Style
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See fly through the night.
================
5AA. route 80s =
================
Artist: samplingmasters MEGA
Genre: Noisy*
BPM: 122-244
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 6 6
HVY: 8 9
Play Notes: The song goes 122 to 244, and does it three times. These are
even tougher to spot than R10K's jumps.
Heavy Notes: The slow parts are lousy with chaos, following the strange
lyrics and beats in the song. The fast parts are simple in comparison, and
they'd better be, going so fast.
---
Lyrics:
Attention!
Do you really think love can save you?
Attention!
Love is the movie and you are the star
Do it, do it (yeah yeah yeah)
Do it, do it
Attention!
Love is the movie and you are the star
Attention! Attention!
Love is the movie and you are the star
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 6th Style
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: MEGA is Shinji Hosoe, a beatmania artist with a few songs to
his name.
===============
5BB. starmine =
===============
Artist: Ryu
Genre: Happy Hardcore*
BPM: 182
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 5 5
STD: 6 7
HVY: 8 9
Heavy Notes: Like most of the beatmania tunes in this mix, the steps dutifully
follow the music, which can be pretty harrowing with this happy-go-lucky
tune.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 4th Style
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: Ryu is Ryutaro Nakahara, a beatmania artist with a small
number of tunes to his name.
=========================================================
5CC. THE BIG VOYAGER (INFINITE PRAYER REINTERPRETATION) =
=========================================================
Artist: L.E.D.
Genre: Goa Trance*
BPM: 147
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 3
STD: 6 7
HVY: 8 9
Heavy Notes: Again, the steps focus around the music. You'll find that
will lead to some gallops and some syncopating sixteenth steps.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 4th Style (JP PS2)
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See Love Is Dreaminess.
Misc. Notes: As the subtitle says, this basically takes instrumentation and
setups from INFINITE PRAYER and reworks it into a new song.
======================
5DD. V (for EXTREME) =
======================
Artist: TAKA
Genre: Progressive*
BPM: 150
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 3
STD: 6 5
HVY: 8 8
Heavy Notes: There are a lot of steps in this song. There are a few gallops,
but they pale once the song gets underway. You have sixteenths in the main
string sections, and a rather long crossover stream in the piano section.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 5th Style
DDR Debut: DDR Extreme (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDR Extreme USA
Artist Notes: See "A" for my info on dj TAKA.
Misc. Notes: The "for EXTREME" tag means that this is a shortened version of
the original IIDX song designed for DDR Extreme. V is short for Vivaldi,
as in, the famous baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi. The original piece this
work is based on is from The Four Seasons, Concerto No.4 in F Minor, revision
297, "Winter".
==============
5EE. VJ Army =
==============
Artist: good-cool
Genre: All Mix*
BPM: 135-160
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 2 2
STD: 7 6
HVY: 9 9
Play Notes: The speed starts at about 150 or so, then picks up to 160 in the
middle, then drops down to 135 for the end.
Heavy Notes: The first section is odd chaos that follows the music. The
second is short streams, and the third is slightly longer streams with
double steps in them.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 6th Style
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See 19, November for info on good-cool.

6. UNLOCKABLE SONGS
******************************************************************************
These are the songs that are hidden and you can unlock them if you fulfil the
proper conditions. You don't have to pay extra for these, or anything.
They're all Konami Originals.
=================
6A. .59 - remix =
=================
UNLOCK: Pass Red Room and Istanbul Café on Heavy.
Artist: Jesper Kyd
Genre: Big Beat
BPM: 130
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 3
STD: 6 6
HVY: 8 8
Heavy Notes: Most of this song is streams with doubles thrown into them to
match the rhythm. For the few parts where you hear the classic .59 piano,
the steps will follow the piano itself.
---
First Appearance: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See Istanbul Café.
Misc. Notes: The original .59, by dj TAKA, can be found in DDR Konamix,
DDR Ultramix, and DDR Extreme USA.
========
6B. G2 =
========
UNLOCK: Play 200 Songs OR pass the Challenge "Extra 1"
Artist: Aya
Genre: Drum'N'Bass*
BPM: 170
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 6 6
STD: 8 8
HVY:10 10
Heavy Notes: The opener's relatively simple, following the bass lines. Once
the percussion picks up, it starts getting nasty. It begins with weird
freeze placements while trying to hit other steps, and then, once you reach
the bridge, it goes all over the map, with lots of sixteenth clusters and
syncopation, which is really tough at this somewhat fast tempo. Practice
and good eyes will save you here.
---
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 6th Style
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: Aya Sakuma has a few songs to her name in the beatmania series.
========================
6C. GYRUSS (FULL TILT) =
========================
UNLOCK: Play 50 Songs
Artist: JT.1Up
Genre: Arcade Remix*
BPM: 130-170
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3 4
STD: 6 6
HVY: 8 8
Play Notes: The song starts at 130, then once the percussion starts picking
up, it will increase to 170. Then, once the melody really gets going, it'll
drop back down to about 150.
Heavy Notes: Most of the song is populated with streams and crossovers. Late
in the song are a bunch of delayed jumps to match the "orchestra" hits.
---
First Appearance: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: The rumor I've heard is that JT.1Up works directly for Konami
of Hawaii.
Misc. Notes: This is a remix of the main song of Gyruss, an old old Konami
arcade shooter (as if the background video didn't make that obvious). The
Gyruss tune itself is based off "Tocatta and Fugue in D minor" by Johann
Sebastian Bach.
==============================
6D. i feel... (T.O.Y. Remix) =
==============================
UNLOCK: Access the Credits through the Options menu and score over 12000 on
the Credits mini-game.
Artist: T.O.Y.
Genre: Trance*
BPM: 141
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 5 3
STD: 6 6
HVY: 7 8
Heavy Notes: Watch out in the beginning for a series of gallops. Most of the
song after that is relatively simple streams and crossovers that follow
the music. The end will throw in a few sixteenths at the end of streams, so
stay sharp.
---
Lyrics:
Ai fiiiiriii... (repeated)
---
First Appearance: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: Part of "A Different Drum", T.O.Y. is Volker Lotz of Germany.
The original "i feel.." is by Akira Yamaoka, composer of Konami's Silent
Hill series. He's also contributed a lot of music to the beatmania series,
as well.
Misc. Notes: The original "i feel..." can be found in DDRMAX2 USA and DDR
Extreme USA.
