Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix - Strategy Guide (Page 05)
Below are the cheat codes, hints and help for Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix - Strategy Guide (Page 05).
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 6th Style
DDR Debut: DDR Extreme (Arcade)
Artist Notes: See .59 for info on TAKA. The vocalist is listed as Chiyoko,
a psuedonym for Sunny James, vocalist of HIGHER.
Misc. Notes: Yes, in DDR Extreme, there were Challenge steps for this song.
Ultramix doesn't have a Challenge difficulty, so if you want to play them,
you'll have to Edit them in. The (for EXTREME) tag denotes that it's a
shortened version of the original Colors (Radio Edit).
=====================
5B. GRADIUSIC CYBER =
=====================
UNLOCK: Score a "AA" on any song.
Artist: TAKA
Genre: Digi-Rock*
BPM: 160
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 7 7
STD: 8 9
HVY: 9 10
Heavy Notes: A mid-range nine-footer. There are several streams, a few
gallops, and quite a few crossovers. There are also several double steps in
streams. Also, at the beginning is a double stream, and at the end are a
series of triplets closing the song.
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX
DDR Debut: DDR Club Mix
Artist Notes: See .59 for info on dj TAKA.
Misc. Notes: Much of this song takes sound samples from the old Gradius games.
In actuality, the banner, background, and tune are from the "Another" version
of GRADIUSIC CYBER, but the steps are from the original.
==================================
5C. Healing Vision (Angelic mix) =
==================================
UNLOCK: Pass Healing Vision on all three difficulties.
Artist: 2MB
Genre: Rave
BPM: 46-196
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 5 5
STD: 7 7
HVY: 9 9
Play Notes: It starts super slow, but goes right to the 196 as soon as you
hit the very first step. You'll continue through most of the song as
normal until you reach a very short hold. Only practice and experience
will allow you to pick up where it shows up. Lastly, it will get very
slow for the last couple of notes.
Heavy Notes: To quote ET: "Oouuuuuch". The high speeds of HV:AM and the
long, long streams, with plenty of turns throwing you around the pad make
this a song for the ages. I consider this to be the hardest nine-footer in
this mix. Some won't agree, but who cares. Oh, note that, while LGT and
STD have you going from the hold to a quarter note. HVY has you going to
a pickup eighth note, so you have even less time for that little rest as you
enter the 130-step stream straight to the end.
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR 5th Mix (JP PS1)
American Appearances: DDRMAX USA
Artist Notes: 2MB is a psuedonym for U1. See AFTER THE GAME OF LOVE.
=============
5D. MAX 300 =
=============
UNLOCK: Either AAA any song on any difficulty or hit ROULETTE, land on the
MAX 300 that appears, and pass it, any difficulty.
Artist: Omega
Genre: Hardcore Techno*
BPM: 300
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 6 6
STD: 8 8
HVY:10 10
Play Notes: There is one stop in this song. You'll land on a freeze arrow
and slow down to a stop. Count to four after you stop and that's when you
start back up again.
Standard Notes: It's mostly quarter notes on Standard, except for about
three places during the song (two during the first half, one during the
end) that are eighth note streams that will hurt your feet. If it's not
quarter notes or streams, then the steps follow the music. You'll really
get to know this song...
Heavy Notes: Ah, the piece de resistance, for this mix, anyway. You'll
actually find that the steps follow the music relatively well, especially
at the beginning. Once you get going, you'll find more and more lengthy
streams thrown in (of course, at this speed, seven-note streams are
lengthy). Once you pass the stop, you'll find more streams in odd
configurations. The song actually doesn't require you to turn much at all.
So, I guess you've got that going for you. Just build up your leg stamina
as much as you can, try to use as little energy as possible when stepping,
and memorize as much of the steps as you can. It can be done. It's been
done. It's been AAA'd, for crying out loud, 300 times by one guy...
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDRMAX: DDR 6th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDRMAX USA
Artist Notes: Omega is a psuedonym for Naoki.
Misc. Notes: Other MAX songs include MAXX UNLIMITED in DDRMAX2 USA and
DDR Ultramix 2, The legend of MAX in DDR Extreme USA, MAXIMIZER in DDR
Extreme USA, and MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix) in DDR Ultramix 2.
====================
5E. MGS2 mission R =
====================
UNLOCK: Pass any song with a score of "A".
Artist: L.E.D.
Genre: Konamix*
BPM: 150
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 5 6
HVY: 7 8
Heavy Notes: For the *majority*, this song is quarter notes and short streams,
with a few gallops. The minority is the killer, though, which is long
clusters of sixteenths following the percussion (even though they're just
alternating steps).
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: beatmania 6th Mix + CORE REMIX (JP PS1)
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: See INFINITE PRAYER
Misc. Notes: Yes, this song uses tunes from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of
Liberty, score originally composed by Norihiko Hibino. I notice an "EVASION"
tune in there, plus some others.
==================================
5F. ORION .78 (civilization mix) =
==================================
UNLOCK: Play 300 songs OR complete all Challenge Mode challenges.
WARNING! Make sure you unlock Colors before unlocking this through Challenge
Mode, or else you'll only be able unlock Colors through the Konami Code.
Artist: 2MB
Genre: Spiritual Hardcore
BPM: 200
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 6 6
STD: 8 8
HVY: 9 9
Heavy Notes: Contends with HV:AM for the hardest nine-footer. The problems
here aren't really long streams (except for the last one at the end, but
it's not nearly as long as HV:AM's), but they're double steps figured into
the streams, as well as some awkward stepping rhythms. Also, when the
driving percussion cuts out, you'll find that you won't be facing straight
eighth notes, but an almost psuedo-gallop.
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR 4th Mix (JP PS1)
American Appearances: DDRMAX USA
Artist Notes: 2MB is U1-ASAMI. See AFTER THE GAME OF LOVE.
======================
5G. PARANOiA Rebirth =
======================
UNLOCK: Pass PARANOiA ETERNAL on all three difficulties.
Artist: 190'
Genre: Jungle
BPM: 190
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 6 6
STD: 7 8
HVY: 9 9
Heavy Notes: Well, right away, they start throwing long streams at you, and
they won't let up for the remainder of the song. About the only thing that
changes throughout this whole song is that the streams will start requiring
you to turn and/or keep one foot on one arrow. Couple this with the
standard PARANOiA tendency to go with weird rhythms, and you'll have a
great time...
---
Lyrics:
Re-re-rebirth (repeated)
Fee-Fee-Fee-feels so good...
Hey, baby...
Feels good!
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR 3rd Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDR Konamix
Artist Notes: 190' is a Naoki psuedonym, denoting the BPM.
Misc. Notes: See PARANOiA ETERNAL.
===============================================
5H. PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME (Saturday Night Mix) =
===============================================
UNLOCK: Fail any song.
Artist: UZI-LAY
Genre: Jazz Funk
BPM: 120
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3 3
STD: 5 5
HVY: 6 6
Heavy Notes: Simple, for the most part. There are some streams which lead to
double steps, and freezes, of course, but it's a pretty sweatless song.
---
Lyrics:
Put your faith-faith-faith-faith-faith...
F-F-F-Faith...faith...faith...
Put your faith in me and I'll show ya
(Listen to my heart, it's cryin' out for...)
You bring the reason to doubt it all
Put your faith in me and I'll show ya
(I just wanna drive you crazy)
You bring the reason to doubt it all
Causin' much mayhem, droppin' drama
Radical rebel with a need to bomb-a
Fake MC dare not hang 'em higher
The mic is mine, time to pay the piper
Crime an' rhyme goin' on as I kick them
You an' the beat hold trait as the victim
Maniac, as I cut the balances
Supreme, with the war and challenges
Graceful
Put your faith-faith-faith-faith...
Put your - Put your faith-faith-faith-faith...
Born an' raised in Chicago, Cook County
Mic is the omen raisin' hell like Damien
Push through your chest like the creature in Alien
Prey, like a phantom on the loose
Hold still while I get the noose
I got your brain in my scope
The plan that I hold is so dope you can't cope
Deadly
Put your faith in me and I'll show ya
(Listen to my heart, it's cryin' out for...)
You bring the reason to doubt it all
Put your faith in me and I'll show ya
(I just wanna drive you crazy)
You bring the reason to doubt it all
(Give us Naoki!)
Put your faith-faith-faith-faith...
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: Dance ManiaX
DDR Debut: BRAND NEW
Artist Notes: UZI-LAY is a Naoki psuedonym for PYFIM and its remixes.
Misc. Notes: The original PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME is in DDR USA and DDRMAX2 USA,
and the "Jazzy Groove" version is in DDR USA.

5I. Sana Mollete Ne Ente (BLT Style) =
======================================
UNLOCK: Pass Sana Mollete Ne Ente on all three difficulties.
Artist: Togo Project feat. Sana
Genre: Mondo-Cuban*
BPM: 88-180
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 2 2
STD: 5 5
HVY: 7 8
Play Notes: The song begins at 88, until the big orchestra hits, then kicks
up to 180 for the rest of the song.
Heavy Notes: Once you get truly underway, the biggest problem comes from
lengthy, but easy, streams at the fast tempo. No real surprises.

6A. SP1 - Abyss =
=================
Artist: dj TAKA
Genre: Intelligence*
BPM: 142
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 2 3
STD: 5 5
HVY: 7 7
Play Notes: About halfway through this song is a stop that lasts two measures.
Heavy Notes: There are plenty of long streams in this song, and there are
also lots of gallops, although the gallops are pretty standalone. Make sure
you're watching to see what's a gallop and what's a straight eighth. There's
only one spot that requires turning, and that's a medium-length stream near
the end.
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 5th Style
DDR Debut: DDR 5th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDRMAX USA
Artist Notes: See .59
=============================
6B. SP1 - BURNIN' THE FLOOR =
=============================
Artist: NAOKI
Genre: Euro Groove*
BPM: 155
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 6 6
HVY: 7 8
Heavy Notes: The streams don't get very long, and there's no turning
involved. Probably the only tricky part is the bridge, where the steps
follow the synthesizer hits.
---
Lyrics:
(Look out on the dancefloor)
(It's waiting for you)
It's time to burn
Burn, burn, burn's the fix
And tell me, do you really wanna roll with this
The heat is on, it's time to move
So where you know just what to do
The temperatures rising, no way out
Going too far, can't stop now
So let me know if you feel it, too
When the fire gets inside of you
Where have, you been all of my life
I've been, looking for you
I wanna dance through, dark into the daylight with you
I wanna burn!
Burn, burn burn, the world right
The rhythm's hard to ignore
Set up a big fire
I just don't care anymore!
Let's make it special, on a dance floor
I can read the signs, but I can't use the lore
Let's get it up, 'cause now's the time
I really wanna make you mine tonight
Let's put in the fight
You and me, on a fantasy
And if you really wanna learn, I'm gonna show you how to burn
Burn, burn, burn, you burn me
You body's talking to mine (you burn me)
Sizzling sensation, our bodies like it in time (oh yeah!)
You know we gonna burn, burn, burn the fire, they don't make it anymore (talk
to me)
Fire in big waves, yeah. I've got you burning the floor
Burnin' the floor!
Burnin' the floor!

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR 4th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDR Konamix
Artist Notes: See the FAQ for info on Naoki. Vocals are by Robbie Danzie and
Aaron G.
========================================
6C. SP1 - Burning Heat! (3 Option Mix) =
========================================
Artist: Mr. T with Motoaki.F
Genre: 12 Beat*
BPM: 166
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 2 2
STD: 5 6
HVY: 9 9
Play Notes: Two stops here; at the beginning after several steps, and at the
end, just before the last two notes.
Heavy Notes: Definitely a hard nine-footer. First off, there are almost no
eighth notes in this song, per se. Almost every time you see streams,
they'll be too off to be eighth notes, but they're not quite gallops,
either. They're actually triplets, with one note in the tri-puh-let series
removed. Also, once the main melody begins, you'll find that the steps
follow it very closely, and all the notes are triplets. It's basically the
same throughout the whole song. If you know how the song sounds, you'll find
it easier, but there are still some nasty turns that the song throws at you
to keep you honest.
---
Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 7th Style
DDR Debut: DDRMAX2: DDR 7th Mix (Arcade)
American Appearances: DDRMAX2 USA
Artist Notes: Mr. T is Tomoyuki Uchida, a Konami Original artist, and Motoaki
Furukawa is the original composer of this, which is a classic tune from
Gradius II, from the level of the same name.
======================
6D. SP1 - In My Eyes =
======================
Artist: ric
Genre: Trance*
BPM: 142
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 3 4
STD: 5 5
HVY: 6 6
Heavy Notes: This song likes its freeze arrows, but it won't try to trip you
up like some of these other freeze-happy songs. Beyond that, you'll find
mostly simple streams.
---
Lyrics:
Your eyes make me free
Tenshi no sei mitsumete
Your eyes make me free
Me o tojikashita
In my eyes
Kidzuite yo fukai yami no naka de
In your eyes
Hate shinai towa no yumemisete yo

Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl

Artist: 8bit
Genre: Tribal*
BPM: 200
Difficulty:
Sgl Dbl
LGT: 4 4
STD: 6 6
HVY: 9 9
Heavy Notes: One pain of a nine-footer. The streams can get pretty long (up
to sixteen notes long), and they'll include turning regularly, including
full spins. Nothing truly special, just a lot of it, and at a fast tempo,
too...
