even two years old. Keela's life was full of loss, and now even her
father was gone. She needed advice, and turned to Eyara... but Eyara did
not recognize Keela... Eyara condemned her for violating her sanctuary
and attacked!

dreamt of the silly smile her father made to cheer her up and of
playing word games to help her spell. She saw herself, when she was a
little girl, playing in the clear ocean water next to their home,
Shorestone Castle... Their time was full of laughter. They ran and
frolicked in the brine... finding seashells and pretty salt polished
rocks. ...The dream turned red and was hot... Keela saw flames everywhere
and heard her father cry out in pain, burning from torture! Her eyes
opened wide and saw a demon, black skin and pitch eyes with fire
dancing across her flesh. She attacked!

his fate! She entered Akrowla, finding him screaming in agony from
torturous spells. Corath was there, having used his magic teleport
there long before her. His spells sucked the blood from Mongo's dying
body... Upon seeing Keela, Corath drew his blade!

Following her meeting the wizard Corath, Keela felt his quest to
seek this ape Mongo was an errand that made little sense. Why would
this Corath not capture Mongo himself she wondered? She decided the
thieves guild might offer insight, for her father always told her when
you sit down to play a game, do not feel afraid to look under the
table. Keela went to see Phade in the Spider's Lair. Keela expected a
conflict, for nobility and ignobility often clash... Sword and shield in
hand, she descended into the darkness... Phade attacked Keela from the
darkness!

Princess Keela thought she might be going mad, drowning in her own
sorrow. She prayed for guidance, but nothing changed. In desperation,
she journeyed to the assassin Phade in the Spider's Lair. She knew
Phade and her father had a strange friendship, perhaps better called an
understanding... They helped each other know what happened above and
below board within the kingdom of Argos. Phade saw Keela and attacked
without pause!

her, Keela leapt to her feet, drawing her sword. She saw... herself...

Having finished her quest to slay the killer of her father, Keela
raced to the Prisons of Akrowla to save Mongo from the evil Corath's
dark magic. As she entered the ancient jail, she found Mongo dead
within a suspended cage. The spirit of Mongo approached her
menacingly, however, from another cell. It was vile, the enraged soul
of the tortured ape... It could have been saved, but Keela put her
revenge over his life. Stepping into view was Corath, again, and he
was not dead.

Keela came to understand that her loss was real, for she would
always love and miss her father. His death should not destroy her life
as well. The wizard Corath was turning her mind against her, twisting
things with arcane sorcery. She found the dark sorcerer in the Land of
Desolation, where he told her that he did nothing but make her
nightmares come true... He laughed as he told Keela she slew her own
friends! He clapped his hands and told Keela that her life was a was a
play that he wrote, and that he would now write her final chapter. He
attacked!

Princess Keela was well-read and knew Barbaria's legends. If a
demon was weaving the dark magic of afterlife, it would be in the Lower
Darklands of Barbaria where Naraka's hells touched the mortal world
through hell's gate. She wasted no time and sped to the volcanic
region where she found the demon Jinn, tending to the pillar full of
energy... It pulse and throbbed, as if it drained life and energy from
the world around it. Jinn sprang forward and attacked!

Finding strength in the memory of her father, Keela entered the
magical gate revealed when she destroyed the Pillar of Corruption. She
found herself stepping onto a bridge on the other side of the portal,
somewhere on an island far away from any place she knew. Before her
stood a mighty golem. It spoke.. I am Zaugg, Princess Keela of Argos.
You have proven a formidable opponent, but all is for naught, foolish
child. The gods themselves dare not challenge me, so who are you to
think you could do better!? I am Zaugg!!!

COMBO RUNE ([]): "MAX MANA." Eyara will raise her staff to the
heavens and it will glow with a neon green light. During this time,
Eyara will be able to throw as many magic projectiles as she wishes
against the enemies that she is facing, without draining any of her
magic meter. Press the R2 Button to release the attack.
THROW RUNE (U): Eyara will raise both of her hands in a clockwise
motion and then she will be protected by a (blue particle) life drain
energy shield. This attack is best used against multiple enemies when
surrounded and is also good when you want to get in a combo against an
unrelenting barbarian. Press the R2 Button to release the attack.
OBJECT RUNE (X): Eyara will raise her arms, holding the staff in both
hands, and will plunge her glowing staff into the ground. Then, a
circular wave or sharks will branch out from her. This attack is good
for knocking down a group of enemies that try to surround you so that
you will gain some breathing room. Press the R2 Button to release the
attack.
COUNTER RUNE (/\): Eyara will kneel down and with staff in hand will
unleash a seemingly never ending wave of sharks towards and opponent.
This rune attack can be aimed as well when utilized. This attack is
good for juggling attackers as well as taking down an opponent's energy
real fast! Press the R2 Button to release the attack.

Living a life alone for so long, Eyara sometimes felt she wasn't
whole. ...But she was also at peace with herself and the world. As
Eyara walked through the overgrown marsh, she glimpsed blood upon a
leaf, and saw a trail of blood leading into the dense foliage. She
followed the red drips to a huge ape that was clearly the result of
sorcery. Though injured, it charged!

Eyara left her secluded swamp to learn why this enchanted Mongo
had left his home in the Forgotten Ruins. She entered the area,
finding berries that matched those that stained Mongo's fur. She was
about to put a berry in her mouth when Forestsong vibrated violently...
It was poisonous! The sweet berries should not be... but they were.
Something had corrupted the... An undead haggard man approached Eyara;
He cackled as he limped along, brandishing dark rusty daggers.

It had been so long since Eyara had been with others, and she did
not like it. She tried to move quickly, feeling all she passed stared
at her disapprovingly. She belonged with nature, not here... not with
these... people. Corath, the wizard warrior, greeted Eyara and promised
to answer her question if she would show him her skill in combat. ...And
so they fought.

Eyara left Corath in the Land of Desolation and thought perhaps he
was right, that Argos found some way to weaken the magic of the Far
East. If so, she decided a direct confrontation would be unwise.
She'd known nobility of Argos and though they had always been honest,
their sense of justice was sometimes misplaced. She headed instead to
the neutral highlander, Dagan of the clan Dolok, living in the Arctic
Highlands of Skurlok. She found the clan all but gone, save for Dagan
himself in the lost fortress. Dagan swung his axe at Eyara,
proclaiming her the green witch!

in the Underground Sewers south of Akrowla. She made her way to this
mire pit and descended. She found the man she spared for the news of
Corath, and now sought more information. Stitch backed up, but
realizing he had no escape, attacked!

sitting alone in a room, listening to an orphanage director. The man
said there was no room for new children, much less a greenling... that
her race was driven out long ago... He challenged, how could this child
of the greenlings still be!? Eyara was un like any she'd ever seen
herself since her village was razed... and the world always told her so.
Her glazed eyes and green skin always drew attention. She entered the
dungeon within the sewers, her nostrils flaring from the stench. She
found Stitch, but he attacked her!

Eyara hid amidst a freight shipment going to the old city of Rezz,
and once there hastened to the icebound reefs of Shipwreck Waters. She
encountered Magnus and steeping before him, staff held high, demanded
he admit his involvement with Barbaria's cursed lands! Magnus said
nothing, letting out a grunt, and raised his mighty blade!

Seeking Princess Keela for advice about the corrupting forces
afflicting Barbaria, Eyara worried that the last time she'd seen the
princess she was much younger. Because her skin was green and eyes
solid black, Keela had passed judgment that she was a witch and should
be stoned to death. Eyara stayed clear for years, but she was only 14
years old. She must have grown older and more mature... or so Eyara
thought. Keela upon sight drew her sword and attacked!

borrowed his boat to reach Shipwreck Waters. Magnus, upon seeing her,
took his mighty sword in hand and flew toward her!

Eyara came to the capital of the Kingdom of Argos, Shorestone
Castle. She remembered meeting once the spoiled Princess Keela, a girl
so full of her self-righteous ways that she often judged others in
error. Eyara was victim of such a judgment long ago, for Keela thought
her a witch because her eyes were glazed and her skin was green. Eyara
fled then from a stoning that could have killed her. This Keela was
quick to judge. Eyara entered with caution, only to find the same
judgmental Keela... Keela attacked Eyara, calling her a witch!

different than the other children of her orphanage. Her skin was green
and here eyes were black. She was the last of her race, of the
greenlings. She traveled across the foreboding channel and up into the
Highlands of Skurlok where she sought a man she'd heard knew much of
Argos. A broad shouldered strong warrior leapt from an icy ledge,
identifying himself as Dagan of the clan Dolok... he instructed Eyara to
defend herself.

Disgusted with the arrogance of the royal family of Argos, Eyara
sought the recluse in the Highlands of Skurlok. Eyara climbed through
the glacial lands until she came upon the Lost Fortress of Skurlok,
home to Dagan of the Clan Dolok. Dagan was in a foul mood and axe in
hand assaulted Eyara.

Although much time had passed, she wondered if perhaps their old
friendship might be enough to sway Phade to help her discover the
wasting force spreading across the land. She journeyed to the Spider's
Lair where she met Phade. Phade gave a genuine warm smile, and said
that they should see who was the best now... Their test of skill began...

Eyara felt the most talkative thieves were those in jail, and so
she traveled to the Prisons of Akrowla. She found the ancient
structure was abandoned. The foliage all around was black as coal and
broke as dried brittle wood. There was no life, no birds, no animals,
nothing... This area was dead. Eyara found the stream nearby was dry,
It's bed covered in soot. She entered the prison, encountering a wild
man who attacked maniacally!

Learning a false Keela was issuing orders within Argos worried
Eyara. Perhaps she was behind the corrupting sorcery, she pondered.
Eyara borrowed a sled from Dagan to hasten her trip down the slopes of
Skurlok. She ran with the speed of a cheetah across the Skurlok
steppes and along the shores of the dead sea until she reached the
Prisons of Akrowla. Princess Keela saw her and ordered her aside, but
Eyara knew Keela from her childhood and this was not she. Exposed,
they fought!

Eyara's mind wandered as she headed to Akrowla. She was a little
girl in the orphanage of Argos, comforting a new crying orphan, Phade.
They were the same age, 8 years old. Phade mourned her parents' death.
They burned alive in their home after it went up in flames from a
faulty fireplace. There was little she could do, but she tried to
help. She felt the pain, for her parents died from a fie as well.
Eyara and Phade had different values, but they had been friends for
many years. Eyara reached the ancient prison, and saw everything was
black and dead... as if all had just evaporated from the land. Within,
she encountered a big man who attacked on sight!

telling him that she knew he was behind the decay of the land. Corath
smiled and told Eyara that she was right, but enough time now passed
and she was too late. Another Corath entered view... Eyara prepared
herself to combat both!

Eyara thought that is this prisoner called 21 was being hunted,
the wrath of Barbaria would slay him long before he had a fair trial.
If she found him first, perhaps he could be judged fairly. Just as
Dagan said, 21 was hiding in the Forgotten Ruins. He looked terrified,
confused, and lost... His long paused suggested to Eyara that his mind
was conflicted, not knowing what to do. As she approached him, he went
berserk and attacked.

Eyara headed north along the shore to Shorestone Castle, capital
of the Kingdom of Argos. She met with Princess Keela, and Keela told
Eyara she remembered her. Keela told the green woman that she was
banished long ago from Argos. To return, Eyara would have to prove
herself forgiven by right of combat! A huge warrior lumbered towards
Eyara, calling himself 21. Keela explained that this escaped prisoner
claims himself innocent as well. Whoever survives shall be declared
free of charges in Argos!

9A. ALONE

After studying the Pillar of Corruption's runes, Eyara knew they
formed a link to Naraka through the Lower Darklands. She arrived in
the hellish region of volcanic geysers and molten rock, and sat for a
moment. She gazed upon a bush that just caught fire... and remembered
her village aflame. Carried out by her father, she was rescued... but
died from the smoke and heat. Her mother never even made it out of the
burning building. The raiders rode throughout the inferno, killing
everyone but Eyara... She hid in a bush and somehow they did not find
her... Shaking her head and wiping the tears from her eyes, Eyara saw
the demon Jinn sitting across from her grinning... Enrage, Eyara
attacked.
