     Mongo was locked within the Prisons of Akrowla and felt it was
wrong.  He lamented his lost freedom and remembered wandering the
pretty lands of Barbaria as a little monkey...  He decided he would not
lay imprisoned for defending himself...  the door opened as a guard
brought him food.  Mongo grabbed him and threw him into the cell,
locking the door as he left!  He found a gruff and strong man, calling
himself 21, on his way out and they fought!

     Into Shorestone Castle entered Mongo, where he was met by Princess
Keela of Argos.  She would not hear his words or consider his evidence,
for she saw he was a hideous beast of the forest...  they fought!

     Mongo's dreams were haunted by images of the now dead Princess
Keela.  Her vision told him that her soul could not rest in peace until
her father, the slain King of Argos was avenged, and that Mongo would
suffer a curse if he did not atone for her murder.  The phantom Keela
commanded Mongo to find and slay the undead lord Magnus within
Shipwreck Waters...  Mongo did what the vision demanded... He attacked
Magnus!

one responsible.  The phantom Keela commanded Mongo to find and slay

present.  He began to search her home, thinking he might learn how she
hid from Argos and its forces...  Instead he made a mess of her home, and
when she returned she was enraged and assaulted him!

     Mongo's heart was filled with remorse, for nothing lived long
enough for him to know much less befriend.  His rage trapped him in a
world to be alone he thought.  How could he control himself he
wondered?  He found himself fighting himself, caught within a demented
world forged by magic.  Although he knew not what sorcery wrought this
spell, it was real.  Mongo fought the twisted version of himself!

ARENA:  Underground Sewers
STIPULATIONS:  Win consecutive rounds against the enemy!  Your life will not
               regenerate between rounds!

9A.  FALLEN ALLIES

     Mongo returned to Shorestone Castle and entered the tomb of kings
where he shed a tear before Princess Keela's sarcophagus.  He put a
white flower atop its stone lid and he prayed for her, hoping she could
forgive him for his rash death of her.  The demon Jinn had returned
from mortal death and her fire burned bright, dancing across her flesh
with the power of infernal heat!  She laughed at Mongo and said Keela
would have been his ally had he not slain her... and now he was doomed
to die and burn in the Hells of Naraka!  She told Mongo not to worry,
for his torment would begin shortly...  She attacked!

STIPULATIONS:  Your enemy is very strong!  Beware!

     Mongo went to hide in the Underground Sewers, but he found the man
with a stitch closed chest he had killed long ago.  The man, called
Stitch, told Mongo that he was caught between the living and the dead...
That he healed always back to existence...  Mongo was scared and thought
such a foul creature should die!

STIPULATIONS:  Defeat All.

9C.  BAD INFLUENCES

     Mongo sought escape from the world in the woeful forest, but he
triggered a trap...  A spiked ball fell from a tree, suspended by a rope...
It swung down and slammed into Mongo, killing him instantly...  Time
passed...  Mongo's hands twitched...  Life returned to him.  His eyes
opened suddenly, in shock...  Mongo lived!  From the void of the dead
Mongo came back!  Scared, but happy to live, Mongo ran southward into
the Lower Darklands until he came upon a dark skinned demon!  Jinn
hissed that the stupid ape did not realize his own immortality... but she
said she knew how to kill him permanently and torture his soul
throughout eternity...  She attacked!

ARENA:  Lower Darklands
STIPULATIONS:  You have been poisoned!  Defeat the enemy before you perish!

10A.  DARK TIES

     Mongo tired of the demon Jinn's coming back from Naraka to plague
him, he went to the Land of Desolation to kill her summoner... again!  He
found Corath next to a pillar that was encircled with arcing
electricity.  It pulsed with energy that made Mongo's hair stand on
end...  He felt it was evil and somehow knew it was the thing that
poisoned the berries he liked so much and sapped the life from his
world...  He saw that it somehow brought Corath back from the dead...
Mongo was of the land and he sensed this was very dark magic...  He could
feel it draw the tides of Naraka across the void between life and death
into the mortal world...  Mongo had to destroy it!

ARENA:  Land of Desolation
STIPULATIONS:  Destroy the Obelisk
NEXT CHAPTER(S):  Finale

10B.  HOPELESS

     Mongo felt his life was assigned to him, that he'd made no
decisions all this time...  He ran and ran, never really making choices
but following some pre-ordained plan.  He thought maybe this Magnus
could change his destiny by taking from him the curse of Bloodsong.
When he reached Magnus he was saddened to find he proclaimed Bloodsong
was his again, that he would cut it from the lifeless corpse of Mongo...
Mongo saw a pillar that hummed with power, electricity arcing all
around it.  Mongo somehow knew it was evil and should be destroyed!
Again, Mongo fought in self defense!

STIPULATIONS:  Destroy the Obelisk!

10C.  SOMETHING WICKED

     Mongo beat Jinn's life from her, leaving a pile of ash in her
place.  She simply disintegrated under his might.  She spoke of her
master, a wizard Corath that lived in the Land of Desolation.  Mongo
sought him there, where he found him next to a pillar that was
encircled with arcing electricity.  It pulsed with energy that made
Mongo's hair stand on end...  He felt it was evil and somehow knew it was
the thing that poisoned the berries he tried to eat and sapped the life
from his world...  Mongo was of the land and he sensed this was very dark

     Mongo's life was somehow destined he thought for all of these
things...  He was a little monkey that had become the great ape Mongo!
He felt he had a purpose that was not yet fulfilled.  He entered the
red portal, for he sensed he should...  He found himself on the other
side atop a mighty stone bridge on an island far away...  Before him
stood a stone man...  I spoke to him...  Welcome Mongo, I greet thee.  You
have been fun to watch, little one.  A little monkey you were...  I
watched you find Bloodsong and try to eat it...  I watched you transform
into the strong and potent ape you are now.  You have killed so many
and have found who you are...  it is a shame you came to me after so
much, for your life must now end.  Do you know why the gods fear me,
Mongo?  It is because...  I am Zaugg!!!
